Elden Ring Valkyrie’s Prosthesis location – You won’t find Millicent again until you reach Altus Plateau, just past the (opens in new tab) in the northeast part of Liurnia. You can find her just to the north of the Erdtree Gazing Hill Site of Grace, but you can’t progress her quest further until you retrieve the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis item from a chest in the Shaded Castle in northern Altus Plateau.
The map above shows the location of the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis in the Shaded Castle, and you’ll need to fight or run past a Cleanrot Knight to access the room where it resides. Once you have the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis, return to Millicent in Altus Plateau and hand it over. You now need to keep talking to her until you run out of new dialogue.

Why isn t Millicent quest showing up in Elden Ring?
Millicent Quest Step 10: Meet Millicent Near the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins in the Mountaintops of the Giants – You won’t see Millicent again until you’ve defeated Morgott, the Omen King in Leyndell, and gained the Rold Medallion from Melina. Take the Grand Lift of Rold up to the Mountaintops and head north, past the Zamor Ruins and across the great chain bridge. Near a Site of Grace beneath another large, though more traditional, bridge stands Millicent.
Millicent will mention that she’s looking for a way to the Haligtree where Malenia resides. That is your next destination. With the Right and Left halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, retrieved from Castle Sol and the Village of the Alburnaurics, respectively return to the Grand Lift of Rold and select Use Hidden Medallion to ride the lift to the Path to the Haligtree.
- At the top of the Grand Lift, via the Secret Haligree Medallion, you’ll pass through the Path to the Haligree dungeon.
- It’s not extensive, though the enemies there are far stronger than most others in Elden Ring,
- Out of the Path is the Consecrated Snowfield, a vast waste caught in a blizzard.
- Head directly north of where you leave the Path to arrive at Ordina, Liturgical Town.
At its top is another seal, not unlike the one in Sellia. The difference is you must enter an Evergaol at the northeast portion of the town to light the four braziers. Also, you cannot use Torrent inside the evergaol, making this a much taller platforming task.
First brazier location : From the Evergaol entrance, head south until you reach a broken wall just before the road. Jump up on the broken bits until you’re on the roof, and be mindful of the archers. Travel along the rooftops until you reach the ladder leading to the brazier. Second brazier location : Jump down and cross the street, then jump onto the railing on the other side. Walk across the railing until you can drop down into the alcove with the ladder. Climb up, and you’ll see the brazier in the open air. Third brazier location : Head north across the rooftops from the second brazier. You’ll need to cross the rooftops to the north while dodging the flurries of arrows coming your way. Kill the nearest archer to make your life easier, then climb up to the brazier. Fourth brazier location : Make your way down to street level near the Site of Grace. The brazier is sitting right near it. The issue is, there’s an invisible B lack Knife Assassin that wanders this area, and it will backstab, regular stab, and smash you into the dirt given the chance. Beeline it to the brazier, activate it, and you’ll be thrust out of the Evergoal with the seal at the top of the town broken.
There’s only one way to go once you reach Miquella’s Haligtree: down. It’s a fairly linear path, and you’ll pass demi-human enemies, mages, and at least two Leonian Misbegotten mobs. Eventually, you’ll reach a large arena, but don’t go in just yet. Head to the left of the arena across the bridge and take the elevator up.

How do you trigger Millicent invasion?
Millicent’s locations in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree and choices of ending questline – Miquella’s Haligtree has very high-level enemies, but despite its spiralling structure, is also fairly linear. You’ll essentially be making your way down the Haligtree until you reach a location deep down called Elphael.
- You’ll also have to fight Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree, a tougher non-spirit version of the Loretta you might have already fought in Caria Manor.
- The fight won’t be too dissimilar though.
- When you finally reach Elphael, the first Site of Grace you’ll find is Prayer Room, where you’ll find Millicent.
Speak to her until her dialogue has been exhausted and then proceed further down.
The next Site of Grace you should come across is Drainage Channel after passing through an awfully swampy area that you not only can’t wade through quickly but will also inflict you with scarlet rot (and the bug enemies there hit pretty hard too). Once you’ve got that checkpoint, you want to head back to the swamp, but look out southwest and you’ll see a path from some large roots that lead to another isolated swamp.
Take a few steps into the swamp and an Ulcerated Tree Spirit will appear. You may have fought a few of these already (which also drop Golden Seeds) but this is arguably the toughest of the lot in terms of health and damage output. And of course, you’re fighting primarily in a swamp that can inflict scarlet rot.
