To believably capture the performances of everyone around him — i.e. eyelines, body language — he also needs to be that height. There are other options. The part could also be split in two, with one an adult actor performing the voice as a child actor or short adult handles the movement.

A God of War Ragnarok player recently drew attention to a detail regarding Atreus’ scars that has been a source of much confusion going back to 2018’s God of War, There are many interesting details about both Kratos and Atreus. Obviously, players have spent a lot of time with Kratos and know the story behind many of his features, including his pale skin and face markings.
Atreus is more of a mystery, however, with God of War Ragnarok players having to fill in the gaps in his backstory themselves. The tattoo on Kratos’ face and head was a significant plot device in the original God of War trilogy, though in the first game it was likely just cosmetic. Starting in God of War: Ghost of Sparta a prophecy regarding the “marked warrior” destroying Olympus was retconned in.
This led to Ares and Athena capturing Deimos, Kratos’ brother, for his facial birthmark. Kratos would then tattoo his face in a similar design to Deimos’ birthmark in his brother’s memory. What Reddit user Fancy_Fuel15 notices is that Atreus has a pattern of scars over his left eye that’s eerily reminiscent of Kratos’ face tattoo,
- That is, Atreus’ scars look like a line moving from above his eye to his temple, and then below his eye toward his jaw.
- The implication is that the scars were a result of Kratos’ tattoo due to one reason or another.

“We avoided compromising the story we were trying to tell as a result of the pandemic and these limitations we had to deal with,” said senior producer, Ariel Angelotti. “There were no cinematics that we changed; we still have the same characters in them in the final game. 
The developers needed to avoid having too many voice actors on set at any one time, so they resorted to voice actors doubling up to play additional background characters. This allowed them “to be able to avoid a situation where too many people were on-set on any given day.” They also had some actors “stand in” for others on the day.
