| DBN_Stealth 11 months ago #1 would an occult or bleed infusion work on my weps with an arcane build? the weapons im using are whips that already have bleed on them initially without the infusion. im still kind of confused how occult works but i read that’s good on weps with bleed already on them so im not sure. thanks. |
| Ninja_Gaignun 11 months ago #2 Occult just means undead enemies die without needing to hit them when they are down. Increasing bleed is a bonus, just don’t rely on Bleed alone as some enemies and bosses are immune. Flight is Might! |
| Maiagare 11 months ago #3 If you have high arcane, occult will have a lot more AR and somewhat lower bleed. I vastly prefer occult over blood for high arcane builds. Occult is only really good for weapons that have innate bleed scaling, though. If a weapon doesn’t have innate bleed, occult won’t grant it bleed. But if it does have bleed, then occult will scale it higher. What a superb demon! |

Hi Occult just makes your weapon scale with your Arcane stat, it doesn’t add any bleed or give any bleed scaling. Weapons that are infused with bleed OR unique weapons that also scale with Arcane will have their bleed chance increased by increasing your arcane. Personally on my Occult build I just keep a few bleed weapons on it to swap to as/when required and then I have all my normal weapons infused as Occult so they get damage scaling from my arcane. https://www.twitch.tv/WhamBam_tv |

If you apply the Seppuku ash of war you will bleed enemies very fast. If you duplicate sepukku, and apply to both equipped weapons (dual wield) the bleed procs are insane. |
| Deadpool 11 months ago #6 if the weapon has base Bleed, Occult will add more Bleed per level. Not as much as Blood would, but Occult adds more physical scaling than Blood does. Occult does NOT prevent undead from reviving. We are living in a world today where lemonade is made from artificial flavors and furniture polish is made from real lemons. |

What are affinities in Elden Ring? – Affinities are part of Elden Ring’s vast weapon customisation system, allowing you to alter the attribute scaling and elemental buffs of your attacks. There are a total of 12 affinities in the game, including the standard (no affinity) state:
Standard: A neutral state with no affinity. Individual weapons have their own default stat scaling that applies in this case. Heavy: Enhances Strength scaling at the expense of all other attributes. Keen: Enhanced Dexterity scaling at the expense of all other attributes. Quality: Slightly enhances and evenly balances Strength and Dexterity scaling at the expense of all other attributes. What does occult damage do?
Effects – An Occult infusion adds Magic damage to any given weapon as well as the Occult auxiliary effect. It also adds Faith scaling to weapons, while reducing Strength and Dexterity scaling. The Occult auxiliary effect deals extra damage to certain enemies and bosses – namely, to the Gods and their following.
- Note that the Occult auxiliary effect, much like Divine, is NOT a separate damage type like Fire or Magic, but rather a multiplier which increases any damage done by a weapon against the aforementioned enemies.
- For example: A weapon with 200 damage, and a Divine multiplier of 120 will do 1.2x the amount of damage the weapon would’ve done against regular enemies, and will thus end up dealing 240.
It also has slightly higher returns on AR than Divine infusions on most weapons on characters exceeding Faith level 30-40.

White Mask – I know I said armour is your own choice, but this head piece is perhaps the only item I’d suggest that you need for a Bleed build. Varre’s Mask can be acquired by defeating him (well, an enemy taking on the appearance of him) as an Invader by Mohgwyn Palace, and the mask will raise your attack power whenever blood loss is in the vicinity. Royal Remains Set – I’m naming this set solely because I think parts of it look cool with this build, and it’s passive ability can come in clutch too. The armour can passively regenerate HP whenever your HP is reduced – albeit, I barely noticed this, but again, the gauntlets and greaves look particularly neat teamed with Raptor’s Black Feathers. You can grab this set in Roundtable Hold after fighting with Invader, Ensha of the Royal Remains. Raptor’s Black Feathers – This piece enhances your jump attacks, and can be found in Sage’s Cave behind an illusory wall. Paired with the Claw Talisman, your jump attacks will be boosted further.

A hybrid Dexterity and Intelligence build is arguably one of the strongest builds in all of Elden Ring since you get the power of sorcery and the physical damage of Dexterity, as well as the benefit of having a very fast casting speed as well. You’ll be limited to smaller melee weapons since you won’t have much Strength, but that’s not a huge deal, especially if you get good at parrying and dish out some big crit damage with daggers.
Like other melee and magic hybrid builds, you’ll also want a good amount of Vigor and some Mind for HP and mana, respectively. You’ll also want to find yourself a strong weapon that scales with both Dexterity and Intelligence. These aren’t super common, but you’ll find several of them by exploring thoroughly.
Moonveil, for example, is an incredibly powerful Dex/Int weapon you can find by defeating the final boss of the Gael Tunnel dungeon in Caelid.
