What does faith do in Elden Ring?
Faith is one of the Stats in Elden Ring, Stats refer to various properties that govern your character’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as how they are affected by interactions in and out of combat. Faith primarily affects a player’s ability to cast Incantations, as well as equipping the weapons required to cast them.
It is one of the 8 Main Attributes that players can spend Runes on to level up, increasing the Stat’s effectiveness and influencing their relative secondary stats. Stats such as Faith are an important aspect of character progression in Elden Ring. On weapons that do not have innate faith scaling, players can obtain certain whetblades to add specific elemental damage and affinities to a weapon when infusing it with Ashes of War,
Weapons that cannot be infused with Ashes of War cannot have scalings added. All scalings shown are currently listed at weapon level 1. Known scalings at max weapon level will be shown in parentheses.

Is poise useful in Elden Ring reddit?
Especially with the recent changes to Light roll. I can wear heavy AF armor, and still get staggered in a single hit if my opponent is using a heavy enough weapon.

Does poise do anything in Elden Ring Reddit?
r/Eldenring – Poise is not bad, the problem is how rare it is: A breakdown with math Elden Ring uses a passive poise system similar to Dark Souls 1, meaning if your poise value is higher than the poise damage of your opponent’s weapon you do not get staggered by the attack.
However, the poise values on most armor sets are abysmally low. Using FextraLife’s armor comparison table and Lost’s poise testing, I did a breakdown of how many armor sets can reach each poise breakpoint. For my method, I only counted sets with the full 4 pieces of armor since it’s unfair to count the sets with only 2 or 3 pieces.
This reduces the total number of sets from 126 to 94. I then went through each set and categorized them into groups based on which breakpoints they met. I found over half of all armor sets (55) cannot poise through any weapons at all and 84% of armor sets are unable to poise through a straight sword.
Even using the Bull-Goat’s Talisman, 70% of sets still cannot poise through a straight sword. These are not just fabric sets either. Plate and half-plate armor sets like Hoslow’s, fingerprint, Haligtree knight, and Maliketh’s don’t have the 41 poise needed to take a hit from rapiers, never mind the 51 needed for straight swords, fists, katanas, curved swords, spears, axes, and twin blades.
The Carian knight set, Bloodhound knight set, and Briar (Bell Bearing Hunter) set can’t poise through a dagger. Below is an infographic I prepared with some breakpoint information and a visual breakdown. As you can probably guess, this absolutely kills armor variety in PvP where poise is actually important.
The ability to walk through powerstanced curved swords or a halberd running attack and bonk your opponent with a hammer or blast them with a spell is incredibly powerful. Only 15 sets have more than 51 poise and you will basically only see combinations of these sets along with stat boosting hats in duels and on invaders who know how poise works.
I understand that not all armor should have meaningful poise, but there are so many armor sets that fall in the middle ground of being too heavy for people who don’t care about poise and lacking in poise for people who have the endurance to wear them.
I’m open to answering any questions in the comments. Here are the resources I used to gather this information:FextraLife “ARMOR SETS COMPARISON TABLE | ELDEN RING WIKI”Lost My Sanity “How Poise Works and the Breakpoints for each weapon Class | Elden Ring”

How important is a shield in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring: Should You Upgrade Shields – To put things simply, shields are absolutely worth upgrading even if an Elden Ring player never plans to use them offensively. This is because shields gain points of Guard Boost through strengthening them, though that stat does not increase by a full point every upgrade.
For the uninitiated, Guard Boost determines how much stamina is expended when an attack is blocked, with that stamina expenditure going to zero when the stat hits 100. For those shield-users that are looking to reach 100 Guard Boost with minimal investment, the Brass Shield is the best option. That is because this powerful Elden Ring shield can be equipped with just 16 strength, and it comes with a base Guard Boost of 56.
That stat can be increased to 65 by upgrading the Brass Shield to +18, and players can get the additional 35 points that they need to reach 100 Guard Boost by using the Barricade Shield skill. To assemble this setup, fans should make their way to the South Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace at the southeast corner of Elden Ring ‘s Academy of Raya Lucaria, Notably, Barricade Shield has a 15-second duration, which means that players may need to use it several times to maintain 100 Guard Boost for the entirety of a boss fight in Elden Ring, This should not prove to be very difficult, though, as Barricade Shield costs just 8 FP per activation.
