All Elden Ring Deathroot locations – (Image credit: FromSoftware) There’s a total of eight Deathroots located around Elden Ring, but most of these are quite hard to get, even when you know where they are. Deathroots are, as you might have guessed, associated with powerful necromantic magics, so players will find them usually after undead boss fights or in catacombs filled with angry skeletons.
- Dropped by the Tibia Mariner boss fight at Summonwater Village.
- Dropped by the Tibia Mariner boss fight outside the Carian Study Hall tower,
- Dropped by the Tibia Mariner boss fight at Wyndham Ruins, on the border between the Altus Plateau and Mt. Gelmir.
- Dropped by the Tibia Mariner boss fight in the graveyard on the higher ridge South of Castle Sol,
- Dropped by the Red Wolf of the Champion boss fight at the Gelmir Hero’s Grave, the entrance to which is on a grassy plain at the higher points of the mountains.
- In a chest inside the Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave, behind the Black Knife Assassin boss fight.
- In a chest inside the Black Knife Catacombs in Liurnia, behind the Cemetery Shade boss fight.
- In a chest inside the Giants’ Mountaintops Catacombs in, unsurprisingly, Mountaintops of the Giants, behind the Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss fight.
- In a chest inside the secret catacombs within the Hidden Path to the Haligtree in between the Grand Lift of Rold and the Consecrated Snowfields, behind the Stray Mimic Tear boss fight. To find the Catacombs, drop down off the main staircase where the railing is broken to land on an invisible path, then follow them down, using either player messages, Rainbow Stones or Glowstones to check you’re on safe, invisible ground and won’t drop to your death.
The Tibia Mariners themselves are relatively manageable as boss fights go, as by the time you’ve unlocked the areas they’re in, you’re usually at a level ready to take them on. As a rule though, you want to focus on them and not their summoned skeletons, using Torrent to back away whenever they lean back for a big area-of-effect attack, then scout the local area whenever they teleport to a new location.
These Deathroots will get you a lot of good gear, and the important thing is that after getting your first one, you can speak to the Beast Clergyman (explained below) to get the Beast Eye, a special item that, simply by being in your inventory, will alert you to any nearby Deathroots with the message ” the Beast Eye quivers “.
Once it does so, it’s time to start searching around, as there’s a Deathroot located nearby.

What To Do With Deathroot – Players can hand over Deathroot to a being named Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman. Players can find this NPC at the Bestial Sanctum in the northeast area of the Dragonbarrow. This region can be accessed after speaking to an NPC at Roundtable Hold called D, Hunter of the Dead. You can also meet him outside Summonwater Village before the Tibia Mariner boss.

D will inform players of a sending gate that leads to the Beast Clergyman outside of the Third Church of Marika – he should mark the location on your map to make it easier to find, as it’s partially hidden from view. When the player gives Deathroot to the Beast Clergyman he rewards them with a variety of Incantations, Seals, and other useful items.
- It’s worth progressing the questline all the way to the end as the final reward for turning in the ninth Deathroot is an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, one of two Smithing Stones that can’t be farmed.
- However, upon giving the Beast Clergyman his fourth Deathroot, he will turn on the player, turning hostile until they are forced into submission.
They don’t have to be killed, just hit them a few times and the attacks will cease. Elden Ring is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. MORE: Complete Guide To Elden Ring: Weapons, Tips, Tricks, Bosses, & Builds

How many Deathroot should I give?
There are a huge amount of items and consumables in Elden Ring that you will come across in your time with the game. One of these items, Deathroot can be found in most catacombs and certain skeletal boss fights. Here’s what Deathroot is used for in Elden Ring.
After stumbling across a character named D in Western Limgrave, they will talk about how death has plagued the land, and specifically mention Summonwater Village just down the road. If you choose to rest at a Site of Grace and head back to the roundtable Hold after exhausting all dialogue with D, they will be sitting around the main table in the hold.
- After talking to D here, they will mark the meeting place for the Beast Clergymen, who will take the Deathroot from you and consume it.
- After reaching the point on the map, take the Sending portal to the Beasts domain, where you will actually be able to trade your Deathroot in.
- Giving one Deathroot will always net your a reward.

