Screengrab via FromSoftware To make your way to the Rold Route in Elden Ring, the first thing you’ll need to do is get to Leyndall, Capital City. Once there, you need to proceed until you come across the Omen King, Morgott, who is the true face of Margit, The Fell Omen.
Defeating this boss is not only required to reach the Rold Route by letting you open the double doors which lead towards the lift, but is also essential in beating the game as well. Once you have taken care of Morgott, you should acquire the Rold Medallion, an essential item used to activate the Grand Lift of Rold.
Now, make your way back to the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace. There are around three different Sites of Grace nearby, but the most convenient and effective path you can take is by traveling through the Avenue Balcony path. This path is pretty linear relative to the others, while also pitting you against the minimum number of enemies, which are also optional.
- Once you have reached the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace, walk up the stairs that are just beside you and proceed to turn left from there.
- You will have to keep walking straight until you reach a giant set of doors in front of you.
- Since you have beaten The Omen King, they should open up for you, so simply walk through them.
You need to be slightly cautious in this area due to the enemies present. At this point, you should be in front of a stairway, where you will come across a bunch of smaller enemies along with an aggressive one towards the back that could cause some problems for you.
It’s pretty easy to let them get the best of you, so your best bet would be to stay behind and bait the enemies individually to take them out. Take your time, and in this manner, you should be able to finish up with all of them eventually. Once you have dealt with the enemies, all you need to do is head up the stairway and turn left, where you should encounter an archway with statues on either side of it.

How do I get an Avenue balcony?
Gearing up in Altus Plateau – First off, you want your healing Flasks to be as effective as possible at this point, so make sure to grab all the Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears you can find in Altus Plateau. Without venturing too far and encroaching onto Mt. Gelmir to the west, you can grab two Sacred Tears in Altus Plateau at the following locations:
- Second Church of Marika, on the western edge (accessible from the north)
- Stormcaller Church, near the Rampartside Path site of grace

- Beside the Erdtree Gazing Hill site of grace
- Roadside East of 1

With your flasks upgraded, you’ll want to grab the Arsenal Charm +1 from the Altus Tunnel dungeon, which you can see on your map — it’s a roundish discoloration just south of the Altus Plateau Minor Erdtree, In addition, if you somehow missed the extra Margit fight on your way to the Draconic Tree Sentinel, follow the road north/northeast from the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace and fight the boss again for the Viridian Amber Medallion +1, 
Get the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +1 at the Sainted Hero Grave dungeon. You’ll find it behind a stone sword key fog gate in the Sainted Hero’s Grave dungeon in the central area of the Altus Plateau. 
Get the Haligdrake Talisman starting from the Seaside Ruins site of grace, and you’ll negate some Hold damage. So go pick up the Haligdrake Talisman too if you don’t already have it.
From the Seaside Ruins site of grace in Limgrave, jump down the ruins directly south and alight on the beach by jumping into the whirling spirit spring. Defeat the enemy there for an unrelated Ash of War, then head into the cliffside cave to pick up this talisman, which improves holy damage defense. Alternatively, if you’re feeling even more adventurous and have already begun delving into the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds underneath Leyndell, you can pick up the slightly more effective Haligdrake Talisman +1 in the Leyndell Catacombs dungeon.
To reach the dungeon, head beneath the Capital by dropping down a well in the shadow of the large stone dragon, and then continue navigating downward until you reach a large room full of meandering pipes. Sneak past the giant lobsters at the bottom and the dungeon is through the next passage.

For example, slow and heavy-hitting Spirit Ashes can’t keep up with bosses that rapidly move around as they attack, and low-health Spirit Ashes with ranged attacks will die very quickly if you summon them in boss battles with small, claustrophobic arenas. For this reason, many of the Spirit Ashes we’re recommending in this list have a strong balance of damage output, movement speed, and dodging abilities.
These spirits will be effective in a wide variety of Elden Ring’s boss battles, and are great to have as your default go-to summons. These types of summons are also very effective in the Spirit Ash-enabled Colosseum PvP DLC arenas, as their high overall versatility doesn’t leave any glaring weaknesses for your opponents to exploit.
- With that said, you definitely shouldn’t count out more specialized Spirit Ashes in situations where you can take full advantage of their unique strengths.

