Even though I've been playing this game for almost 400 days now, I still have dumb questions about the mechanisms of the game. Rather than having the debate lost in the general discussions or dispersed in minor queries, thought perhaps it would be useful to start a new thread.

So first question to start off the thread:

If you have twin Odin leaders and you get hit by two monsters (say each attack is for 10,000, how many HP will you actually lose?)

    Question 2:

When you do a single Twin-Prong Attack (TPA = four-orb match) against a single monster, how much damage do you actually do? Do you get the TPA bonus even though you're only attacking a single monster (the animations and sounds certainly suggest that you do).

You should have 0.2 * 0.2 damage taken from first hit, ending in 4% damage.

For the TPA, damage calc does not change. You get your 1.5x bonus regardless of target count. The only thing that TPA does in addition is the extra hit if there's multiple targets. This is what makes TPA viable and strong.

    Odin question:

You take 20% of 20% for the first hit, and full damage for the 2nd.

    First monster does .2 x .2 = 0.04 (4%) and 4% of 10k = 400.
    Second monster, you take 10k.

    Total damage - 10,400.

    Q1 : 10400 damage received
Q2: 1,5x atk on a single monster for one TPA awakening

    ;)

    Good thread idea!

OK, guessed that was how it worked, but wasn't quite certain. Thanks.

    OK, makes sense.
I guess this is an extension to the original TPA question:

If I recall correctly each additional orb in a match gives you an extra 0.25x. Thus
3 orb match, say 1,000 damage
    4 orb match = 1,250 damage?
    5 orb match = 1,500 damage?
    6 orb match = 1,750 damage?
    (or is it perhaps multiplied?)

Now for a TPA do you get 1.5x *on top of* the 4-orb match bonus?
    Thus:
    1.5 x 1,250 = 1,875 damage?

Q3: For Krishna (and similar gods)

2 combos gives you x3 ATK
3 combos gives you x4.5 ATK

Is this on top of the standard x1.25 multiplier that you get for having a second combo, and 1.25x1.25 (=1.5625) multiplier for having a third combo?

    (So, in effect, for a standard 3-combo red match with paired Krishnas you're getting 1.5625 x (4.5x4.5) = 1.5625 x 20.25 => x31.64 ATK ?)

    Yes!

    And yes too.

You actually have all of it figured out.

2x TPA gives 2.25x (1.5 * 1.5) multiplier on top of the base game mechanics. So yes, the fourth orb gives the normal damage bonus a fourth orb in a combo normally gives.

Think of Khrisnas leader skill in the terms of every leaderskill in the game.
For example, when you are thinking about Bastets varying skill, you sort of ignore the the combo count.
Thus, at 4 combos you would get 2.5 x 2.5 = 6.25x leader skill multiplier at 4 combos. You then add the combo multiplier and all the other damage calc crap in there.
At 7 combos, you would get 4 x 4 = 16k leader skill mult and then the rest of the damage calc.

The final effective multiplier is a bit complex to calc.

OK, thanks! Saw something like this before, but it's a bit long and incredibly daunting. Just wanted to check a few basic things... And thought maybe a few other folks might have similar dumb questions.

    Here is my dumb question:

Suppose I send a friend request to someone. Which monster do they see when they get the request: the monster I have up now, or the monster I had up when I sent the request?

The latter would make more sense, since then if I wanted to friend someone because they had monster X and I also have monster X, then I would friend them with monster X up, so that they could see I have monster X.

However, sadly I think it doesn't work like this.

It doesn't. If someone without an @PF name (or one I recognise) friends me with a high rank but a useless monster, I'll just leave their request there and check back to see what leaders they switch to over the course of a few days to see if I should accept. (So it does change)

While we are at it :p i also have a dumb question already answered in the past :p :

What if i did a row and a TPA ? Will i attack all targets with 1.5x dmg? And what if i do 2 TPAs ? (I mean 2x 4 conneced orbs) what's the math if i do so? Would it be wise to do one TPA and do as many combos as possible instead of getting 3 TPAs and only have 5 combos?

    Thanks in advance :3

TPAs only affect the 4-orb combo, so each one is worth more than a normal combo, but they don't affect other combos. Row multipliers affect total damage. (So a 6-combo and a 4-combo will get the normal damage of a 6-combo + 1.5x a 4-combo all multiplied by the row multiplier)

So... well... bear with me... My math is pretty rough but hopefully you get the gist of it.

Let's take one card only as the example. Your leader skill is 1x. Your team has 5 row awakenings and the example card has 2 two-prongs.

If you do 1x4 prong and 1x6 row match only you will get
    Multiplier for the 4 match: 1.25 (4 orbs)x2.25x1.5(row bonus)*1.25(combo bonus)*other stuff
    Multiplier for the row : 1.25*1.25*1.25(6 orbs)*1.5(row bonus)*1.25(combo bonus)*other stuff

You then add these two together and what you get is the total attack of that one card.
(Damage for 4 match + Damage for row) = total.

If all you do is add one extra combo that is off color, the only thing that changes is the combo bonus part.
If you add one extra 4 orb TPA match, what you get in the end product instead is
(Damage for 4 match + Damage for 4 match + Damage for row) = total.

You can see that TPA scales linearly. You get the exact same damage increase if you go from 1 prong combo in to 2 prong combos, but you get a higher combo bonus since the combo count increases.
Target count is not affected at all. Your TPA damage will be calculated towards up to 2 targets, and your row damage will affect all targets.

You could buid an optimization algorithm you could run that gives the perfect damage output from given number of orbs.
For U&Y, my experience this far is that for 10 blues, 2x TPA and 2 leftover orbs deals more damage than 1xTPA and 2x3 blue combo.

I'm trying to skill up King Bubblie so...

What is better, a full mono-color board, or 3 rows, if you have 6 row enhance awakenings? And what if the orbs of your specific color are enhanced?