Should you show the Deathroot to D?
D, Hunter of the Dead at Roundtable Hold – If you are unable to find D in Limgrave, he will eventually appear at The Roundtable Hold, although the exact trigger to get him to relocate is unknown. To progress his questline, however, you will still need to show him a Deathroot, either from a Tibia Mariner field boss (the easiest one to reach at this point is the one near D’s initial location in East Limgrave) or any of the other locations listed in the table below.
After securing your first Deathroot, you’ll have the option to show it to him at which point he’ll tell you that you should meet the Beast Clergyman Gurranq. He’ll leave a red mark on your map that will allow you to teleport to the Beastial Sanctum in Caelid, Upon reaching this location, you’ll find a hooded, catlike figure that will angrily demand you feed him Deathroot; doing so will reward you with various spells and items as listed below.
The first reward will include the Clawmark Seal, as well as an item that will alert you when you are near the presence of Deathroot.

What does killing Radahn give you?
How to beat Radahn’s second phase – (Image credit: Bandai Namco) Radahn’s second phase is where the fight can go off the rails quickly, easily and through no fault of your own. At about half health, Radahn will jump high above the battlefield, where you can’t target him, or even easily see him.
- When he slams back down, he can kill you instantly — and even if you manage to avoid his impact, he’ll also summon up a bunch of meteor projectiles that can kill you a little less instantly.
- To be blunt, one false move during this whole transition can and will kill you.
- There’s no perfect way to avoid it, and you’ll probably have to fight Radahn a few times before you figure out the cadence of the jump and the subsequent attacks.
Assuming you can survive the initial onslaught, however, there’s no special trick to the rest of the Radahn fight. Just as before, you’ll want to summon NPCs as quickly and frequently as possible, replacing them whenever they fall in battle. You’ll also want to stay relatively close to Radahn, as he can outpace you quickly, and his long-range attacks are much more devastating than his short-range ones.
- The only real trick here is that Radahn can actually use his “jump and meteor” attack more than once, and it’s not any easier to dodge the second time.
- As such, you’ll want to play the second half of the fight pretty aggressively.
- Going all-out against Radahn is a risk, but it’s a much bigger risk to play conservatively and risk a nearly unblockable attack.
Once you’ve defeated Radahn, you’ll get 70,000 Runes, a Remembrance of the Starscourge item and Radahn’s Great Rune. Don’t forget to explore the northeastern end of the battlefield, where you can find the optional War-Dead Catacombs dungeon. It’s not nearly as hard as fighting Radahn.