Morgott, the Omen King, is a Demigod Boss in Elden Ring that Tarnished pilgrims must defeat in order to gain access to the Mountaintops of the Giants region in the Lands Between. Since Omen King is the final boss of the Royal Capital of Leyndell, players are recommended to attain at least Levels 75-80 before attempting to confront this opponent.
To get to Morgott, Omen King in Elden Ring, players must go from the West Capital Rampart towards the south and ascend the giant branch of the Erdtree. This branch will lead players to the Erdtree Sanctuary, where they must face and defeat Godfrey ‘s Golden Shade. Afterward, they can go out the balcony to the east, walk up the sloping branch, and follow the pathway to the Queen’s Bedchamber.

- To get there, you must get to one of the Divine Atlus Towers through Leyndell.
- After defeating Morgott, you have to go back to the main street northeast of Avenue Balcony Site of Grace,
- Instead of going forward where you would have run into an Erdtree Avatar, walk down the street heading east.
- You can open the large gates at the end and go up some stairs past enemies.
- The Forbidden Lands is a short snowfield that will lead you to the Grand Lift of Rold,
- All you have to do is keep heading straight until you reach the Grand Lift.
- There will be a Golden Seed on your way there.
- There is a gargoyle boss fight at the entrance to the lift, the Black Blade Kindred,
- He won’t be able to enter if you choose to run past him.
- All you have to do here is head up the hill and continue to your left.

- Otherwise, turn left up the hill where a ginormous spider hand will drop out of nowhere.

How To Get To The Mountaintops Of The Giants – 
- Use lift within Leyndell, after defeating Morgott
To even get to this new portion of the map, you’ll need to complete the Leyndell, Royal Capital Legacy Dungeon and access the Grand Lift of Rold, After beating the last boss in the legacy dungeon, Morgott The Omen King, Melina will tell you to visit the Grand Lift and mark it on your map.
There will be a large wooden lift here that will take you to the bridge for the Divine Tower of East Atlus. Run across the bridge and use the next lift to get to the Forbidden Lands, Note that there is a room you can jump into as this lift lowers that will lead you to a room with the Blade of Calling dagger.
Inside will be a Palm Reader and the lift to officially take you to Mountaintops of the Giants. 
Walk along the general path, and you’ll find the Site of Grace Zamor Ruins. At this Grace will be NPC Shabriri or Yura, South of the Grace, just before the ruins can be found the first map fragment, Run past these ruins to continue forward. Inside Zamor Ruins, you can find Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing (3) and Zamor Ice Storm sorcery. 
Swing left along the path, past a tall effigy-looking statue. 
Past this statue, you’ll notice a great and skinny bridge in the distance. There will be some enemies at the start of this bridge you can pass by or take on. 
These enemies are Flame Monks, with one Fire Prelate mini-boss in the center. This mini-boss will be exceptionally tough, but will drop the Fire Prelate armor set. To the left of the Prelate will be the Briars of Punishment incantation. If you go down the small slope to the right, you’ll find the entrance to the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs dungeon. 
Note that at the very end of this skinny and dangerous bridge will be a golem ready to fire arrows at you. It may be helpful to use Torrent to dodge and weave toward the end here. 
Up the rocks and hill will be the next Site of Grace, Ancient Snow Valley Ruins. 
Walking through the north valley you’ll notice another golem in the distance. There will be multiple golems casually walking around. Head right and past this first golem. 
You’ll find another golem. To the right, up a small hill, you can find a Phantom Tree with a Golden Seed, Head left to the next Site of Grace, Freezing Lake. 
Just across the Grace is a summoning pool statue for a reason. If you go deep enough into the sheet of ice in front of you, there will be a large dragon boss, Borealis The Freezing Fog, Along the right side of the mountain that’s in front of the ice field, you’ll find an imp sealed cave, the Spiritcaller Cave. 
This First Church of Marika will have a Sacred Tear and Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (3) outside on a corpse. From the church, head west. 
A large undead dog, like those from Caelid, will greet you on your right-hand side. In the distance, you’ll see a small fort called Guardians’ Garrison, From the dog’s location, you can head up the hill to find an Evergaol and Heretical Rise, a magic tower. 
There are a lot of tough enemies here. Aside from all the Fire Monks, there’s a Fire Prelate and two stronger monks. Most of these enemies are facing away from you. This makes it easy for you to pick off those that are in your way and ignore the rest. The only ones you really have to fight are the monks to your right and the ones guarding the entrance to the fort. 
Inside the fort, there will be an undead dog and a Flame Guardian. Don’t let the Flame Guardian’s red title scare you, they are relatively easy to defeat so long as you don’t let their spells hit you more than once. Above the stairs, there will be some rats you can ignore. There is actually a hidden ladder in the left corner, near where the Flame Guardian was, 
This ladder will take you to the rooftops of the fort where two more Flame Guardians will be across from you. Smithing Stone (7) can be found next to the second Flame Guardian. To continue, you’ll want to jump over the railing to your left. 
Part of the tower is broken here, allowing you to jump carefully onto the wooden path you see here. From this path, walk up the stairs to your left-hand side. They will lead you to trouble, so be prepared. 
Up these stairs, there will be two undead dogs tucked away in the tower to your left. To your right will be a very tough boss fight with Chief Guardian Aghanthy, His hits are punishing and will instantly kill you, so you will need summons or patience here. Upon defeat, he drops the One-Eyed Shield, There will be the Giants’ Prayerbook to loot here as well. 
Run through Guardians’ Garrison to find a chainlink bridge. Cross it to find the next Site of Grace, Giants’ Gravepost, as well as the last map fragment. There are no giants here, but many tough enemies like trolls, gigantic spider hands, and undead abnormally large birds,
Just across from the Grace, in front of the tree is a summoning pool that may be hard to see at first. From here, all you have to do is walk across the chainlink bridge just ahead of the Grace. This will lead to the toughest boss battle yet, Fire Giant,

