Where to Find the Golden Scarab Talisman in Elden Ring – The Golden Scarab Talisman can be found in the Abandoned Cave in Caelid, just east of the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace. You will come to a cliffside with a large branch that extends over a chasm to a cavern. Hop onto this branch, and cross to the other side to find the cave opening.
- This dangerous dungeon is filled with environmental hazards and the floors are often covered in Scarlet Rot, but it’s worth traversing for the Golden Scarab.
- After you rest at the dungeon’s Site of Grace, go forward, and drop down into the pool of Rot.
- Avoid the geysers that inflict status effect damage and regular damage on the way to the Golden Scarab.
Remember: you cannot run while in Scarlet Rot pools, so time your movements very carefully. Avoid dodging to move faster as well; when you roll in Elden Ring, the Scarlet Rot spreads faster. Eventually, you will find a room with a Giant Poison Flower and a bunch of smaller flowers.
On the other side, climb up a short hill and avoid the two enemies firing Poison from their staves. If you are playing a Faith build, the Incantation Fire, Cleanse Me is a useful support spell that heals both Poison and Scarlet Rot. Otherwise, you’ll need Boluses handy. Once you reach the fog gate, you will find the Cleanrot Knight, a seemingly manageable boss, until he is joined by his buddy, that is.
Defeat this duo of knights to get the Golden Scarab Talisman and never visit this dungeon again. And that’s where you find the Golden Scarab Talisman in Elden Ring, If you’re hoping to farm Runes, there’s no better item to help you than the Golden Scarab.

How do you get the Golden Scarab in Elden Ring?
Where to find the Gold Scarab talisman – The Gold Scarab talisman is obtained by defeating the two bosses at the end of the Abandoned Cave in Caelid. Reaching this dungeon is a little tricky, though-as is tackling the cave itself. From the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace in Caelid, head east toward the nearby cliffside where you’ll notice a tree branch that you can cross to reach a fairly well-hidden cave on the opposite cliffside.
- This is the Abandoned Cave, and it sucks.
- It sucks really bad.
- Abandoned Cave This horrific dungeon requires you to navigate multiple rooms full of Scarlet Rot, damaging geysers, and irritating enemies like Miranda Flowers and Servants of Rot trying to interrupt you along the way.
- It’s a truly frustrating experience to reach the final boss room, and once you do, you’re in for an annoying showdown.
The bosses of the Abandoned Tunnel include two Cleanrot Knights, which can be a hellacious fight for those who haven’t leveled up. If you return late in the game, this encounter will be much easier, though. So if you don’t absolutely have to have the Gold Scarab talisman early, maybe wait a bit to face these guys.

What if I miss a scarab Elden Ring?
What are Elden Ring Teardrop Scarabs? – Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central) As we previously mentioned, Teardrop Scarabs are essentially Elden Ring ‘s new version of Dark Souls’ Crystal Lizard. However, there are some key differences that make Teardrop Scarabs unique.
- Firstly, they not only attempt to run away from the player, but will also try and lead them into nearby enemies if there are any.
- Secondly, instead of running away on a set path, Teardrop Scarabs will change direction depending on the locations of both players trying to chase them down as well as physical obstacles, such as crates or other objects.
Finally, there are also three different types of Teardrop Scarabs in Elden Ring, whereas there was only one type of Crystal Lizard in Dark Souls. The types of Teardrop Scarabs are as follows:
Crimson Teardrop Scarabs: Red-colored Teardrop Scarabs that refill your Flask of Crimson Tears when killed. Cerulean Teardrop Scarabs: Blue-colored Teardrop Scarabs that refill your Flask of Cerulean Tears when killed. Silver Teardrop Scarabs: Silver-colored Teardrop Scarabs that drop useful combat unlocks or items.
Silver Teardrop Scarabs are the most important of the three types to hunt down, as they drop a variety of permanent items that can greatly benefit you in combat. These are usually Ashes of War, but some Silver Teardrop Scarabs drop weapons, incantations, and sorceries as well.
Note that if you’re unable to catch a Teardrop Scarab before it moves to an inaccessible location or vanishes, you can “respawn” it by resting at a Site of Grace. Once you kill it, however, the Teardrop Scarab will be gone permanently. Elden Ring is finally here, and it’s available for $60 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.

