Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon is one of the demigods in Elden Ring, and players will battle her in the grand library of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. After defeating Rennala in this legacy dungeon, fans will need to make a decision about what to do next, and indeed there is a great deal of content available at this point in the game.

To note, this guide will assume that the reader wants to see everything that Elden Ring has to offer, including its optional questlines and secret areas. After Liurnia, assuming the player has defeated Godrick, there’s still plenty left to do before the next major required boss. Updated September 11, 2022 by Erik Petrovich : In Elden Ring after Rennala players may find themselves at a loss of what to do.

When it comes to where to go after Rennala, players have three major options (and plenty of smaller ones) – explore Liurnia, explore Caelid, or explore underground. Though the Altus Plateau is technically available at this point in the game, you have to get through the side path rather than the Dectus Lift, and the Altus Plateau is significantly harder than Liurnia.

What is the most popular class in Elden Ring?

Best Elden Ring classes for beginner players – Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy (Image credit: Bandai Namco)

  • Vagabond: The Vagabond is arguably the best Elden Ring classes for beginners. Melee builds are generally easy to pick up without having to familiarize yourself with loads of in-game systems, making them great for players unaccustomed to FromSoftware gameplay. The Vagabond’s high Vigor makes it forgiving, and the good Strength and Dexterity gives players the freedom to try all sorts of melee armaments.
  • Hero: Similar to the Vagabond, the Hero class in Elden Ring is a starting point for melee-focused builds. With Strength as its best starting Attribute, this class is all about dealing lots of damage with each hit. If you’re not interested in experimenting with magic or more complex Dexterity-scaling weapons, choose the Hero for a pure melee-combat experience.
  • Confessor: If you’re on the fence about committing to magic or weapons-based combat, the Confessor is a good Elden Ring class to start with. It allows players to dip into the complexities of Incantations without fully sacrificing too much in terms of melee capabilities for a balanced build early on.

What should I choose after killing Rennala?

Explore Liurnia of the Lakes – Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy Before leaving Liurnia of the Lakes, players should perform a thorough exploration of the area, especially if it wasn’t explored before taking on Raya Lucaria itself. There are some things that really ought to be done before heading to the Altus Plateau, because later in the game these areas become laughably easy.

Complete Caria Manor, a Legacy Dungeon at the northwest corner of Liurnia. After working through the manor, players should continue west, enter Ranni’s Rise, and initiate, Fans should also stop by Seluvis’s Rise, which is just southeast of Ranni’s, to start another questline. Complete several steps in, Continue, Visit the Rose Church to the south of Raya Lucaria Academy to, Start by speaking with her just east of the Scenic Isle Site of Grace. in Academy Gate Town southeast of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Take a trip to the Village of the Albinaurics in the southwest corner of Liurnia and search for the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right). Complete the Lakeside Crystal Cave and start Latenna’s questline – just remember to not take the teleporter back to the entrance of the dungeon, as she is outside the boss room.

Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy After taking care of Liurnia, players are free to head to Caelid, the area to the east of Limgrave. Fans can reach Caelid by following the path that runs along the north side of Limgrave, or by taking the teleporting chest beneath Limgrave’s Dragonburnt Ruins to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel.

Continue Alexander Iron Fist’s questline by exploring the Gael Tunnel in west Caelid – he can also be encountered from the other side, though you won’t be able to open the door. Explore Sellia, Town Of Sorcery, through which players can access the upper levels of Caelid, the Church of the Plague, and the Dragonbarrow. Work on, which begins with a trip to Gowry’s Shack to the east of the Aeonia Swamp and features several steps that take place in Caelid. Visit Fort Faroth in the Dragonbarrow, a sub-area of Caelid, and collect the Dectus Medallion (Right). Travel to the Bestial Sanctum in the northeast corner of the area. Players that have been working on D’s questline may have already visited this location. Head to Redmane Castle and defeat General Radahn, likely the third demigod you will have faced up to this point. You don’t technically need to defeat Radahn if you already have two Great Runes.

Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy Trips to two underground locations are the final acts that players should perform before visiting the legacy dungeon with the third demigod. The first underground location is Ainsel River, which can be accessed through the Ainsel River Well to the north of the Study Hall in east Liurnia.

Though the majority of this area, and several connected areas, can’t be accessed until later, this initial part of the Ainsel River is well worth exploring for crafting materials, some unique armaments and armors, and a visually-upsetting boss. The other location is the Siofra River, which can be accessed through the Siofra River Well near the Minor Erdtree in the Mistwood of Limgrave.

Players should make sure that they find in the Siofra River before leaving, especially if Ranni the Witch’s questline has been started. This area is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the game, so take your time and try not to die to the archers.

Who should I beat after Rennala?

The road to Leyndell – Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy (Image credit: Bandai Namco) Assuming you want to follow the main story in Elden Ring, defeating Queen Rennala will put you somewhere between one-third and one-half of the way there, depending on how much other stuff you’ve explored along the way. But while the path to Rennala was fairly straightforward, finding the next area is a whole adventure in and of itself.

  1. The first thing you should do is revisit Roundtable Hold (check our Elden Ring tips if you need a refresher) and speak to Gideon Ofnir.
  2. He’ll tell you that your next objective should be Leyndell, the Royal Capital.
  3. He won’t tell you how to get there, naturally, but he’s right: Leyndell is where the game’s plot continues, and where you’ll face off against two more bosses who are vital to the story.

Leyndell lies on the far side of the Altus Plateau, a golden grassland that lies to the northeast of Raya Lucaria. Once you reach Altus, simply head east, and you’ll eventually find it. There’s only one way in, through the East Capital Rampart, and you’ll have to confront quite a few tough bosses in the overworld before you reach it.

  1. My recommendation is to explore Altus thoroughly in order to level up and upgrade your weapon.
  2. There is only one problem, however: You can’t simply walk from Raya Lucaria to Altus.
  3. You can either fight your way through the Ruin-Strewn Precipice (recommended) or gather both halves of the Dectus Medallion (not recommended).

The Ruin-Strewn Precipice is the easier route of the two — “easier” being the operative word, and not “easy.” Head almost due north of Raya Lucaria, but stay in the water; don’t ride up onto dry land. You’ll eventually come into a narrow canyon that leads to the Ruin-Strewn Precipice Entrance.

Climb your way through the ruins and confront a tough boss at the end. You’ll emerge in Altus. The other option is to collect the two halves of the Dectus Medallion, which will let you access the Grand Lift of Dectus. You can find the left half of the medallion in Fort Haight: a small dungeon in the eastern part of Limgrave.

The enemies here are pretty simple, and there’s no boss to fight. The right half of the medallion, however, is located in Fort Faroth, a remote dungeon in western Caelid. Caelid is an incredibly tough area, and you probably haven’t explored it yet. This is not the ideal time to start, but if you insist, you can find out how further down on this page.

Should I take the main gate into the castle?

Take Stormveil castle gate or the opening? – Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy (Image credit: Bandai Namco) Godrick the Grafted Elden Ring What To Do After The Academy (Image credit: FromSoftware) Heading into Stormveil, it won’t be long before you need to know how to beat Godrick in Elden Ring, Check out how to beat the castle’s final boss at our guide above! When you first approach Stormveil castle gate you’ll see the portcullis firmly closed.

However, as you approach, you’ll be called into a side door on the left by a lengthy character with some advice. Speak to him and he’ll tell you that if you take the main gate you’ll find it ‘tightly guarded by old hands’. While, on the other hand, the opening will allegedly get you into the castle via a breach, undetected.

The good news here is that long boy is telling the truth: the opening is the safest way. It will take you around the side of the castle, where you can then use a ledge to reach a breach in the walls and eventually get into the main structure.
