Where is Boc after the cave?
Third Encounter – You can later find Boc The Seamster at the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes, He is glad to see you and offers to make adjustments to your garments.
- From now on, he will be able to alter the garments of the player.
- Some armor pieces can be changed to an alternative design. This service is free of charge. This will lower the stats of the affected armor piece, but for the most part is cosmetic as the stat drop is generally very minor. (This function basically removes the cape from armor pieces.)
His quest can be continued if these three conditions are met:
- Retrieve the Gold Sewing Needle from the Church of Vows on the east side of Liurnia of the Lakes,
- Buy at least one piece of legendary boss armor that can be altered from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold, Note that only demigod armor counts as “legendary”, so armor such as Briar Armor won’t work despite being alterable and sold by Enia.
- You have spoken to Melina about Boc at the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace.
This enables the option to give him the Gold Sewing Needle, which makes it possible to alter legendary armor as well. If you do not have the option to give him the gold sewing needle then, either:
- You do not have the Gold Sewing Needle in your inventory
- You do not have legendary armor that can be altered in your inventory. Remember, like all the other (non-boss) armor found in the game, not all of it can be altered. Same rule applies to Boc and the gold needle. In addition, only armor worn by demigods is considered legendary.
NOTE : You can skip seeing him here and still find him at later at different locations, depending on progress.

Where did boc go?
The Coastal Cave – 
Boc will appear next at the Coastal Cave, an optional location on the shore to the west of Limgrave, directly west from where the player first enters the open world (marked in red on the map). Boc can be found lying injured near the cave entrance and asks the player to leave before they get hurt too.
Ignore Boc’s warning and venture into the cave, facing off against the Demi-Human Chief boss fight. Besting this boss (which can be made easier by calling on the NPC summon outside the boss door, and by using stealth and the available bushes to approach the enemy without being seen) allows players to retrieve the sewing needle and tailoring tools (the Tailoring tools allow players to adjust their clothes themselves at the cost of 500 souls per adjustment).
Return the sewing needle to Boc and exhaust his dialog, which will cause him to leave the cave once the player rests at a Site of Grace or otherwise causes the world to update.

Elden Ring Boc’s Sewing Needle Location – Where To Find – Boc’s questline starts when you find the NPC east of the Limgrave Telescope at the location marked on my map below. As you can see, Boc is very close to the Gatefront Ruins we fully covered here ; however, you won’t be able to spot it right away. Therefore when you reach the location marked on my map above, you’ll hear a voice coming from a bush or a tree. The Elden Ring talking tree is, in fact, Boc, so you’ll need to find him. In the image below, you can see the exact tree or Boc. Now, you’ll need to remove Boc’s spell, and this is done simply by hitting him once. After he recovers, you’ll have to talk to him twice, and he’ll give you 10 Mushrooms. Furthermore, he’ll tell you about his lost Swing Needle that you have to recover.
- Once he does that, he disappears to the second location if you move away.
- Now, if you wonder where to find Boc the second time, the answer is Coastal Cave because he’s looking for his needle.
- You’ll find him at the Coastal Cave Site of Grace, but he’s injured.
- The next step in his quest is to clear the Coastal Cave and defeat the two bosses because one of them carries the Sewing Needle, as we explained in our walkthrough here,
It is worth pointing out that even if you already have the Sewing Needle, he still moves to the Coastal Cave Site of Grace (or the second location), and you won’t be able to give him the key item when you first meet him. Upon retrieving Boc’s Sewing Needle, he’ll once more relocate to the area near Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace, further to the north, behind Stormveil Castle. Boc appears only in the morning and evening, it seems. After you exhaust all the dialogues, you can use him to perform alterations to your gear which you can already do at any Site of Grace without using his Sewing Needle. Regardless you still have to talk to him, and he’ll relocate again.

This will make Boc abandon his desire to be reborn. With that, you will no longer be able to give him a Larval Tear. This also means that he’ll be kept safe from dying, story-wise.
