How do I start the Alexander quest?
Step 1: Starting Alexander’s Quest – 
Alexander’s quest begins on Stormhill in Limgrave. Travel east along the road from the Warmaster’s Shack, and pick off the soldiers and mercenaries as you go. You’ll eventually hear a voice calling for help. Climb up the hill on your right to find Alexander stuck in the ground.
If you speak with him, he asks you to give him a good whack from behind to help push him free. Use a fully charged attack with a normal or strike weapon, and he’ll pop right out. Speak with Alexander again. He’ll hand over some Exalted Flesh, which temporarily boosts your attack power by 20 percent, and mentions a combat festival being held at Redmane Castle in Caelid.
That’s all you can do with him for now. You can find Alexander again in a few locations after this, but if you’re still just getting started in Elden Ring, the quest’s next full step is still a while off.

How do you trigger Alexander?
Alexander at Redmane Castle – To trigger Alexander’s appearance at Redmane Castle, you must have progressed Ranni the Witch’s Questline to the point that you have spoken to Blaidd, Sellen, and Seluvis. More information on that can be found in the following walkthroughs:

NOTE: If you have not spoken to Alexander in either Limgrave or Caelid, he will still show up at Redmane Castle and will simply introduce himself here. However, he will not return to Gael Tunnel or Limgrave, but can instead next be found in Liurnia. Optionally speak to him in the courtyard with the other NPCs awaiting the festival, and then speak to Castellan Jerren to unlock the boss fight with Starscourge Radahn,
- We recommend summoning Alexander for this fight, as it will cause him to appear in the boss arena after Radahn has been defeated, allowing you to converse with him to learn his plans for where he’ll be going next, as well as get some insight into how Warrior Jars are made.
- Exhaust his dialogue here, and then continue through your game as normal.

How do I free Alexander the first time?
Free Alexander from the ground near Saintsbridge –

Follow his calls for help and you’ll eventually find him wedged in the ground on top of a cliff. Speak to him and he’ll ask you to give him a wallop (hit him from the back with a weapon) to free him.

Legendary Infantry Commander, Alexander the Great, is one of the strongest defenders in the game. He is a Tank commander, resistant, defensive and despite his great endurance capacity, he is still an offensive commander in turn since he improves the infantry’s attack to more than 60%. Alexander as an infantry commander has an almost impenetrable defence, his skills both active and passive make him a strong leader capable of pushing back any enemy. His role as a commander in both the Primary and Secondary game is excellent, he performs as a unique commander in his style thanks to the effectiveness he has in any situation or task that we assign him.
How do I talk to Alexander in lava?
First you’ll find Iron Fist Alexander stuck in a hole on the way to Caelid, He’s making his way to Redmane Castle for the Radahn Festival, but got himself trapped on the way. You can find him East of Warmaster’s Shack, off the main path to the right just before the bridge. Go behind Alexander and hit him with your weapon to get him free. 
Next you can find Alexander in Gael Tunnel, in a room here, still making his way to Redmane Castle. You can find Gael Tunnel using our Moonveil katana location guide, 
Once you arrive at Redmane Castle and the Festival begins, the enemies will be cleared out and you’ll find Alexander in the main courtyard, along with Blaidd and the Witch Hunter, You will need to have progressed Ranni’s questline to get to this point. 
Next you’ll have to fight Starscourge Radahn after talking to the announcer at the festival. You can summon Iron Fist Alexander, along with Blaidd, Patches, and others during the fight. After the fight, you can speak with Blaidd and Alexander on the battlefield. Make sure to do so. Alexander is collecting the remains of warriors inside him to make himself stronger. 
After this Alexander will once again get himself stuck, this time behind the Carian Study Hall, just above Jarburg, Talk to him and attempt to free him in the same way as before. It won’t work. We need something more. You will need Oil Jars, Hopefully, you will already be able to craft these, as they don’t require much in the way of materials. 
Here he will give you a hint about where he comes from, which is Jarburg just below. If you haven’t made your way down there and met Jar-Bairn yet, do so, and progress his quest. 
Next Iron Fist Alexander will make his way to Mt. Gelmir, You can find him in the area which contains a Magma Wyrm from our Comet Azur location guide, He’s sat in the lava, practically boiling himself. You can talk to him safely by standing on a nearby rock pillar. 
He will reward you with the Jar, a helm which is, well, a jar. Or pot. It’s cool, as it enhances the power of jar items. His last words are a hint as to his final location. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite make our list of 10 best armor pieces, 
Finally, Iron Fist Alexander will be found at Farum Azula, From the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace, run across the ruins and you’ll find Alexander waiting on a floating platform at the location on the map above. Here he will say his final request is a challenge. You have to fight and kill Iron Fist Alexander – a shame, because he’s a lovely bloke, honestly. 
Once the deed is done, Alexander will drop the Shard of Alexander talisman, which boosts the attack power of skills, and Alexander’s Innards, A bit grotesque, but okay. 
If you’ve progressed the Jar-Bairn questline to its final stage, you can now take Alexander’s Innards to Jar-Bairn in Jarburg, which will prompt him to leave the village to become a warrior. What if I missed my first encounter with Alexander?
Step 4: Defeat Radahn – If you missed talking to Alexander at his first two locations, the Warrior Jar will still attend Radahn’s Festival at Redmane Castle, You can speak to him in the courtyard before the fight and summon him during the battle; his flailing arms and unwavering spirit should prove invaluable in the fight against Radahn.

What unlocks after beating Radahn?
Elden Ring is a truly gigantic game, so much so that it can be hard to decide what to do next after clearing a major obstacle. General Radahn is one such crossroads in Elden Ring where players have a few different directions they can go after beating the gravity-manipulating main boss.
After beating General Radahn a handful of new areas unlock, several questlines can be progressed, and of course, there’s always the choice between using his Remembrance for equipment or Runes. If you think you’re getting close to beating Elden Ring after defeating the Starscourge, think again – the Radahn Festival is barely at the halfway point.

Win, and he’ll bequeath you Alexander’s Innards, a key item, and Shard of Alexander, a talisman that increases the damage you cause with Ash of War skills.
Step 12: Back to Jarburg again To complete this quest, head back to Jarburg and give Jar Bairn Alexander’s Innards. In order for the option to be available, you must have spoken with him and with Diallos in Jarburg enough times to see their story to their conclusion — that includes the village being attacked by a poacher, and Diallos dying to defend it.
You’ll get Diallos’s Mask after reloading the area following the character’s death. 
And, with that, the stories of Alexander, Diallos, and Jar Bairn all come to a close.
