What are the final boss in Elden Ring?

‘Elden Ring’ Player One-Shots Final Bosses, Radagon And Elden Beast, In NG+7 Elden Ring Credit: FromSoftware Elden Ring remains my favorite game of 2022, and one of the best of FromSoftware’s SoulsBorne games. But as much as I adore the open-world RPG, I’m nothing like a top-tier player.

I haven’t gone on to beat the game on NG+ or spent hours in PvP (which, as a PvE player primarily, has never been what I enjoy about these games). Still, I can admire other players’ skills. And I can marvel at how players are able to put together such crazy builds in the game, combining consumables with spells or incantations and various bits of gear to create powerful, unstoppable builds.

Take, for instance, player ‘Your Average Gamer’ who managed to somehow craft a build that’s able to one-shot kill both Radagon and the Elden Beast in NG+7—the highest difficulty run you can make. Radagon and Elden Beast are the game’s final bosses, an infuriating pair that I find enormously challenging (not so much Radagon, but you’re always left weakened by the time you reach the Elden Beast and the arena is so huge I wish you could use your horse, Torrent).

  1. This is, apparently, a world record or at least a world record as far as anyone knows.
  2. Other players have one-shot these bosses before, but as far as I can tell nobody has in NG+7 until now (it’s always possible someone has but hasn’t posted about it, of course).
  3. Your Average Gamer, aka Matthew Farnkopf, told me it took 20 hours to hours to actually get both bosses in one shot in one attempt, and 50 hours of tinkering with the buff system to narrow down the build.

: And here’s Farnkopf’s video he put together for this fight: This, Farnkopf claims, is the best PvE build you can put together and the recent 1.06 patch—which overhauled numerous items and other aspects of Elden Ring— should have no impact on it, so you’re still free to give it a go without penalty.

Gravel Stone Seal or Golden Order Seal Jellyfish Shield Mushroom crown Fetid Pots Boluses Blood sword for health damage Godfrey Icon Lightning Charm Kindred of Roy’s Exultation Red Branch Feather Talisman Ancient Prayer book (for the incant)

This is fascinating to me. This build is filled with items that offer buffs and penalties, a tangled combination of effects that must be difficult to nail down. But when used properly, enormous damage is the result. It’s a risk/reward payoff that requires attention to detail and well-executed timing.

  • I’m the type of Elden Ring player that doesn’t pay much attention to the “meta” since I play very little PvP.
  • But I also don’t work that hard at constructing the “best” builds either.
  • I find weapons I like and use them.
  • I find armor that looks cool and use it.
  • I’m a pretty good player, but I don’t have the time or attention span to really dig that deep into all the game’s nuances.

That’s why my Elden Ring character rolls around in a slip of a dress, a circlet and bare feet: In any case, it’s an impressive pwning of Elden Ring’s powerful final boss duo and something that I will have to enjoy as a spectator. For his part, Farnkopf says that Elden Ring has been more than just a video game to ‘git gud’ at, but also a bastion in tough times.

I’m physically disabled and have had day to day stomach struggles for years,” Farnkopf tells me. “This game brought me a lot of help in the down times.” He’s not alone. I’ve heard many players of Elden Ring and all of From Software’s games, back to Demon’s and Dark Souls talk about how it helped with their depression or life struggles.

I can relate, at least a little. Elden Ring was a place of solace for me as well at the start of this year during a tough breakup with my long-time girlfriend. The Lands Between, like Lordran and Boletaria before, is a place of escape—into danger, true, but also into a world where struggle is surmountable and where overcoming that struggle brings real satisfaction a sense of accomplishment and joy.

Who is the hardest boss in Elden Ring?

Malenia, Blade Of Miquella – Who Is The Last Boss In Elden Ring Malenia may not be the gigantic beast that Starscourge Radahn is, but she’s still generally considered to be the hardest boss in Elden Ring, Some compare her to Bloodborne ‘s Orphan of Kos and Dark Souls 3 ‘s Sister Friede, which speaks to just how difficult she can be.

While her first phase isn’t that bad, her second phase involves fast combos, massive shockwaves, and several copies of herself. Malenia can inflict rot, which can chip away at the player’s health. Worst of all, she has the ability to leech health from the player with every hit she lands, which means that some spirit ash summons will do more harm than good.

What kills Malenia?

