Elden Ring: How to Complete the Jar-Bairn Questline – Jar-Bairn’s questline isodd. It’s closely tied to two other Elden Ring questlines, which has only strengthened the already popular argument that the Jar-Bairn quest must have accidentally been excluded from the game or was simply not ready yet.
Regardless, you will need to complete both Jar Alexander and Diallos’ quests before you can complete Jar-Bairn’s quest. It seems like you’re able to technically begin Jar-Bairn’s quest before you finish those questlines, but you will not be able to complete it. If you need help with the Jar Alexander quest, this guide should point you in the right direction.
If you can’t figure out how to complete Diallos’ questline, this guide should help. Assuming that you have finished those quests, here is how to start and finish the Jar-Bairn questline: Join our mailing list Get the best of Den of Geek delivered right to your inbox!
Speak with Jar-Bairn in Jarburg and agree to become his “Potentate.”Rest at the nearby Site of Grace before talking to Jar-Bairn again. He should now ask you to collect some of the flowers growing around the village. If this dialog option doesn’t appear, you may need to rest at the Site of Grace again or fast travel out of the village and return. Collect the nearby red flowers and rest at the nearby Site of Grace. Speak to Jar-Bairn again, and he should tell you a story about Jar Alexander. Exhaust that dialog sequence, rest again (you may need to fast travel out of the village as well), and Jar-Bairn should tell you about the poachers hunting his people. If you’ve completed the Diallos questline, Jar-Bairn should tell you that Diallos has arrived in the village. Complete that dialog sequence and go talk to Diallos (he should be in a nearby hut). You’ll now need to refresh this area several times. You should be able to do that by resting at the nearby Site of Grace and jumping ahead in time, but the better option may be to fast travel to multiple Sites of Grace and return to Jarburg. Speak to Jar-Bairn you return to Jarburg. You should now find him standing in the middle of the raod that leads through the village. He will tell you that Diallos recently fought off some poachers. You’ll find a mortally wounded Diallos lying up the road. Speak to him and say that he defended the jars. He’ll die shortly thereafter.Refresh Jarburg again, and you should now find Jar-Bairn sitting next to Diallos’ corpse. Speak with Bairn one more time. Refresh Jarburg, and you’ll see that Jar-Bairn has returned to his original location. If you’re speaking to him after completing Alexander’s questline, you should be able to hand him Alexander’s Insides. If you haven’t completed that quest, you’ll need to do so before acquiring that item and giving it to Bairn. After giving the insides to Bairn, be sure to exhaust your dialog options with him. Refresh Jarburg and go to where Bairn was sitting. There, you’ll find the Companion Jar talisman (which increases the potency of your throwing pots). As an added bonus, you can also go to the spot where Diallos died and loot Numen’s Rune, Hoslow’s Petal Whip, and Dialllos’s Mask.
That should conclude this surprisingly sad questline. Interestingly, this quest also confirms that Alexander’s Insides are not related to one of Elden Ring ‘s rumored secret endings and instead allow you to complete this previously missing questline.

Can you become a god in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring Theory: Why Malenia Becomes A God After You Kill Her Of all of ‘s demigods, Malenia is the one that feels as if she has already ascended to godhood. The Scarlet Rot-infected Empyrean is by far the most difficult opponent in the Lands Between with her Waterfowl Dance being nearly impossible to avoid.
But for those Tarnished who managed to evade Malenia’s sword and felled the Blade of Miquella, they may have very well assisted her in becoming a full-fledged goddess. This may sound strange to those familiar with how the cycle of power functions in Elden Ring, Only a demigod whose consort is Elden Lord can become a god or goddess because doing so allows said demigod to become a vassal of the Elden Ring.
However, this accession to godhood appears to be ordained by the Outer universe, and the final fight of the game makes it semi-clear that the most popular one in the Lands Between, the Greater Will, is currently calling the shots regarding power and the Elden Ring.
- Thus, other Outer Gods may try to manipulate the happenings of the Lands Between by trying to pick their own demigods to ascend to godhood.
- Indeed, other Outer Gods do this throughout the game; most notably, the Formless Mother who guides Mogh, the Omen, compels him to make Miquella a god by obtaining the Elden Ring.
But one other Outer God sidesteps this trodden path to godhood and has instead made its own prophecy with Malenia. This deity is, who has both cursed Malenia with the Scarlet Rot and gifted her its power and an alternative method to becoming a goddess.

