God Of War How To Beat Sigrun
How to Beat Sigrun in God of War – God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Image Credit: God of War Fandom In order to beat Sigrun, it is best to learn her moveset, Learning her moveset will not only help you understand when to dodge but also help you know when you should attack. Also, remember that for this fight your shield will be a big help, so be ready to use it often. Sigrun will start attacking you using her wings, her wing attack pattern is as follows.

Individual wing strikes. Spin attack. Wing strikes + Spin attacks.

After the above-mentioned attacks, she could do any of the following attacks.

Scythe Wave: Sigrun will sweep a wave with her scythe towards Kratos. You can dodge it by timing your roll to either side based on where the attack is coming from. Shooting Yellow Projectiles and Magic disks: When you see multiple projectiles incoming you can block them. But if you see a single one incoming then it’s best to dodge it. Throwing Ice Shards: Just like the yellow projectiles, you can block multiple ice attacks. But if you see a large ice block coming towards you dodge it. Scythe Spin attack: She will rush towards Kratos and slash using her Scythe. Leaping on Kratos: She will jump on Kratos in an attempt to grab him. Dodge this attack and you will get room to hit her. Making Shield of her wings: As the name suggests she uses her wings as a shield. While this isn’t the attack in itself, she attacks after raising her wings. Black smoke Projectiles: Sigrun also shoots black smoke like projectiles that you can block. Fire on the ground: Sigrun will raise her hand and you will see fire burn on the ground. Dodge this as it will ignite and do a lot of damage. After this dodge, be prepared to dodge the second attack of Sigrun. Levitating and doing a ground pound: She will use her staff for pounding the ground. Staff attack: As the name suggests Sigrun will use her staff to attack Kratos. Her attacks also have the ability to blind Kratos. Flying with a dash: When you see Sigrun fly and dash towards you dodge it. That is because she is aiming for your face and if she catches it, then she will make sure Kratos gets a taste of the dirt. Stabbing after dashing: This is one of her ground attacks where she rushed towards Kratos. And follows up with a stabbing attack. Blind attack: This will make the entire arena foggy and make you lose sight of her.

And that is not all the above were just individual attacks, Sigrun also combines some of those above attacks. But the sooner you learn these individual attacks pattern the faster you will learn how to deal with her. The main goal is to learn when her guard is down so you can attack,

  1. The next thing you should focus on is conserving your health,
  2. An important tip is to use your Runic attacks and Spartan rage when necessary, for example when you get an opening on her.
  3. This will allow you to make the most of them.
  4. So the biggest tip I would suggest here is to focus on learning her moveset and not attack at all in the beginning.

This will help you learn exactly when to attack between her attacks. Once you master this, you will know when to attack and the fight should be a breeze. That sums up this guide on how to defeat Sigrun in God of War. If this guide was helpful then you should also check our other guides on and,

How do you beat Sigrun easily?

Sigrun God of War – Kratos Build To Beat Valkyrie Queen – Click to enlarge The right build for your Kratos to take on the Valkyrie Queen depends entirely on your preferred way to play. However, being at least Level 7 is a must in being able to deliver and take enough damage to get through the fight – and if you happen to be able to get yourself to Level 8 and beyond, even better.

After taking your level into account, the best choice of armour comes down to what you want to prioritise: Strength, Defence, Health, or Runic Attacks. The overall best armour in the base game would be the Mist Armour. Along with high Strength and Runic stats, the Mist Armour comes with a valuable health regeneration perk that stacks with each piece worn.

If you really want to emphasise on Runic Attacks with extra Defence, another option is Sindri’s Royal Dwarven Armour – bolstering your Runic and Cooldown whilst adding a perk that grants you a damage-proof protective barrier when activated. No matter which of these two armour sets you choose though, you’ll need to focus on Runic Attacks.

What level should I be to fight Sigrun?

Valkyrie Queen Sigrun Tips and Strategies –

Recommended Level: Level 7 for a reasonably difficult fight. Recommended Runes and Items:

Superior Resurrection Stone – Resurrects Kratos with most of his health restored. Legendary Runic Vestment ( Atreus ) – This allows Atreus to throw Healing Stones at Kratos when he’s at low health, which are automatically absorbed. Ratatoskr Runic Summon (Atreus) – Summons a squirrel that will dig up consumbables such as Healing Stones and Rage Stones. Level this up to Level 3 so that he’ll dig up three consumables. Armor – This depends on how you play, but generally it’s best to go with the Ivaldi armor pieces from Niflheim, as their Regenerating Essence perk will have Kratos slowly regain health. Otherwise, choose Epic-rank gear. Make sure your equipment is fully upgraded – The Leviathan Axe should be Level 6, the Blades of Chaos at Level 5, the Talon Bow at Level 6 (it’ll be red), and your Runic Attacks upgraded to Level 3, and using only yellow Epic-rank gear. For the best chance, your gear should be fully upgraded to Level 8, including Armor, Axe Pommels and Blade Grips.