Where do I go after beating Margit The Omen?
Limgrave and Stormveil Castle – Before we jump into a guide of the first region of Limgrave, it’s important to note that you don’t actually start there. Once you have decided on a starting class and Keepsake, you’ll begin at the Chapel of Anticipation, Don’t worry, you’re supposed to die at the first boss – this is a FromSoftware game after all – and once you do you’ll begin the game proper. 
Once you respawn, you’ll be in the Stranded Graveyard – which actually has a missable tutorial – make your way out of the cave and you’ll finally come to the open world of The Lands Between. Now the guidance of grace will appear on your map screen as yellow directional arrows, you can use these as vague indicators of the critical path. 
Activate the Site of Grace in front of you and you’ll see a church just down the road, go to it. There will also be a huge knight riding a horse – this is the Tree Sentinel – and he’s going to be quite the challenge at this point. Our recommendation is to give a wide berth and head to the church. 
Now you’re at the Church of Ellah, where you can upgrade some weapons and purchase goods from the merchant. They sell a crafting kit for 300 Runes – this is an essential item that allows you to craft consumables from ingredients in the wild – so make sure you collect the Runes by defeating nearby enemies or using a Rune item from your inventory (there’s one right outside the Church’s front entrance, in case you missed it). 
A streak of light should be emitting from the Site of Grace at the church, head in that direction and follow the road northwards. 
Following the road over the hill will reveal an enemy encampment, circle around it to the left and you’ll see a massive stone structure and a Site of Grace, make sure you rest here. 
Once you do, a cutscene will play, then accept Melina’s offering and she’ll allow you to level up at every Site of Grace and give you Torrent, your spectral steed for the duration of Elden Ring. We’ve marked the Gatefront Site of Grace’s location on the below map. 
While you are here in Gatefront Ruins, it’s also worth picking up the Whetstone Knife and the first Limgrave map fragment, At this point we recommend you explore Limgrave for a while, obtain items and equipment, earn some Runes and mark tough locations so you can come back to them later.

To get to Stormveil Castle from the Gatefront Site of Grace, simply follow the road under the stone structure, and continue on that path for a short while.
You’ll come across another glowing tree and Golden Seed, so be sure to pick that up. 
The road then bends around to the left, at which point you should be met with a hoard of enemies guarding the entrance to Stormveil. Behind the enemies there’s a long tunnel, head down it and activate the Site of Grace. 
On the other end of the tunnel you’ll meet your first major boss in Elden Ring, Margit The Fell Omen, You need to beat this boss to gain access to Stormveil Castle. This is a huge challenge – so if you are struggling, then don’t worry about needing to explore Limgrave more first.
To your left is an opening, and there’s an NPC who can open up the gate for you. As they recommend though, it’s much easier if you go around the outside of Stormveil instead, through the big hole in the same room. 
As the first major Legacy Dungeon in Elden Ring, Stormveil Castle is a huge labyrinth. It isn’t too confusing, with paths opening up and loops being created as you go. Keep exploring until you come to the Secluded Cell Site of Grace, shown on the map and in-game image below. 
Honestly, there are multiple ways to get there, and none of them are wrong. So explore, find items, beat enemies and level up until you arrive. Next to the Site of Grace is a fog gate, going through it will pit you against Godrick the Grafted, another essential boss along Elden Ring’s critical path.