What happens if you give the Stormhawk King to nepheli?
Quick Links – FromSoftware’s latest action RPG,, features dozens of bosses, a plethora of different areas to explore, and an untold number of secrets that players are still uncovering to this day. One of the game’s key aspects is its roster of interesting and mysterious characters. To begin Nepheli Loux’s questline you will first need to head to Stormveil castle, the main legacy dungeon in Limgrave. Prior to defeating Godrick the Grafted at the end of the dungeon, Nepheli can be located in a room just before the fog gate. Specifically, find Nepheli by traveling down from the Secluded Cell site of grace, by a very aggressive troll and a number of other mobs.
Having met Nepheli Loux and fought with her to defeat Godrick the Grafted, you will next find her at the Roundtable Hold, Elden Ring’s main hub area. Nepheli will be standing outside of Sir Gideon’s office. Speak with her to learn that she is his adopted daughter.
The next step in Nepheli Loux’s questline can be found in Liurna of the Lakes and specifically, the Village of the Albinaurics. To find this town, which has seemingly come under assault by a set of demi-humans, simply head to the west of Liurna of the lakes, as pictured above.
- You will find Nepheli, crouched next to a pile of bodies, at the entrance to the village, lamenting the fact that she was unable to help them.
- Once you have exhausted her dialogue here, she will once again be available as a summon.
- This time, you can summon her to take on the Omenkiller, the boss at the end of the village.
Nepheli is especially useful in this fight as the Omenkiller brings with it a number of additional NPCs that can make the battle overwhelming. Following your journey to the Village of the Albinaurics, you should return to the Roundtable Hold to, once again, speak with Nepheli and Gideon. Nepheli will now be at the bottom of the staircase next to Hewg the blacksmith. First, speak with her to discuss her discoveries at the village.
To find the Stormhawk King, the item that will ultimately complete Nepheli’s quest, you must travel to the Four Belfries, a series of towers on the westernmost cliff of the lakes. Once at the Four Belfries, travel to the top of the hill to find a site of grace.
There is a powerful giant guarding this area, so be wary. From the site of grace, head to the closest Belfries, this one will have a chest at its base. Open the chest to gain the Imbued Sword Key. This key can be used to open one of the three portals at the Belfries below. Having found the key, use it to unlock the next closest portal.
You can now return to the Chapel of Anticipation, the place where you began your journey to become Elden Lord. Having used the key to teleport to the Chapel of Anticipation, you will be greeted with a bridge. Cross the bridge and, if you had died at the game’s tutorial boss, there will be a fog gate. Now is the time to get your revenge. Defeat this once powerful foe, who should be a meager challenge now you have leveled up, and continue towards the chapel.
Moving towards the chapel, cross the next bridge and climb both sets of stairs. You will be greeted with a large door to the church. Look to your right to see a small door that has opened since you were last here. Enter that door, climb the stairs and pick up the Stormhawk King. Having found this key item, return to the Roundtable Hold and give it to Nepheli.
This item will remind her of her past and the glory she felt as a warrior. It will revitalize her and allow you to complete this questline. It is now time to complete Nepheli’s questline. Importantly, for this step you must have also completed Kenneth Haight’s much shorter story. The key things to know for Kenneth’s questline are that you must have met the haughty nobleman in Limgrave, taken back his fort, and agreed to become his knight.
For a more comprehensive guide on how to finish this story, check out our guide on, Having given Nepheli the Stormhawk King and aided Kenneth Haight, travel to the throne room at Stormveil Castle. Here, you will find both NPCs standing before the throne. Kenneth will reveal that he has chosen Nepheli as the rightful ruler of Limgrave, thanks to her strength and kindness.
Speak with Nepheli here, she will pledge her support to you and reward you with an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, one of the most valuable upgrading materials in the game. For some extra lore here, speak with the NPC standing behind the throne. Another key thing to note for this quest is that at one point during Ranni the Witch’s story, a character will request that you give Nepheli a potion.

What do you do after Radahn dies?
Elden Ring is a truly gigantic game, so much so that it can be hard to decide what to do next after clearing a major obstacle. General Radahn is one such crossroads in Elden Ring where players have a few different directions they can go after beating the gravity-manipulating main boss.
- After beating General Radahn a handful of new areas unlock, several questlines can be progressed, and of course, there’s always the choice between using his Remembrance for equipment or Runes.
- If you think you’re getting close to beating Elden Ring after defeating the Starscourge, think again – the Radahn Festival is barely at the halfway point.
Updated July 30, 2022 by Erik Petrovich : Once the strongest Demigod in Elden Ring has been downed, many players wonder where to go and what to do after beating Radahn. After defeating Radahn with a veritable army of summons, a lot of new paths open up for players to take – most notably, perhaps, the path to Nokron.