If you need Hacksilver to buy upgrades or upgrade materials, run through the Niflheim Maze and then use your Mist Echoes to buy Enchantments at Sindri’s shop, which you can then sell for Hacksilver! When you start the fight, Sigrun will immediately emerge from the Realm Tear and slam Kratos into the ground, and while this deals no damage, it means you can’t open the fight with your best moves during her awakening animation, since unlike the other 8 Valkyries, she doesn’t have one.

The arena you fight in is second only to Hildr’s in terms of size, and Sigrund will force you to use every inch of it. There’s a little alcove at the gold chain that’s of some interest: if Sigrund retreats into it, you can sometimes manage to pin her inside, making her sideways dodges ineffective and letting you rail on her a bit more than usual.

advertisement Sigrun has just about every single maneuver the other 8 Valkyries had, from spinning whirlwinds to wing jabs to feather projectiles. They are all even more deadly than before, so you’ll need to apply everything that you’ve learned up to this point.

Gunnr’s Scythe Swipes – These involve charging at you with a Scythe, either from the air as a single attack or from the ground as a double-attack. This is one of the easier moves to parry, making them a prime way to open Sigrun up to attack. Kara’s Ring Throws – There are two of these: one is a normal attack with multiple rings that snake through the air, and should be blocked. The second is a lightning-fast heavy attack that should be dodged, or interrupted with Atrueus’ arrows before she can throw them. Geirdiful’s Scythe Waves – Sigrun will slash into the ground with her scythe to send a green shockwave Heavy Attack directly at Kratos. Roll to the side to avoid! Geirdiful’s Wing Flap Shockwave – This is one of Sigrun’s most devastating attacks, as it has such a wide blast radius that you have to be on the opposite side of the arena to avoid it. Use Atreus’ arrows to hit her when she charges up this move to interrupt her and prevent certain death. The only positive is that, unlike Geirdiful’s original, Sigrun’s use of this move does not cover the arena in fog. Olrun’s Valhalla Stomps – Another incredibly deadly move, Sigrun can chain this move up to three times in a row, requiring you to quickly roll out of the way of each and every one (and she won’t give it away by shouting Valhalla each time). If you get caught, use the X button to break out of it: she’ll crush Kratos until he dies otherwise. Eir’s Wing Shield – Here Sigrun will form a large shield with her wings, and will counter-attack if struck twice or after a few seconds. Use the Block Break skill by tapping L1 twice to open her up to attack. Eir’s Mace Swings – This is a double-move where Sigrun will stand on the ground and strike near Kratos with her mace that induces blindness, then follow-up with a huge swing. Dodge both of these! Eir’s Mace Shockwave – Another incredibly powerful move, here Sigrun will raise her mace, spin in the air, then throw it down for a massive shockwave that means almost certain death. Like the Wing Flap Shockwave, you should use Atreus’ arrows to interrupt this: you’ll have a fairly large window to do so. Gondul’s Meteors – In this move, Sigrun will raise her arms to the sky and summon three meteors that smash across Kratos’ position, coating the impact sites with damaging fire. Be prepared to dodge twice here: Sigrund loves to come charging in with a wing jab after using this move. Rota’s Glide Charge – Here Sigrun will charge through the air across the arena directly at Kratos. This requires up to three three dodges, but the window will be larger compared to the Valhalla Stomps. Hildr’s Ice Barrage – Works exactly as before: Sigrun will fire a stream of ice chunks, then pause before firing a large ice chunk Heavy Attack. Block the first barrage, then dodge roll out of the way in the pause before the large ice chunk is fired.

In this fight vision is key – Sigrun’s biggest attacks all involve her flying up into the air. To make sure you can identify and avoid them, keep your distance from her for most of the fight and never rush in to attack unless she’s been knocked off-guard in a major way.

This means this fight will probably take longer, but many of her attacks involve her diving toward Kratos. Avoid these and you’ll save yourself a lot of grief. Then, once you’ve successfully dodged her attack combo, she’ll stop to recover for a second giving you a chance to start your own. You can start with a heavy attack then throw down your available Runic abilities.

