How to find the Spirit Calling Bell in Elden Ring – Your search for the Spirit Calling Bell begins at the Church of Elleh’s Site of Grace. Head to the Stranded Graveyard, and go north as soon as you make it to the main world. Move east on the main path to travel to the Gatefront Ruins. There’s a Site of Grace here at both sides of the ruins.
Rest your weary bones at either Site of Grace and the mysterious young lady Melina in her flowing black robe will materialize. Melina has an offering for you: your spectral steed, Torrent. Once you’ve acquired this horse, arguably the most nimble in the game, be sure to rest until nightfall at the Site of Grace near Melina.
Return to the Church of Elleh, and speak to the witch named Renna there. When you speak to her, she’ll ask you if you can summon Torrent. Reply “yes” to her inquiry. When you’ve done so, she will gift you with the Spirit Calling Bell as well as the Lone Wolf Ashes. It’s important that you visit Renna early on in your quest to become Elden Lord. At some pint, she will cease to wait around for you at the Church of Elleh. If this happens, you aren’t completely out of luck. You’ll have to purchase the Spirit Calling Bell later at Roundtable Hold from the Twin Husks merchant.

Where can I get another summoning bell?
How to get the Spirit Calling Bell in Elden Ring – To be able to summon spirits from ashes in Elden Ring, you need a special item called “Calling Bell”. There is only one known way to get it – from Renna the witch. You will find Renna most likely at the Church of Elleh Grace checkpoint.
- She is sitting on the eastern ruined wall of the church.
- This is the same place where you meet the first vendor in Elden Ring – Kale.
- The Church of Elleh is most likely the second Grace checkpoint you will discover once you reach the first area Limgrave after the tutorial.
- It is directly to the north from where you start the game.
Past the Tree Sentinel, which you should most likely skip when you first encounter it. You may have already been here before if you followed my guide on how to get your mount Torrent, If you don’t yet know how to reveal and use the map in Elden Ring, I have a great guide to help you take full advantage of it! Renna is a spirit. She is dressed in a furry cloak and wears a wizard’s pointy hat. It is very likely that you will not see Renna the first time you visit this place. If that is the case, explore a bit more of the Lands Between and return later to check again. I found her after I went on to explore the Stormfoot Catacombs, where you will find some Ashes by the way – the Wandering Noble Ashes. This item allows you to summon five spirits of noblemen to fight for you. They provide an excellent distraction in crowded places, but can’t take much beating. After you talk to Renna, she will give you the item you need to be able to summon spirits. It’s called “Spirit Calling Bell”. All you have to do is talk to this NPC. The item is granted to you for free. In the conversation, Renna asks if you can summon your Torrent yet. I had my mount, so I answered yes. I don’t know what would happen if you answer negatively. At least this is a sign that you can meet Renna before you get to the third lost grace location to get your mount. Renna will give you the Lone Wolf Ashes for free. This is an item you can use to summon three wolves. They are very ferocious and fast. They don’t have a large health pool (unless upgraded, but that’s a topic for another guide).