Can you fail Diallo’s quest?
Diallos Questline: How to complete Diallos’ Quest –
After talking with Diallos at the Roundtable Hold, you’ll find him to the North and slightly West of the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace in Northern Liurnia atop a sunken roof.
Diallos is standing at ground level west of the grace on the northern edge of the town ruins. If you look on the map, he’s located at almost exactly the rightmost tip of the Academy Gate Town icon. NOTE: If you complete the Volcano Manor legacy dungeon before speaking to Diallos here, he will not appear and you cannot complete the quest – making this progression a potential point of failure.
He will then be at the Roundtable Hold again. Exhaust his dialogue, where he talks about having discovered where the recusants are coming from. He’ll be at Volcano Manor, in the drawing room, having decided to join the organization. Diallos gets new dialogue for every step of the Volcano Manor assassination sidequests the player completes.
Repeatedly talk to Jar-Bairn and rest at the Site of Grace in Jarburg until Jar-Bairn talks about poachers. If you’ve gotten this questline to advance, Jar-Bairn will talk about a new Potentiate who’s just arrived.
After seeing him in Jarburg, let some time pass. Once enough time has passed, and you can talk to Diallos once more. After exhausting dialogue with him and Jar-Bairn you can rest to advance the quest. After exhausting Alexander’s dialogue in Radahn’s Arena after Radahn’s defeat and thus progressing that questline, Jar-Bairn will mention poachers in their dialogue. exhaust it and reload the area. Jarburg will have been attacked and Diallos is wounded. Exhaust his and Jar-Bairn’s dialogue and he’ll ask if he was able to defend the jars, to which you can tell him he succeeded or he failed. He will die shortly after either way. Upon reloading the area, Jar-Bairn will move over to Diallos, scavenging his remains and taking up Diallos’s legacy. Exhaust Jar-Bairn’s dialogue and reload the area and, Diallos’s body will disappear, leaving behind Diallos’s Mask, Complete the remainder of Alexander ‘s questline, then return here to give Jar Bairn Alexander’s Innards, Reload the area again to Receive the Companion Jar Talisman from where Jar-Bairn was previously seated. You can also find Hoslow’s Petal Whip, and a Numen’s Rune in the middle of the town.
Can you miss Latenna quest?
Like many other NPCs in Elden Ring, it can be rather easy to miss Latenna. However, finding her is certainly worth the effort, and she grants you access to arguably one of the most important questlines in the entirety of the game. Seeing it through to the end will lead you to two gigantic optional areas-the Consecrated Snowfield and Miquella’s Haligtree-both of which are incredibly important for reaching some of the hardest boss fights in the game and unlocking special endings.

Should I complete Volcano Manor?
Should you join Volcano Manor in Elden Ring? – Yes, if only to advance several quests and get access to Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. Despite the gravity of the murders you commit, there are no negative consequences – at least, none we’ve come across. Whether you arrive unannounced or with Rya has no bearing on what happens next.
Tanith, the lady of the manor, will assign you tasks periodically. These contracts are all assassination missions, where you grab and read a letter, travel to the spot marked on the map, and invade an NPCs world to fight them. The later ones are in Mountaintops of the Giants, so you won’t be able to finish the quest chain right away in most cases.
You’ll also want to hold off defeating Rykard until you’re completely finished with the Manor, since everyone leaves shortly afterwards. After your first contract – Old Knight Istvahn in Stormhill, a fairly standard invasion battle – you’ll get the Magma Shot spell from Tanith.