Make sure you have quick Runic attacks equipped that chain together well to make the most of these openings. Runic attacks are a great way to break her wing shield too if she uses it with your first heavy attack (although we still highly recommend Block Break by double-tapping L1).

Sigrun is the most dangerous when she’s airborne and the Heavy Attack red ring shows up. This means that she’s likely about to use either the Wing Flap Shockwave or the Mace Shockwave, which are all incredibly powerful moves that can kill Kratos in one hit on higher difficulties. To avoid that, have Atreus fire arrows at her: this will interrupt her and prevent the attack from happening, which is far easier than dashing to the opposite edge of the arena.

Atreus ‘ arrows don’t damage Sigrun and she has no Stun meter for Light Arrows to work on, so you shouldn’t worry about managing his ammo. His summons aren’t all that effective either, outside of the Wolves which can occasionally knock Sigrun off-guard.

Our pick is Ratatoskr, who’ll uncover up to three consumables (like Healing Stones and Rage Stones) when fully leveled up. If you do equip Ratatoskr, make sure you only call him when you plan on using the health, or else they’ll disappear after a while. Also remember that Sigrun will drop Healing Stones after certain health milestones, and that she’ll be knocked off-guard if close to Kratos when he stomps them! Breaking off the fight just to grab Healing Stones is highly dangerous, however, so you should consider using Spartan Rage as a safe way to pick them up.

Kratos can’t be hurt when Spartan Rage is active, so the meter will just lower instead of taking damage. Sigrun’s mobility makes Spartan Rage functionally useless for recovering health by attacking her, but activating it is a great way to cancel one of her attacks: pop Spartan Rage to knock her back with the activation shockwave, then cancel it to save rage for later! One tactic to consider is throwing the Leviathan Axe when she’s far away.

Why is it King Valkyrie and not Queen?

Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Tessa Thompson (left) portrays Valkyrie, the first LGBTQ+ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Natalie Portman (right) plays Thor’s ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster. Brave, strong, competent, and inarguably badass, the warrior-turned-gladiator-gatherer played by Thompson returns as King Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder.

  • The combined events of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War left the people of Asgard without a home.
  • Those who survived made a new home called New Asgard.
  • While technically Thor is King of his people, it’s Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie who takes on the leadership role after Thor retreats into a drunken haze.

Why is Valkyrie named “King” rather than “Queen?” Because gender-coding renders “King” a more powerful word than “Queen.” Taika Waititi has delivered another excellent Thor and Valkyrie story. The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace.

  1. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.
  2. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon an exciting adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. In Thor: Love and Thunder Thompson is king of New Asgard. According to Thompson, “I think it’s really important for everybody, but for young people especially, to be able to show up to those movies and see projections of themselves.

Is Sigrun the hardest boss in God of War?

15 Hercules – God Of War 3 – God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Despite being Kratos’ half-brother, Hercules holds no love for the Spartan king. In the game, Hercules is intensely jealous of Zeus’ preference for Kratos. For that reason, Hercules aims to steal the title God of War from Kratos by killing him. What’s annoying about the fight with Hercules is that he’ll try to drain the energy of gamers by summoning undead warriors. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun that sees Kratos face off difficult Greek gods and deities. Such include Poseidon, who is positioned at the start of the game. Gamers will have a tough time trying to defeat Poseidon, especially since they are not equipped with any upgrades or power-ups. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun There’s no doubt that the Valkyries are some of the most challenging enemies that players will have to take down in the game. Hildr, the Valkyrie found in the land of Nilfheim, is considered one of the hardest, especially since getting to her is already a tough challenge as the area is surrounded by a poisonous mist. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun One of the key rivals Kratos had in the God of War series is Alrik, who is the leader of the Barbarians. Alrik has a bone to pick with Kratos as the Spartan leader supposedly killed his father. Despite dying after battling with Kratos, Alrik escapes the underworld to give Kratos one of the hardest fights in his life. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Unlike, Theseus’ appearance in the God of War series perfectly matches his personality. As the original hero of Athens, Theseus is known to think highly of himself, which is apparent in his dialogue in God of War 2, The fight with Theseus is considered as one of the toughest fights in the series, due to his fast moves and consistent attacks. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun One of the first villains that Kratos meets in 2018’s God of War turns out to be the game’s main antagonist, Baldur. The first fight against him already gives players a sense of just how difficult it is to defeat the god of light, thanks to his swift dodges and invulnerability.