If you touch the red sign you will invade Millicent and fight her one-on-one. Kill her, and she will drop Millicent’s Prosthesis, a talisman which raises your dexterity and also increases the power of each successive attack. However, this path will also end her questline prematurely.
Defeating the four sisters will reward you with the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, a talisman that greatly raises attack power with subsequent hits. You’ll find Millicent lying nearby where you can talk to her for the last time. Then reload or rest at the Site of Grace and return and you’ll find her body where you can retrieve the Gold Unalloyed Needle you previously gave her.
Once you have settled on a starting class and starting Keepsake item, you should first work out how to level up, how to respec and use Ashes of War, Need some direction from there? Our Elden Ring walkthrough and Elden Ring boss order can help with where to go next, but we also recommend hunting down Golden Seeds, Sacred Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans and some of our best weapon and best armor choices.

Is it better to help Millicent Elden Ring?
Elden Ring Millicent quest walkthrough – The first thing you need to do is find Gowry, a frail old man sitting on his own in an isolated shack in eastern Caelid. Speak to him, and he will tell you about Millicent and her case of Scarlet Rot. To cure her, you need to find a gold needle somewhere in Caelid.
- The Unalloyed Gold Needle is held by Commander O’Neil, who can be found in the Swamp of Aeonia.
- Hand the gold needle to Gowry, and he’ll give you a scrap of paper called Sellia’s Secret.
- This paper reveals there are three torches waiting to be lit in Sellia, Town of Sorcery.
- The easiest way is to reach the Golden Tree and climb the closest tree branch to make your way up the buildings.
Remember, you can ride Torrent while in Sellia to make this journey significantly easier. Once the torches have been lit, the barrier stopping you from reaching the Church of the Plague will disappear. Return to Gowry, and he’ll give you the repaired needle back – head to the Church of the Plague to find Millicent lying on the floor in pain.
- Give Millicent the gold needle and speak to her multiple times until she rewards you with the Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom.
- Millicent travels to Gowry’s shack to thank him for everything he has done, but he won’t be around while she visits.
- Speak with her again, and Millicent will move onto the Altus Plateau, not too far from the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace.
Have another chat with her to find out what she plans to do, then you need to head to The Shaded Castle – it’s located in the only green area towards the northernmost region of Altus Plateau. Go through the castle until you find the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis – give this key item to Millicent to access the part of the quest. Next up, travel to the Dominula, Windmill Village. The fastest way to get here is to use the portal near the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge Site of Grace in Altus Plateau. Make your way up the hill until you reach the Godskin Apostle at the top, then defeat this boss to acquire the Godskin Peeler.
Reload into the area to find Millicent in the same location as the boss – speak with her, and she’ll move to a different location. Go to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace to find Millicent again and exhaust her dialogue options until she heads to her final location: the Prayer Room in Elphael Brace of the Haligtree.
Head through the dungeon and make sure you defeat the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Once the boss has been defeated, reload into the area, and you should find two summon signs on the ground. You need to think carefully about which summon sign you pick, as this determines which items you receive.
By assisting Millicent, you will receive the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and the Unalloyed Gold Needle. The needle is very important as it gives you access to a different Elden Ring ending if you use it later on, but this ending won’t strengthen your build. If you assist Millicent’s Sisters, you will earn Millicent’s Prosthesis.
Before patch 1.03, players could obtain all the quest items by helping Millicent and killing her after assisting in the fight. You could bring her back to life by performing an Absolution at the Church of Vows, but this is no longer possible unless you haven’t updated your game yet.
The only way to obtain both items now is to complete the quest again in New Game Plus. That’s everything you need to complete Millicent’s questline in Elden Ring. Getting through this entire quest can be difficult, so we recommend stocking up on either the best Elden Ring weapons for melee builds or the best Elden Ring staffs if you play a magic build.
If not, we have a list of the best Elden Ring weapon arts for those who prefer to smash their enemies to pieces. Finally, use our best Elden Ring summons guide to find where to acquire powerful spirit ashes.

Should I invade Millicent or help her?
Should you summon or invade Millicent? – There will be two summon signs present now. The orange summon sign will summon you to Millicent, where you will help her defeat some invaders. The red summon sign, on the other hand, will see you invade Millicent and kill her.