Where is Diallos after killing Rykard?
How to finish Diallos’ questline in Elden Ring – Finishing Diallos’ questline requires the player to complete a variety of objectives across several regions in the game. Here’s how to do it:
Speak with Diallos in Roundtable Hold until he discusses finding his servant, LanyaFind Lanya in Liurnia of the Lakes in the area surrounding Raya Lucaria AcademySpeak with Diallos again in Roundtable Hold until he discusses visiting Volcano ManorJoin Volcano Manor, find Diallos in the building, and speak with himComplete missions for Volcano Manor’s residents until Diallos disappears, or defeat Rykard, Lord of BlasphemyFind Jarburg and speak with Jar-BairnReload the area and keep talking to Jar-Bairn until Diallos appearsAfter Diallos arrives in Jarburg, talk to both Diallos and Jar-Bairn, reload the area, then repeat until new dialog ceasesAdvance in the story and return to Jarburg until Jar-Bairn and Diallos have movedSpeak with them, reload, then speak with Jar-Bairn againFind Diallos’ whip and mask on the ground
Diallos’ questline doesn’t require much beyond speaking to him and playing the game. The only thing that requires effort beyond talking with him is finding the location of his servant, Lanya. She is found in Liurnia, almost directly north of the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace. Lanya’s location in Liurnia, marked by the cursor. After, the player can find him in Volcano Manor. There aren’t any extra steps to take with advancing Diallos’ questline here. Players just need to progress through Volcano Manor or defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.
- Either way, Diallos will disappear from Volcano Manor before reemerging in Jarburg.
- Jarburg is found by riding south from the Artist’s Shack in Liurnia, then jumping off a cliff down a series of platforms directly south of Carian Study Hall.
- Players cannot reach it in any other way, despite the map suggesting that a road leads directly to it.
Diallos won’t be available in Jarburg instantly. The player will have to talk with Jar-Bairn, reload, and repeat the process until Jar-Bairn discusses Diallos’ arrival. After Diallos arrives, it takes a little while for the questline to progress. It’s unclear what triggers that progression, whether it’s time, beating bosses, or something else.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for the end of Diallos’ questline Either way, the player will eventually return to Jarburg and find the population of living jars devastated. Jar-Bairn survives but all the other jars were seemingly killed or taken. Diallos is found dying in the middle of the village. The player can once again start talking to Diallos and Jar-Bairn then reloading the area to progress forward.
It’s implied that Jar-Bairn stuffs Diallos’ remains inside himself, leaving behind Hoslow’s Petal Whip, Diallos’s Mask, and a Numen’s Rune behind. This isn’t the end of Jar-Bairns quest, but the tale of Diallos ends here. : How to find Diallos’ location and finish his Elden Ring questline

Was malenia born with Scarlet Rot?
Home Gaming News Elden Ring Player Imagines What Malenia Would Have Looked Like Without Scarlet Rot
An Elden Ring fan shares their custom player character design for a reimagined version of Malenia, if she hadn’t been afflicted with Scarlet Rot. Elden Ring ‘s lore is a complex web of characters affiliated with different gods and groups, and what makes the story even harder to understand is that the game will never outright explain any of this to the player. Gamers are left to compile information from dialogues and item descriptions in order to put together a timeline of events and the many characters involved.
- Something players have figured out is that the most powerful beings in Elden Ring ‘s lore are known as Outer Gods, which are formless, and often elemental, entities with unclear objectives in The Lands Between.
- One of the most mysterious of these Outer Gods in Elden Ring is the Outer God of Scarlet Rot, which is responsible for the flowering rot that infests many characters in Elden Ring and the entire area of Caelid.
The Outer God itself is said to be sealed away below the Lake of Rot and so the player will never encounter it directly. Scarlet Rot, therefore, has become much more synonymous with another character who players can encounter, Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
Aside from Malenia being the most difficult boss fight in Elden Ring, the character is also incredibly important to the game’s story, as she is one of the shardbearing demigod children of Queen Marika. Specifically, Malenia is one of two cursed twins born to Marika and Radagon, and has been afflicted with Scarlet Rot since birth.
A Reddit user named legatii has used Elden Ring ‘s character creator to create what they believe Malenia would have looked like without this Scarlet Rot curse. Scarlet Rot can be seen corrupting Malenia’s entire body, and she has already lost an entire arm and leg to the affliction, along with her other leg below the knee, but legatii’s custom character shows what Malenia could have looked like without the Scarlet Rot.
The Reddit user says they took inspiration for the character not just from Malenia as she exists in game, but from her in-game father Radagon, as it is from him that Malenia also gets her fiery red hair similar to her half-brother Radahn. Malenia is still an Empyrean character capable of becoming Elden Lord, which means that Malenia was not only powerful enough to hold back the Scarlet Rot that has been consuming her for her entire life, but she also became one of Elden Ring ‘s most powerful warriors at the same time.
A much stronger and Scarlet Rot-free version of Malenia should therefore be a terrifying concept for players that have already struggled with Malenia’s boss fight in Elden Ring, Although Malenia fights against her Scarlet Rot curse, she has been known to wield it as a weapon when faced with defeat.

