How do you level up weapon Arts Elden Ring?
Elden Ring: How to upgrade weapons – Source: Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Windows Central) To begin upgrading your weapons, you will need to find a smithing table to operate on or a blacksmith who will re-work your weapons. You can find a vacant smithing table at the “Church of Ellah” Site of Grace, which you can find north of the tutorial area.
There’s Blacksmith Hewg, who will upgrade weapons for you in the right-wing of the Roundtable Hold hub area, which is unlocked after encountering the boss, Mergit the Fell Omen. And finally, there’s the Smithing Master Iji who upgrades weapons and sells Somber Smithing Stones. Iji is located at the “Road to the Manor” Site of Grace in the northwestern area of the Liurna of the Lakes region.
Every weapon requires a sufficient number of Smithing Stones and Runes in order to be improved. You can also augment a weapon’s properties through the use of special items called Ashes of War. These will allow you to change the Weapon Skill of a weapon and change its damage scaling so that it can cater to your build by applying Affinities.
- For example, say you’re using a Strength-focused build, but you want to use a Spear that ordinarily caters to Dexterity-focused builds because you like its move-set.
- You can Infuse it with an Ash of War, then use the “Heavy” Affinity option to change its damage-scale rating so it favors the Strength stat instead of Dexterity.
However, there are some restrictions when it comes to upgrading weapons:
You can’t change the stat requirements of a weapon when infusing an Affinity via Ashes of War. This means you will still need to invest points towards the required stat if you want to use a weapon effectively and their Weapon Skill. The special weapons you obtain from bosses and certain treasure chests can’t be customized with an Ash of War, thus they are stuck with their default damage scaling. They make up for this by possessing unique Weapon Skills you won’t find anywhere else.

Do weapons scale with level in Elden Ring?
Weapon scaling ensures that Elden Ring players can reach the full potential of their swords, hammers, bows, arrows, and more. The majority of weapons scale with certain stats or attributes. The more points assigned to those specific attributes means the more powerful the weapon will become. Each weapon in the game has its own base stats. That makes the scaling feature a bonus stat in a sense. On a weapon’s details page, there is a plus sign near the attributes that can be upgraded by scaling with a certain stat.

Does dexterity increase weapon art speed Elden Ring?
Does dexterity increase weapon art speed in Elden Ring? According to, Dexterity also affects the cast speed of Sorceries and Incantations. Every point in Dexterity increases the cast speed slightly. So yes, it does increase. The comments on that page claim that each point of dexterity increases casting speed by 0.5%, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
Edit: I’ve completely misunderstood what you asked. If I’m correct, you were asking about weapon arts (which, I assume, Weapon skills), not sorcery or incantations. This answer, however, will be kept for future reference. I don’t know if Dexterity affects weapon skill’s speed. In fact, I did not know that dexterity affected sorcery or incantations.
However, judging from the page, it does not affect them, seeing as there is no mention of weapon skill casting/charging speed. Plus, if it does, what would be the point of using a Strength-based build? PvE-wise, it’s good, but in PvP, if weapon skills casting/charging speed are affected by dexterity, they will easily lose.

How do you add skills to weapons in Elden Ring?
How To Change Weapon Skills – Although most weapons come with a Weapon Skill, players may desire to change it. There are many reasons for doing so, which often involve the build or playstyle of players. Changing a Weapon Skill requires players to acquire Ashes of War, items that grant new abilities to weapons.
However, particular weapons cannot have their Weapon Skills replaced. Before players can change their Weapon Skills, they must acquire an item known as the Whetstone Knife. This item grants players the ability to add Ashes of War to weapons. Once players obtain the Whetstone Knife, they must visit a Site of Grace.
In the Site of Grace menu, players will find an ‘Ashes of War’ option available. This section is where players can add Ashes of War to weapons and change their Weapon Skills.