What is the best talisman for malenia?
Elden Ring From Very rarely am I desperately trying to beat content so I can sit down and write a guide for it, but in order to explain how to actually beat Elden Ring’s hardest boss, Malenia, as a mage, I had toactually beat her first. Well, after a few hours of trial and error between last night and this morning, I’ve done it.
And I will share how I did it with you, as once I figured out a few things, it got a whole lot easier. So, I’m a mage, and while the Malenia fight is rough for anyone, it is especially so for someone who has to wind-up casts and where most of their spells plink off her like they’re nothing. Here are the core components of my kit, most of which you will get a result of Ranni’s questline at one point or another: Elden Ring From Black Knife Tiche ( get her here ) – This is one of the best summons in the game and a perfect counter to Malenia.
She will dodge enough so Malenia will not auto-feed health off of her on-hit, and her cursed blade move will do significant DPS and offset a lot of her healing. Greenburst Crystal Tear ( get it here ) – Boosts stamina recovery in the mixed physick Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear ( get it here ) – Boosts Magic damage in the mixed physick Bloodhound’s Step ( get it here ) – This was essential.
I should have been using this long before now, but I put it on a pair of claws, and it allows you to drastically out-dodge most of Malenia’s attacks, even her craziest ones, for just a small amount of FP. I don’t think I could have beaten it without this. Make sure you put your staff in your offhand so you can actually use this on whatever you put it on.
I had it on claws. Carian Regal Scepter ( get it here ) – This is my maxed scepter that makes my Dark Moons do bonus damage. Primal Glintstone Blade ( get it here ) – This reduces FP cost for a bit of health for more moon spam. Ritual Shield Talisman ( get it here ) – This reduces damage when you have full health which is great for Malenia’s chunking.
Cerulean Amber Medallion +2 ( get it here ) – Big FP boost Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +2 ( get it here ) – Big physical damage reduction, as all Malenia’s damage is physical, although if you get caught in a combo, nothing will save you.6 Crimson, 8 Cerulean Potions – This was the distribution I did, not really set one way or the other.
Snow Witch Hat ( get it here ) – This gives a 10% bonus to cold spells (my Dark Moon). The rest of your armor doesn’t really matter but I had a medium load. Ranni’s Dark Moon ( get it here ) – This was the phase 1 spell I spammed. Comet Azur ( get it here ) – This was the key phase 2 spell.
Terra Magica ( get it here ) – This I put down right at the start to shoot moons out of for a big damage boost. Phase 1 Strategy: Enter, summon Tiche, drink Physick, put down Terra Magica, start spamming Dark Moon. On a good run, Tiche will keep doing damage to her and knocking her down as you blast her with moons.
On a bad run she will spam her Waterfowl Dance move and you will have to do the Bloodhound Step boogie to avoid as much of it as you can. Try and make sure you head into phase 2 with full mana. Dead From Phase 2 Strategy: As soon as you spawn in, stay locked on, run toward Malenia to be directly under her (I know, it’s less crazy than it sounds), then turn hard right and keep going.
This should have her miss you with both phases of the move. Drink a mana potion if you have it, unleash Comet Azur and hold the button down (you can also use the FP eliminating Physick here as an alternate strategy). This will BURN through Malenia when she’s frozen for a short while after her flower. Essentially you’re just going to want to then dodge (mostly using Bloodhound’s Step) until she flowers again, which she should do if you’ve gotten her down to decently low health.
You can Bloodhound Step sideways on repeat to dodge all the clones of her one attack. For her advanced Waterfowl Dance I did not learn the pattern of that and got lucky she didn’t have time to use it during my victory run. Hopefully she will flower again in short order and you dodge it the same way, and hit her with another Comet Azur the same way, which should be enough to kill her.
- Alternatively you can luck out throwing a few moons if she’s going after Tiche, but you really don’t want to give her time to heal off either of you too much.
- Comet Azur is the main trick here as I don’t think you will be able to survive long enough spamming moons alone unless you pull off some truly crazy defensive dodges.
And there you have it, I beat her. It was easily the hardest fight in the game by a factor of ten. I think the most I died on any boss before this was probably 7-8 times on one of the cosmic centipedes. Here? This was 30-40 attempts easy. But it’s possible! And if I can do it (I’m not very good) you can do it too with your mage.

How do you negate Scarlet Rot?
Consumables – Consumables are generally the go-to items for countering most status afflictions, and there are a few consumables that cure Scarlet Rot outright. The first item that will be of great use to you is Speckled Hardtear, which can be added to the Flask of Wonderous Physick to cure any affliction as well as boost immunity.
The Speckled Hardtear is obtained by defeating the Wormface boss at the Altus Plateau Minor Erdtree, Preserving Boluses is another consumable that can cure Scarlet Rot and alleviate its buildup. This consumable might be a better alternative than the last, as they can easily be found along your travels.
The Armorer’s Cookbook can be found in the Siofra River West from the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace, The materials needed to craft Preserving Boluses are 2 Dewkissed Herba, a Crystal Cave Moss, and a Sacramental Bud, Soap can also be used against Scarlet Rot.

Where can I farm scarabs Elden Ring?
How to get the Golden Scarab talisman in Elden Ring – (Image credit: FromSoftware) To get the Golden Scarab talisman and boost your Runes in Elden Ring, players should head to the region of Caelid, East of the starting Limgrave. Specifically they’re looking for an abandoned cave called er, the Abandoned Cave.
(Image credit: FromSoftware) On the far side of this area will be a ravine that blocks off your path, but there’s a large branch crossing it into the cliffside opposite – and leading to an open cavern (seen above). That’s the Abandoned Cave, but be very careful crossing the branch.
- Stepping anywhere but the very centre has a nasty habit of causing you to slide off the edge to your death (it’s a long drop).
- Once you’re inside, the challenges are only beginning.
- Use the Site of Grace, and make sure you have quite a few Preserving Boluses, or any item that can be used to cure Scarlet Rot.
Some poison cures wouldn’t go amiss either, but they’re not quite as essential if you’re careful.