It becomes even more challenging during the final battle when Kratos and Atreus must defeat Baldur with his mother Freya assisting in the background. Despite losing his invulnerability before the fight, Baldur is still incredibly difficult to defeat. He can alternate between ice and fire forms, which means players must quickly switch between the Leviathan and the Blades of Chaos to keep up.

With, it’s exciting to see how Baldur’s mother will avenge his son’s death. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Even though the sons of Thor are among the more laughable villains in God of War, Magni and Modi are surprisingly challenging to beat. The two of them have distinct attack styles that complement each other, with Magni dealing powerful melee hits and Modi relying on hard-to-dodge ranged attacks with his shield. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun The ferryman of the Underworld is also one of the toughest bosses in the GoW series and will prove to be a challenge for players who don’t like going against nimble bosses. Charon’s impressive teleportation skills will end up becoming the least of Kratos’ worries, however, as it’s his hard-hitting attacks that can end up killing players over and over again. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun One of the last major fights in God of War 2 features three antagonists instead of the usual one. This battle against the Sisters of Fate is a real test of skill – it’s not as simple as hacking away at each one until they’re dead. There are puzzles, mirrors, and even time distortion involved, and the battle encompasses three phases where the depth and variety of the attacks change swiftly. God Of War How To Beat Sigrun Persephone reveals herself to be the main antagonist in Chains of Olympus, Her anger about being forced to serve the Underworld is obvious during the battle, as it’s one of the hardest ones players will encounter in the series. The queen of the Underworld’s somewhat random attacks can be difficult to predict, and her swift charged attacks are challenging to avoid.

  • It’s the projectiles that players should watch out for during this battle, as Kratos can actually throw them back at Persephone, who will sometimes throw it right back.
  • The Dark Elf King certainly deserves his title, as the battle against him is arguably more difficult than the final boss fight in 2018’s God of War,

What’s worse is this battle takes place before the middle of the main storyline, introducing a sudden difficulty jump for players that most likely haven’t mastered Kratos’ skills just yet. Svartaljoffur’s powerful combos will force players to use the skills Kratos has already unlocked, leaning especially on his block breaks to deter the dark elf.

  1. It’s crucial not to get carried away when attacking this enemy, as he has the ability to throw bombs that will shroud the entire area in darkness.
  2. This makes it extremely difficult for Kratos to anticipate where the next blow will come from.
  3. But by, gamers may have a better chance of defeating Svartaljoffur on first try.

The god of the Underworld does not disappoint in God of War 3 with his powerful Claws of Hades in his arsenal. While Hades initially helps Kratos in his quest to take down Olympus, he ends up being influenced by Pandora’s Box to go against the protagonist.

Players don’t have a lot of options when it comes to evading Hades, as trying to escape his short-range attacks will only result in him using his long-range claws to inflict damage. It doesn’t help that he disappears and summons his minions every now and then, prolonging the already tedious battle. Considering how Kratos will eventually take his title, it’s no surprise that the fight against Ares is still one of the most difficult in the entire franchise.

Before the battle itself, players have to work to set the stage, going through several quests to gain power and grow large enough to go against the original god of war. The actual fight isn’t any easier because it’s almost impossible to block a lot of Ares’ heavy-hitting attacks.

There are also phases in the battle where Kratos has to protect his own family from copies of himself, which can be just as challenging as the main boss fight. After facing Zeus in God of War 2, players must once again defeat him in an incredibly long and difficult fight in God of War 3, The battle against the leader of Olympus is even more challenging than players might expect, as it has multiple phases that happen in different settings, each with its own unique mechanics.

One of the hardest parts of the battle is when players are suddenly thrown into a 2D version of the arena. The side-scrolling approach to this part of the fight makes it difficult to dodge Zeus’ powerful attacks. As if things weren’t hard enough, a later phase reveals that Zeus can actually clone himself and attack Kratos from multiple directions.

These clones are nearly impossible to dodge and even harder to kill. Sigrun, the queen of the Valkyries, appears at the end of what is often considered the most rewarding side quest in God of War, as it allows players to face possibly the toughest boss in the franchise. This infamous battle will combine the strength and skills of those previous bosses to produce the hardest optional boss in the GoW series.

Sigrun has around twenty skills that she can erratically use throughout the battle, making it difficult to predict and evade her next attack. Learning her patterns and pacing is extremely important here, as one wrong move or a small opening is more than enough for her to kill Kratos with one hit.