If you help Millicent, you are rewarded with the Rotten Winged Sword Isignia talisman (which greatly boosts attack power with successive attacks), meanwhile if you fight with her, you’ll get the Millicent’s Prosthesis (boosts dexterity, and slightly raises attack power with successive attacks) talisman.
After having helped Millicent, go rest and Millicent will appear where to summon signs once were. Talk with her, rest once more and return here. You’ll find her body in the same spot. You can now retrieve the Unalloyed Gold Needle from her body, which is later needed to get Miquella’s Needle; this is a key item for one of the for Elden Ring.
You’ll have to and return the Unalloyed Needle to the bloom she leaves behind, after which you can collect Miquella’s Needle in its place. If you felled Millicent, like I did (because I was getting too frustrated fighting three Invaders at once), a flower will be in her place, and you won’t be able to retrieve the needle.
If you’re going for the original ending, or Ranni’s ending, and so forth, felling Millicent won’t matter so much. Should I give Millicent the needle?
Millicent questline walkthrough for Elden Ring – (Image credit: FromSoftware) Millicent’s quest will take you all throughout the Elden Ring, including going into late-game optional areas and even encountering Malenia, the hardest boss fight in the game (at least if you want to get the valuable Miquella’s Needle).
- We’ve laid out a step-by-step guide on where to go below, with all of Millicent’s locations on the map above and what you can do to complete her incredibly long questline.
- We’ve also put together some closer details on the areas of Caelid and the Haligtree below, as the key locations are pretty close to each other and we don’t want anybody getting confused.
Best of luck, Tarnished! (Image credit: FromSoftware)
Before going to find Millicent, meet Gowry in the little shack just South of Sellia, Town of Sorcery (in central Caelid). He’ll ask you to bring him an Unalloyed Gold Needle. Head into the Swamp of Aeonia, specifically the area in the Southeast side. There’ll be a boss fight with Commander O’Neil – kill him and get the Unalloyed Gold Needle as a reward. Once you’re done, head back to Gowry and give him the Needle, then fast travel/pass time at a nearby Site of Grace. When you come back, he’ll have repaired it. Take it to Millicent, who’s at the Church of the Plague to the East, guarded by a couple of those horrible prawn people enemies. Give her the needle, then rest/fast travel again and exhaust her dialogue. Rest/fast travel once more and head back to Gowry’s Shack, Talk to Millicent and exhaust her dialogue again. Head to the Altus Plateau, just North of the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace and South of the Wyndham Ruins. Millicent is looking out over the cliffedge – exhaust her dialogue again. Head to the Shaded Castle and get the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis, which is in a treasure chest guarded by a Cleanrot Knight on the Northwest side. Bring it back to Millicent and talk with her further. It should go without saying at this point that if you’re ever going to talk with her, make sure you get her to say everything she has. Go to Dominula Village and beat the Godskin Apostle boss fight, After reloading the area, she’ll be in the arena. Talk to completion as usual. Millicent then makes a significant jump to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace in Mountaintops of the Giants, so you’ll have to have beaten Morgott the Omen King to reach this area. Talk to her as usual – you’re nearly there (sort of). Millicent is then found in the optional late-game Haligtree area in the North Consecrated Snowgrounds. Specifically she’s in the Prayer Room Site of Grace, about halfway through the area. If you don’t know how to get there, check out guide on how to get to the Consecrated Snowfield in Elden Ring, Head down below until you find the Drainage Channel Site of Grace, then head back up the ladder into the cavernous area and head left until you find the Ulcerated Tree Spirit – not technically a boss fight, but brutal all the same. Kill the Tree Spirit, then reload the area. There’ll now be two summon signs on the ground, one inviting you to Help Millicent, one to fight her. If you choose to help Millicent, you’ll work with her to kill four NPCs with a variety of weapons, with a Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman as a reward (which boosts damage on successive attacks). Otherwise you’ll fight her directly for Millicent’s Prosthesis Talisman, which does the same thing while also boosting Dexterity by five. If you want Miquella’s Needle, you HAVE to choose to help her. Once you’re done, Millicent will be dying close by. Talk to her one last time to get the Unalloyed Gold Needle again and end her questline.
(Image credit: FromSoftware) This takes you through the sum total of Millicent’s questline, but it’s not technically the end. There’s still a boss fight and a potential prize to be gained from the fallout of this larger quest.
