However, if the player does not make the protagonists meet on the street before Michael’s e-mail, they can still hang out together, but they will always be out of breath, saying things like “I think I can go out with you one more time.” Jimmy will no longer hang out with Michael due to Michael’s involvement in Trevor’s death, but can still hang out with Franklin, because Jimmy doesn’t know that Franklin was involved in Trevor’s death. Ending B has Franklin killing Michael who dies after falling from a tower. Franklin walks off after calling Lamar and mending his relationship with him. This ending is good in many ways. Franklin realizes that the pursuit of the American dream may not be worth it after all and that the friends he grew up with are more valuable to him.
However, by killing Michael, Franklin betrays someone who was a mentor to him, and he robs Michael’s family of a father. The most daring GTA 5 ending is Ending C, also known as the Deathwish. This has Franklin ignoring both the FIB and Devin, choosing instead to work with Michael and Trevor to take out all their enemies.
This option is probably the most popular because it allows all three characters to remain playable post-game. Franklin also does not have to betray any of his friends. The downside, of course, is that none of the protagonists get their comeuppance for their misdeeds throughout the game. Michael’s betrayal of Trevor goes unpunished, Franklin is the same person he was at the beginning but just a little richer, and Trevor is free to be a remorseless psychopath.
It may be a feel-good ending, but it lacks a certain cathartic element. While there is no wrong choice, a recent GTA: Online update does confirm one of the endings as canonical. Regardless, what players choose is entirely up to them, and they are free to take out Michael or Trevor or choose to save them both.

If Ending C is chosen, each protagonist will receive their initial cut. Rockstar may have done this to let the player experience the outcome of all three endings instead of the player having to restart the game over again and choose another ending.

Things begin similarly if the player chooses to kill Michael, with Franklin arranging a meeting between the two. Michael gets off a call with his wife, celebrating the fact that he has money and his family back, but Franklin begins to explain his reasoning for what he’s about to do to Michael.
He says, “We both know this ain’t over,” meaning they won’t be able to get away with the heist if they don’t appease Haines and Weston. Michael escapes to the Palmer-Taylor Power Station, and Franklin chases him down. Knowing in the past, Franklin explains he felt used by Michael and like he could be betrayed any day, since “People don’t change.” Michael then says, “You did! You! Two-bit gangster gone three-bit,” meaning Franklin has gone from a simple thug to a full-on, scheming and backstabbing criminal.
After Franklin pushes Michael over the side of a tower, players have the option of dropping or saving him. Even if they choose save, he’ll headbutt Franklin, forcing him to drop Michael to his death. Franklin then calls Lamar Davis, an old close friend of his, as he walks away. 
If players choose “The Third Way,” Franklin consults Lester Crest,, He devises a plan to lure Haines’ FIB agents and Weston’s Merryweather mercenaries to the metal foundry where the protagonists are supposedly melting down the gold from the heist. After taking out the soldiers, the team splits up to tie up loose ends: Trevor kills Haines, Michael kills an old enemy of Franklin’s named Stretch, and Franklin kills Triad leader Wei Cheng, who had a feud with Trevor and Michael earlier in the game. 
It’s clear from the that the game is set in the present day, or at least after the events of GTA 5. Because of this, it is possible (and likely) that players will get some kind of off-hand mention about at least one of the previous game’s protagonists.
Rockstar has done this in the past, both by having Lester reference Grand Theft Auto 4 ‘s Niko Bellic as an Eastern European ” making moves in Liberty City ” and by also including a LifeInvader page for him. GTA 4 had two different endings instead of three, and depending on player choices either Niko’s cousin Roman or his girlfriend Kate ended up dead.
In GTA 5, Niko’s LifeInvader page includes a recent message to Roman, insinuating both characters are still alive. This solidifies which GTA 4 ending is canon in series, and it is very possible once GTA 6 finally releases players will know which of Grand Theft Auto V ‘s three endings really happened.