Is the Golden Scarab permanent?
Elden Ring Gold Scarab Location Guide – Get the Rune Boosting Talisman In, the Gold Scarab talisman is all but essential for farming runes en masse. The well-hidden but incredibly useful item boosts the rate at which you acquire runes (the game’s term for XP or “souls” in previous FromSoft games) by about 20 percent.
It’s also a permanent upgrade. As long as you equip the talisman, of course. It even stacks with other rune acquisition buffs, like the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot consumable. This makes the Gold Scarab the equivalent of the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring from Dark Souls, You almost definitely want it in your arsenal.
The trick is finding the dang thing. That’s what this guide is for! We’ll help you find your very own Gold Scarab and make Elden Ring rune farming just a bit less painless. Let’s take a look. To begin, you need to have reached Caelid: the red, swampy region full of poisonous muck and horrible mutations.
You can enter the zone in one of two ways. One is simply following the roads. The street that leads northeast of Limgrave, starting at the Stormhill Shack where you meet Roderika, will eventually take you through Summonwater Village. Past there things take a turn for the crimson. Just a bit southeast of this entry point is a Birdseye Telescope and the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace.
If you have trouble finding either of these locations, remember that you can always see the telescopes as an icon on your map, and you can always find maps at the obelisk-like, The second way into Caelid lies under the Dragon-Burnt Ruins. These are the, um, dragon-burnt ruins in the lakebed of Limgrave.
- The very same lake where you can encounter your first dragon.
- You don’t need to fight the scaly one to get inside.
- Just run past him and the undead weaklings nearby.
- Amidst the rubble is a set of stairs leading down into a cellar.
- Open the chest in said cellar to transport into Caelid.
- This latter method into the swamp can be faster, in theory, but it’s more dangerous.
Taking the transporter will lock you in a place called Sellia Crystal Tunnel. You won’t be able to leave until you exit the dungeon and rest at a Site of Grace. Luckily, you can stealth your way through most of the tunnel. Then just ride Torrent southwest through the (rot-infested) swamp of Aeonia before turning north to reach the telescope.
- However you get to Caelid, start at the Smoldering Wall.
- Then head due east.
- You’ll pass one of those horrible chicken-dog enemies before reaching a single Abductor Virgin.
- These are the metal coffins on wheels, with chained weapons for arms.
- They’re also a pain to battle at almost any level.
- You can fight it or move past it.
If do you choose to fight it, note that Abductor Virgins take significantly less damage while their bodies are closed. You can use ranged attacks on their meaty insides when they open wide, but be careful not to let them eat you. Past this Abductor Virgin are piles and piles of the dead chicken-dogs.
- A handful in particular are strewn over a log to the east — just beside a cliff.
- Facing toward the cliff, look left of the log and its two corpses.
- There are more branches growing from this side of the cliff.
- You can walk across these to the other wall of a nearby canyon, using the dead tree as if it were a bridge.
And, if you’re playing online, you will probably already see messages and bloodstains to guide you at this point. All you need to do is reach the end of the branch. Dead ahead of you, hewn into this side of the canyon, is a cave. That is to say the Abandoned Cave dungeon.
Touch the grace inside and get ready for a fight. The Abandoned Cave is pretty straightforward. That doesn’t make it any less of a pain in the ass. The red goop inside will slowly give you the Scarlet Rot status effect. Think of this as super-poison, or the “Toxic” status from Dark Souls, And the red gas? That will automatically damage you when you walk through it.
Finally, the bubbling geysers on the ground are likely instant death if you stand on top of them as they erupt. All of this occurs while you’re forced to move slowly through the muck. Besides the boss, though, this first stretch is the worst the dungeon has to offer.
Use your anti-rot items and spells (e.g. Preserving Boluses and the Flame, Cleanse Me incantation) just after exiting the first swamp hallway. There’s much less Scarlet Rot deeper inside. Instead, you get to contend with mushroom wizards, giant rats, and Miranda Flowers. These basic enemies are trivial by comparison.
Though the boss room has even more Scarlet Rot to avoid. Speaking of which, the boss of this area is two Cleanrot Knights who greet you with incantations and spears. These are technically just normal enemies, juiced up with boss-sized health bars, but you need to contend with two at once.
Without Torrent. In an enclosed space Spirit Summoning or can help a great deal here. The Cleanrot Knights aren’t too terrible when they’re not both barreling down on you at once. Drawing their aggression will give you time to stagger (using jumping and charged attacks) and land critical hits. Focus on just one at first, if you can, and the second will go down much easier alone.
Your reward for all this goopy hell is the lovable Gold Scarab! Simply equip the talisman like any other item in the game and you’ll receive 20 percent extra runes all throughout your time in Elden Ring, Just don’t forget to take it off and replace it with a more useful talisman when a boss gives you major trouble.