How do I summon maiden Melina?
Melina Questline: How to complete Melina’s Quest – (Melina does not have a traditional completable ” NPC Quest “, since she’s so strongly tied with the “Main Quest” of the game, but the following lists the opportunities for interaction)
After resting at a Site of Grace (outside of the Church of Elleh ) on the overland, Melina will manifest herself and reflect on the absence of a guidance during your journey so far, appearing out of the air with a blueish aura around her. Melina proposes an accord: to act as your “maiden”, that is, as a guide throughout your journey, for you are “maidenless”. In exchange, she requests you take her with you to the Erdtree. She volunteers to “turn your Runes into strength”, enabling you to level up your character. She will also bequeath a ring, the Spectral Steed Whistle, allowing you to summon the spectral steed Torrent who has “chosen you”. At the next Site of Grace you rest at before entering Stormveil Castle, selecting the “Talk to Melina” option will trigger a conversation about the Sites of Grace. During this, Melina conveys the golden auras at the different Sites of Grace are in fact the grace of the Erdtree, and by following them, the grace will guide you through your burden. She informs you that a Shardbearer resides in Stormveil Castle, and that if the rays signal the castle, the Elden Ring is beckoning you. At the next Site of Grace you rest at before entering Stormveil Castle, selecting the “Talk to Melina” option will trigger a conversation with Melina about her purpose, where she describes her search for her purpose and also apologizes for acting as a Finger Maiden while being unable to offer guidance, as she is “no maiden” and without purpose. At the Third Church of Marika, when resting at the grace and selecting the “Talk to Melina” option, Melina will appear and declare that spoken echoes of Queen Marika the Eternal are present, and if you wish she will convey them to you. Select the “I’m interested” dialogue option and she will continue to describe the echoes. At the Church of Pilgrimage, in the north of the Weeping Peninsula, when resting at the grace and selecting the “Talk to Melina” option, Melina will again appear and give the option to elucidate on the echoes. Upon reaching the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace (or any grace in Leyndell), Melina will appear and say that she will be leaving, but that she will let you keep Torrent and the ability to turn runes into power. She reasserts her confidence that you will become the Elden Lord. Melina may be summoned for the fight against Morgott, the Omen King via a sign directly outside the boss arena. After defeating Morgott, trying and failing to enter the Erdtree and resting at the Elden Throne Site of Grace, Melina appears. She offers a new accord: to bring her “to the flame of ruin, far above the clouds, upon snowy mountaintops of the giants”, so she can set the Erdtree aflame, and help you become Elden Lord. Melina will then have additional dialogue when resting at certain Sites of Grace, the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace for example. She will remind the player of the new goal in the land of the giants. She can then be spoken to a second time, and she will say that although her purpose was giving to her by her mother, she is now acting on her own volition and has “set heart upon the world that would have. Regardless of mother’s designs.” Melina must be talked to in the Forge of the Giants Grace, and her quest will be fulfilled.
If the player has inherited the Frenzied Flame despite Melina pleading them not to do it, Melina will not appear in this grace. Instead, she will appear after the ending of the game if the player continues with the Frenzied Flame path, and will threaten the Lord of Frenzied Flame with Destined Death.
What level is best to fight Margit?

(Image credit: Bandai Namco) The Elden Ring Margit boss fight is the first mandatory boss fight, and players will have to learn summoning, rolling and stamina control for the best chance at victory. Margit the Fell Omen is tough, but that’s sort of the point – he’s meant to be a wall that you bounce off a couple of times, to encourage you to explore all of Limgrave and find whatever you can to succeed.
In fact, there’s a lot you can do early on for the best success rate, including finding Margit’s Shackles, a special item that’ll actually keep Margit held down for a little while! However, as long as you spend in the surrounding region, eventually you’ll have to fight Margit, as he act as a bottleneck to the next phase of Elden Ring,
To help you secure your first great victory, our full Elden Ring Margit boss fight guide well help you fell the Fell Omen and earn your way into Stormveil.
The recommended level for Margit the Fell Omen is at least 20, ideally 25+. You should also use weapons of +3 or more.
What magic is Margit weak to?
Margit doesn’t have any blatant weaknesses, but if you are looking to deal some extra elemental or affliction damage, then Fire is a good place to start, especially since you can learn how to make Firebombs fairly early. It’s also an easy weakness for a spellcaster to exploit, if you have any Intellect.
- Not an insult, by the way – swinging a sword can be smart too.
- Another option is Bleed damage, which is particularly effective, and easily accessible with the Samurai starting class.
- Upgrading the Uchigatana and adding a weapon art is easy in the early areas before Margit, and will give you better Strength/Dexterity scaling, in addition to big Bleed damage.
Slashing Margit until you inflict Bleed will offer you great damage. For one more weakness, Margit’s fight is actually easier with an additional item: Margit’s Shackle. You can purchase this from Patches the Untethered, a boss in Murkwater Cave, found in West Limgrave. Margit is vicious in both phases, but luckily he doesn’t change too much. Once you’ve adjusted to Margit’s first phase, learning the second won’t be too difficult. Margit’s large staff gets swung around a lot. It has far more range than you might initially expect, so if you’re a melee class you will want to get in close and learn to dodge those attacks instead of run away.
Margit has a fairly slow jumping plunge attack, and this is the nicest attack, as you can easily strafe around to his back to escape damage and ready your weapon. He has plenty of swings, some swift, some a bit slower. In general you should roll towards the attacks, and attack once or twice to counter – unless you feel confident enough to go for more.
- Just watch that stamina.
- When up close Margit can pull out a magical, ethereal dagger or sword for some quicks slashes.
- Even worse, Margit will jump back and throws daggers to ready his next move, or just throw daggers as you try to heal.
- As such, you try to heal when Margit is stuck in an attack animation, and strafe left or right.
Luckily the dagger doesn’t do too much damage, so it’ll still be worth healing even if you get hit. In his first phase Margit will rarely launch four attacks in a row, and telegraphs his toughest attacks quite blatantly. Some patience will have you rolling around his moves and doing damage in no time.
Yes, Margit’s second phase is similar to the first but will end up feeling far more challenging. You will know Margit’s second phase is coming when he speaks a voice line and adds a giant magic hammer to his arsenal of weapons. He starts this phase with a leap into the air.
His basic attack strings are far more aggressive now. In phase one a four attack string is rare – in phase two it’s pretty common, in addition to a tail swing attack for when you’re at his back. He even will even run at you after charging some of his strikes if you back away too much, just to catch you off guard.
Combo attacks from the dagger are scary but don’t do much damage, so can be blocked if you’re afraid to roll. You will need to watch for more of Margit’s aggressive combinations, rolling around his back as often as you can – while watching for that tricky tail swipe – but if you’ve learned everything you need from the first phase, this phase will quickly follow.