How do you become a true Elden Lord?
Elden Lord endings – In all of the Elden Lord endings, the Tarnished becomes Elden Lord and ushers in a new age for The Lands Between. Exactly what this age is can vary based on your actions, however. To achieve this ending, all you need to do is follow the main narrative of the game – obeying the requests and directions of Melina throughout the game and eventually become Elden Lord after defeating the Elden Beast and repairing the Ring.
The Age of Fracture ending is achieved by choosing to Mend the Elden Ring, which you can do by default by just following the critical path. The Age of Duskborn ending is achieved by using the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince, which is obtained by following the quest lines related to Fia, The Deathbed Companion and D, Hunter of the Dead The Age of Order ending is reached by choosing to use the Mending Rune of Perfect Order, which you get by following the quest of Brother Cohryn and Goldmask, The Blessing of Despair ending can be unlocked by using the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse, which is obtained by following the Loathsome Dung Eater’s quest and giving him Seedbed Curses found on corpses across the land.
Is Elden Beast immune to anything?
How to beat the Elden Beast – The Elden Beast is a massive, cosmic monstrosity with a full arsenal of attacks as epic as you’d expect from the final boss in Elden Ring. It’s helpful to approach the fight similarly to the various dragons you’ve encountered throughout your journey.
Get comfortable unlocking and locking on throughout the fight, be ready to close the gap when the Elden Beast flies away, and always be on the lookout for its many huge AOE attacks that can potentially one-shot you from full health. Unfortunately, there is no real easy cheese method to this fight. The Elden Beast is immune to all status effects, and strong against all elemental damage (it even heals from Holy Damage, so avoid that at all costs).
Its only real weakness is a glowing gold spot on its stomach, so always direct your hits there when possible (this is also where you can get off a Critical Attack if you manage to break its Stance). If you’re running a melee-centric build, simply use whatever weapon can maximize your damage output and smack away for as long as it takes. Weak spot on the Elden Beast’s stomach If you’re going to use a shield, make sure it has as high of Holy Damage resistance as possible (the Haligtree Crest Greatshield being the best of the bunch in this regard). However, given the massive AOE and huge posture damage many of its attacks can dish out, blocking probably isn’t your best bet.

How do you become a sorcerer in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring Intelligence Build: Armour and gear – Essentially, you should pick whatever armour allows you to at least medium roll. Preferably, you want the heaviest and most protective armour, but this isn’t the be all and end all in Elden Ring. I personally went for Alberich’s Set, which is a cool looking sorcerer set that you can loot in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Queen of the Full Moon Set – Get as a reward for defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon at Raya Lucaria Academy. Spellblade Set – Loot for Sorcerer Rogier’s corpse in Roundtable Hold when he passes away. This happened at the end of Ranni’s questline for us.
Alternatively, take a gander at our Blackflame build and our strength build, to see what else there is to try out. We’ve also got a comprehensive guide to The Lands Between in our Elden Ring walkthrough !
