Upgrading Ashes with Roderika – Roderika is the only NPC in the game who can upgrade your Spirit Ashes. You’ll first find Roderika at Stormhill Shack in Limgrave, to the right of the road past Gatefront. Interact with Roderika here and exhaust her dialogue.
- Leave her be for now and make your way to Stormveil Castle.
- Press on until you arrive at the hall where the Grafted Scion is.
- On the southwest corner of this hall, you’ll find a door.
- Head through it and turn left.
- There’s a pile of dead bodies ahead that’s guarded by two dogs.
- There’s an item atop this pile.
Loot it to get the Chrysalid’s Memento. Once obtained, return to Roderika and give this item to her. After exhausting her dialogue here once more, she’ll tell you that she’ll head for the Roundtable Hold. That’s where you’ll find her next. 
Roderika will still go to the Roundtable Hold even if you don’t give her the Chrysalid’s Memento. She’ll get there on her own after you defeat Godrick and rest at a Site of Grace in Liurnia.

Note that many require a certain amount of FP, with more powerful/legendary Spirits requiring greater resources to cast. They are in an area where they can’t summon.
A purple icon appears on the left side of the screen when players are in an area where spirit summons are available. If you are not in one of these areas, you can’t summon.
