I wish all the RK dungeons were selected team only, that way it's fair game.

So players who have practised for 4 yours would always win and newer players with a great box but less practice have no chance?
    How is that any fairer?

Newer players with great box but less practice couldn't even won in a ranking dungeon where you can use your own team because you need practice to be fast and to combo

This would be a better option because it would be based on skill and not on your luck of rolling good monsters

Ngl i also prefer fixed team rankings. So much easier :p

Also, DL Anubis looks good for this one. I think I'm set to get at least 151k with him.

At least 2 crowns so far were pure RNG, virtually no comboing required whatsoever.
The same goes for the 1st RD which I believe was a YouYu fest where you didn't have to pull off 7+ combos per floor either in no time.

Reality is that this is a money game and creating only fixed team RDs will have many people spend much less on the game.
Not much in the game is about being fair or anything, I think that's a given.

Having skill let's you advance in the game with less money to be spent. In the case of RD this argument diminishes virtually completely. It's not about giving the top dozen players one crown after another (what would be the point in this from GH's point of view?), it's just about another way to reap money from players under a different cover.
I would rather say that not having every dungeon being a whaley swipe fest is already a big concession by Gungho / a for-profit organization.

Got my stone :) Managed 131k which I was pleasantly surprised at.
Room for improvement... if I can be bothered!

There are different ways to take people's money though, aren't there?
A crown by your name gets you noticed and so is spend worthy for some of us. In this tournament dungeon, it looks as if the difference between being in the top few percent and actually getting a crown is going to be an extreme skyfall for a D/L Anubis pair, leading to very high max damage. So perhaps GH hope that the crown-seekers will buy a lot of stamina in order to just keep chasing one.
For those among us who only intend a few runs, I wonder if a better strategy to collect a decent score and a crop of short-of-crown goodies might be a 7x6 board maker (possibly Aten with his x5?) paired with Anubis. My feasible team for that would need a lot of Tamas and skill-ups for not much return though, so I probably won't be testing the idea myself.

This is interesting, because maybe you can consider that the whales who currently spend £10 for a crown when only competing with 20 other whales, will gladly spend £20 when they have to compete with the whole player base? And now when the 99% see they are in with a shot, maybe they will spend £1.

(maybe this is only valid in EU with small player base, the 99% in JP may see the position differently)

Gungho want to find something that looks fair, but makes them money, of course ;)

Agree, they're obviously trying to find the right balance.

Just saying: whales are at the brink of extinction xD

Ok enough of your jibber jabber, let's get down to the bones of this. Does no skills mean no active skills or no skills full stop. I'm a bit thick so I played with my top 5 atk monsters, but I noticed the lights coming on for my leader skills. It was a mostly green team so naturally no green orbs appeared so I couldn't tell if it worked. Dosey old Koopa needs to know before I go again.