Is Poison good against Radahn?
Contents – From Software Radahn before his descent into madness. Radahn can be found in Redmane Castle in the southeast of Caelid. Technically, this is a Legacy Dungeon, but it’s not a traditional one. While you can fight your way through Redmane Castle, you’ll be met with minimal resistance.
- This is apart from the two Lion monsters, but fighting these is completely optional.
- Article continues after ad If you like, you can take advantage of the portal outside the entrance to warp straight to where you need to get without swinging your sword once.
- You see, despite what you’ve heard about the fearsome General Radahn, the Starscourge went insane long ago and is now essentially an attraction for adventurers.
The reason for Radahn’s sorry state is a battle he had many ages ago with another demi-god. You can learn what happened to him in-game, or you can to get a good idea. In the courtyard of Redmane Castle, you’ll find an assortment of friendly NPCs, many of whom you’ll have met before, or are likely to at some point on your travels.
They are all here to take part in a festival, one which pits a collection of warriors against Radahn in bloodsport. The winner gets to claim his shard of the Elden Ring. Article continues after ad To trigger the boss fight, tell the host upon the ramparts when you’re ready and he’ll open the door to the castle’s chapel.
From here, make your way to the beach where you’ll find a portal that transports you to the vast boss arena. Be ready. From Software Radahn will immediately start shooting arrows at you while you run to the summon signs. The Radahn boss fight in Elden Ring is unique in the game, there’s also nothing quite like it in any earlier Souls titles. In this fight, not only can you summon NPC support, you can summon several NPCs at once, and do so continuously throughout the battle.
- Should an NPC fall to Radahn, their summon sign will respawn, allowing you to bring them back.
- While these NPCs can damage Radahn, they’re unlikely to kill him.
- Especially once the second phase of the fight begins.
- Article continues after ad However, they can get lucky if you can summon enough of them at one time throughout the battle.
This is difficult to pull off though, as Radahn will cut them down quickly and turn his attention back to you. NPCs include Alexander the Warrior pot, Blaidd the half-wolf, Patches, Tregoth, and a bunch more. If you haven’t rescued Alexander yet or met Blaidd at the Mistwood ruins, then now may be a good time to do so.
- You can meet Blaidd in person by using the finger click gesture in the ruins, he’ll then invite you to kill the first evergaol boss together.
- Alexander can be found stuck in a ditch in northern Stormhill.
- He needs you to whack him a few times to release him, he’ll then invite you to the festival.
- Article continues after ad Be aware, Patches will enter the boss arena when you summon him, but he’ll return to his own world in fear once he sees how monstrous Radahn is.
Be honest though, what else did we expect from this universe hopping coward? It’s also advisable to defeat Radahn before you hunt down and defeat his fellow demi-god Rykard at the Volcano Manor. This is because Tregoth is one of the Manor’s assassination targets, and killing him will mean he’s unable to participate in the Radahn boss battle.
Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest updates on Esports, Gaming and more. Killing Tregoth is optional. It’s possible to locate and defeat Rykard without killing him. Although, completing the Manor’s list of targets unlocks some sweet rewards, including various armor sets. Just remember, Tregoth is a powerful NPC who can hold his own against Radahn better than most.
Article continues after ad From Software Radahn before his battle with another demi-god. The moment the battle begins Radahn will start shooting arrows at you from afar. Therefore, dodge these and rush forwards to summon your first set of NPC allies. Once they get close to Radahn, he’ll turn his attention to them, so quickly summon the others and join the fray before he kills them all.
- One strategy to killing Radahn in Elden Ring is to summon some multiplayer support from other players, then summon as many NPCs as you can.
- You can then take down the Starscurge on foot with a crew.
- However, you can’t use Spirit Summons in this fight so bear that in mind.
- Article continues after ad Summoning help from other players can be invaluable in this difficult battle – but beware, doing so will mean you lose access to Torrent in this fight, who’s perhaps even more useful.
Without Torrent, Radahn can easily catch up to you and end your existence with a few powerful swipes. Torrent allows you to traverse the battlefield quickly and resurrect fallen NPCs once their summon signs return. This is incredibly difficult on foot and you’re unlikely to reach many of them. From Software Your allies are likely to be killed quickly without your support. Casters and archers will find Radahn easier than tank builds. They can move around the battlefield summoning allies back to life while taking shots at Radahn himself. This is essential for bringing him down.
- We’d advise you to only consider your NPC allies as distractions.
- As for Radahn to fall, you’ll need to be the one to damage him the most.
- Eep your distance, keep summoning and keep shooting at him.
- The general will soon fall to this strategy.
- Arrows and spells that inflict poison will be very helpful, this way, Radahn’s health will be chipping away while he’s thrashing around the battlefield and far away from you.
Article continues after ad From Software Radahn is a terrifying opponent and is deadly up close. Getting up close and personal with Radahn is dangerous, but it can be done. If you’re fighting him without multiplayer support, then Torrent will be essential to your survival, as will your NPC allies.
- Move around the battlefield summoning them as often as you can, but try not to neglect the battle itself.
- Your allies will comfortably get Radahn to half health, but once Radahn starts summoning meteorites in phase 2 they (and you) can be easily one-shotted.
- Therefore, to try and keep your team alive make sure you strike at Radahn yourself.
He’ll often turn his attention to you if you’re nearby or cross the battlefield to reach you. Article continues after ad Use as many buffs as you can to improve your stability on horseback and overall defense. It’s also worth trying to poison Radahn with items if possible.
- He’ll charge at you with some attacks, meaning you can circle around him and strike from behind or underneath on a few occasions.
- Should he summon his purple skulls though, ride away until this threat has passed.
- This move can insta-kill even the most leveled player.
- So, that’s how you take down Radahn in Elden Ring.