How to prepare for Malenia, Blade of Miquella – Summoning a spirit ash, especially Mimic Tear, is going to be essential for most players, so it’s heavily recommended you bring a spirit at +10 level. The higher your spirit ash’s level, the higher their health will be, and they will actually survive attacks from Malenia that will normally mean instant death for a human player. Who Is The Last Boss In Elden Ring You should be at least Level 120 (but preferably even higher) before even considering taking on Malenia, and be sure that you have upgraded your weapon and shield to their maximum levels. You may also want to respec your character so that your endurance is at around 50.

Who can defeat Malenia?

How to beat Malenia in Elden Ring – I’ve seen a variety of tactics work with Malenia and with a number of weapon combos. In short, they are:

  • Gang up on her with three people, stun-locking her into oblivion.
  • Use one other player and trade her aggro between you.

Since Malenia is easily stun-locked in her first phase, ganging up on her with three people and effectively making sure you hit her constantly can work. However, you do need to be quite tanky to do it, since you can’t stun-lock her indefinitely. This is extra effective if you have someone wielding the Sword of Night and Flame and using its beam to knock her down periodically, or Radahn’s swords—basically any weapon or skill that floors her.

Malenia staggers easily, allowing you to perform critical strikes, so jumping attacks are also effective. I can’t recommend using dragon breath incantations, though, since they obscure your vision of her. As with a lot of other Elden Ring bosses (opens in new tab), bleed and frost are also strong, as are shields, since these will stop her regen for at least one hit.

The only issue with bringing a third person to Malenia is that it increases the amount of damage you’ll need to deal, gives her another health pool to leech off, and makes her aggro more unpredictable which increasing your chances of getting hit. It’s the same for Spirit Calling Bell (opens in new tab) summons, which are useless 9 out of 10 times in this fight due to their lack of self-preservation.

While it is possible with them, they often just tank hits and give her health. This is one of the reasons why getting aggressive in this fight is tricky, because if you’re getting hit, that damage counts for very little. The best way to beat Malenia that I’ve encountered is two players with heavy weapons trading her aggression with jumping attacks,

It takes a little longer than ganging up, but it prevents her getting focused on one character for too long. Since she staggers, you can often interrupt attacks on the other player entirely. While strength weapons are ideal, this can be done with any weapon combo, or even just one strength weapon and a spell caster,

The key point is passing the aggro between you so she never focuses too heavily on one or the other. This is also a dodging fight. You can use a shield if you want, but know that the fight will last significantly longer, if not indefinitely, since she’ll regen health when she hits your shield. With her fast strikes, that eliminates most of the damage you’re dealing.

Respec (opens in new tab) if you need to, but this is a fight where it pays to have a decent amount of health and endurance, and having more health will also let you use a light equip load to make your dodges more effective. Still, there’s an elephant in the room, and that’s “what’s the point if she murders you every time with that jump attack?” Well, there are a couple of ways to deal with/predict it.

What is Godfrey weak too?

Elden Ring Godfrey / Hoarah Loux tips – High Vigor is essential: Godfrey deals immense damage per hit, and is capable of one-hitting low-health characters. Unless you’re confident of securing a no-hit run – in which case, why on earth do you need our tips? – we recommend boosting your vigor to at least 40 for this fight.

Avoid Holy damage: As another major demigod of the Golden Order, Godfrey absorbs a significant amount of Holy damage. He’s also resistant to the build up of Bleed, Frost, and Sleep making it tough to trigger their damage bursts on him. Godfrey is weak to slash damage: If possible, using weapons like katanas and curved swords will see you doing extra damage here.

All Physical damage types, along with Lightning, Magic, and Fire are also effective. Who Is The Last Boss In Elden Ring © FromSoftware Boost physical protection (Standard/Strike): Built for raw strength, Godfrey and Hoarah Loux deal almost exclusively physical damage. Boosting this with heavier armor and items like the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +1 (found in the Altus Plateau Sainted Hero’s Grave) or Crab Meat can help survive his more powerful attacks.

Jump to avoid stomps: Godfrey and Hoarah Loux’s most oppressive attacks involve repeated stomps. In basic form, these send rock shards along the ground in a cone. When powered up, Godrey/Hoarah will emit a shockwave which spans almost the entire arena. These seem terrifying, but you can avoid the effects of stomps entirely by jumping.

It’s easier than dodging and means you can land jumping attacks in many cases. Prepare to jump a lot in these fights. Who Is The Last Boss In Elden Ring © FromSoftware Avoid summoning allies: In a rare case, the Godfrey boss fight is much tougher in multiplayer than it is alone. Many of his attacks cover almost the entire arena, and his second phase grapples will make him invincible if he successfully grabs an ally.