Where do I get the Wraith summoning bell?
To get the exploitative, boss-slaying Wraith Calling Bell in Elden Ring, Tarnished must explore a small ruin found within Liurnia of the Lakes. The Wraith Calling Bell is a reusable Tool in Elden Ring that consumes 7 FP to summon a Wraith that will chase down a single target. The damage output of the Wraith is suboptimal to dedicate the bell for frequent combat. Yet, the projectile features both exceptional range and tracking, reaching enemies beyond the max lock-on distance.
- Furthermore, the bell can be rung in succession to cast one Wraith after another in Elden Ring and can also be used atop Torrent.
- The Wraith Calling Bell ringing animation is shared with the Spirit Calling Bell.
- However, the main appeal of the Wraith Calling Bell is its ability to exploit the Ash of War: Carian Retaliation.
After summoning a single Wraith, Tarnished can parry the projectile mid-air with a shield imbued with Carian Retaliation, causing three retaliatory Glintblades to spawn and launch at a single target after a brief delay. The attack power of the Glintblades is significantly higher than the base damage of the Wraith Calling Bell.
- Moreover, the FP cost and cast time are highly efficient for the damage output.
- As a result, multiple Rememberance speedrunners use the bell as their “primary weapon” to quickly take down bosses in Elden Ring,
- To get the Wraith Calling Bell, Tarnished must explore the Laskyar Ruins in Liurnia of the Lakes.
Elden Ring fans can find this location by following the marshland trail northwest from the East Liurnia Map Fragment. It should be noted that although the bell can be acquired from the very start of one’s adventure, the exploitative Ash of War: Carian Retaliation only becomes available once Tarnished have defeated the boss of Caria Manor, Royal Knight Loretta.

How do you summon another Elden Ring?
Elden Ring co-op: how to summon friends – (Image credit: Future) Now that you have everything you need to summon, it’s time to understand how summoning signs and summoning pools work. Summon signs work like in previous games. When you use a Furlcalling Finger Remedy, you can see the summon signs laid down by players in your area.
Conversely, by using the Tarnished’s Furled Finger, you can place your sign down in a location you think will be useful. Elden Ring has a new addition too – the summoning pool. These are marked by Martyr Effigies found within dungeons and near bosses in the world. Activate the effigy to use your Small Golden Effigy and send your summon sign to the pool.
It will appear near whichever summoning pool you have just activated, as well as other ones in the area. This makes the new feature a quick, reliable way to get into a multiplayer game with anyone. The way to guarantee you play with your friends in Elden Ring is to use Multiplayer Passwords.
