The best Spirit Ashes to use against the Godskin Duo are those that spawn multiple allies, like the Greatshield Soldier ashes, or that can put one of the bosses to sleep, like Dolores the Sleeping Arrow. Multiple summons will split to distract one of the Godskins and help you focus down the other at the same time.
Dolores the Sleeping Arrow (and the Archers) can reliably put one of the bosses to sleep and let you both put all attention towards taking out the remaining Godskin.

(Image credit: FromSoftware) The Godskin Duo have some shared weaknesses and strengths, meaning that strategic advice applied to one can apply to the other too. Here’s some basic thoughts to keep in mind both before and during the boss fight.
- The recommended level for the Godskin Duo is at least 100, with weapons of +18 or higher. That being said, you should probably end up being a little higher than this at this point, assuming you’ve not just been on the critical path.
- There’s a little bit of a trek from the previous Site of Grace to the arena – the best thing you can do is evade the enemies along the way, sprinting and rolling past them, heading left down the steps and then dropping down to the thin ledge off the broken path with the arena entrance ahead on the right. You’ll encounter two or three knights along the way, but leave them in your dust.
- Alternatively, if you approach from the secondary Site of Grace to the Southeast, the Dragon Temple Transept, there’ll be an option to summon the friendly NPC Recusant Bernahl.
- The Godskin Duo are a little vulnerable to Slashing damage and general status effects like Bleed and Frostbite, but highly resistant to Striking, as well as Fire, Lightning and Magic, leaving little in the way of physical weaknesses.
- The Sleep effect can help make this fight a lot easier – sedate one of the Godskins with a Sleep Pot, Soporific Grease or a St. Trina’s Arrow, then leave them be while you battle the other one.
- Both can be parried and staggered, but not easily. Only try to parry if you’re feeling brave, or risk taking the attack on the nose.
- The pillars around the arena can be used for cover and protection – make use of them at all opportunities.
- Generally you want to kill the Godskin Noble (the big one) first, as he’s more of a threat and can do more damage. It’s not essential though, and while the Apostle (the skinny one) is less damaging, he’s also faster, lashing out from a good distance with little warning.
- Each of them has a move where they levitate into the air surrounded by black fire, and will immediately drop back down to create a shockwave. Roll away when you see it happen! The shockwave is short-range but damaging, and will throw players back to the ground and leave them vulnerable for follow-up.
- Once the collective health bar is emptied, any remaining Godskins die, regardless of their individual health.

How does Godskin Duo work?
Godskin Duo tips: How to beat Godskin Duo – It’s really important to say up front that each Godskin Duo has its own health bar. When it hits zero, that foe will be down for the count but it can actually be summoned back by its ally when they hold their finger aloft with black fire burning around it. 
What makes things more difficult is Godskin Duo are a tough pair to deal with. The most common attack to watch out for is where the pair throw an orb of black fire at you, which can be dodged by dodge rolling to either side when the orb itself it partway towards you and still in the air. 
Let’s tackle one Godskin Duo at a time. The bigger foe carries a rapier, and has some nasty range with the weapon, chaining multiple stabbing strikes towards you. It can also bring the hilt of the sword crashing down onto the ground immediately in front of it. 
As for the second of the Godskin Duo, this one carries a scythe, and if you defeated the Godskin Apostle back at the Atlus Plateau, you’ve got a good idea of what to expect here. Chiefly, this Godskin Duo strikes in quick motions, slashing around with the scythe, and jumping up into the air after a brief pause to bring the weapon crashing down.
You want to steer well clear of both attacks, dodge rolling backwards while they’re in motion. Just like the other Godskin Duo, this one transforms as well when it reaches half health, turning into a slinky that stretches across the battlefield. Watch out for this Godskin foe imbuing its scythe with black fire, because it’s about to spin around a few times and unleash a huge area attack.
Back well away from the boss in this phase, preferably sprinting away from it if you can. 
Otherwise, you’ll need to avoid the boss’ stretchy attacks during this phase, which can see it dart forward with its top half to attack with the scythe. If the boss has its scythe pointed to the ground, it’s a stabbing attack that’s followed up with a slice from its bottom half, whereas the alternative will see the boss spinning its scythe around, both of which you should back well away from.
