Elden Ring Summoning Pools Tutorial Guide –
In each area, you may find effigies of martyrs. These effigies are summoning pools. You’ll find it easy to summon other players at these locations, as co-op and hostile summoning signs created with small effigies gather at summoning pools.

Does summoning in Elden Ring make it harder?
It’s common gaming knowledge that FromSoftware makes challenging games and has refused to implement an easy mode. But, in Elden Ring, you might be making the game harder by using summons! Here’s how The Lands Between is filled with foes just itching to take a swing at you.
- It seems that anything with a pulse is out to get you, so you need to constantly be on your guard.
- Even more so when you consider the unforgiving nature of Elden Ring, and the way that most enemies can kill you in the blink of an eye.
- Looking at you, Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader Sometimes, you might want to spread some of your workload and delegate some monster hunting to a friend, be it AI or human.
This is done using the game’s ‘Summon’ feature, allowing you to bring co-operators into your world. Here’s how, in case you’re confused. But, what you may not realize is that by teaming up, you’re actually giving your adversary a massive buff. This applies to regular enemies and bosses! Read on to find out how it works.

Is summoning cheating Elden Ring Reddit?
r/Eldenring – Using summons isn’t cheating but you guys need to accept that it makes the game significantly easier. And that’s ok. It’s not an elitist thing, it’s just plain objective fact. That being said, there’s NOTHING wrong with using summons, they’re helpful, they’re fun, they’re good; but doing a boss without them is a whole different experience.
I encourage both sides of the argument to try out the opposition. Both ways of playing are fun/viable and both offer something the other one doesn’t. Edit: it’s obvious that it makes it easier sure, but there’s a distinct difference between beating a boss like Malenia or GS duo with summons vs solo. I don’t think that difference is acknowledged nearly enough.

How do I summon people with summoning pools?
Elden Ring co-op: how to summon friends – (Image credit: Future) Now that you have everything you need to summon, it’s time to understand how summoning signs and summoning pools work. Summon signs work like in previous games. When you use a Furlcalling Finger Remedy, you can see the summon signs laid down by players in your area.
Conversely, by using the Tarnished’s Furled Finger, you can place your sign down in a location you think will be useful. Elden Ring has a new addition too – the summoning pool. These are marked by Martyr Effigies found within dungeons and near bosses in the world. Activate the effigy to use your Small Golden Effigy and send your summon sign to the pool.
It will appear near whichever summoning pool you have just activated, as well as other ones in the area. This makes the new feature a quick, reliable way to get into a multiplayer game with anyone. The way to guarantee you play with your friends in Elden Ring is to use Multiplayer Passwords.

Do bosses get stronger with summons?
Sometimes you might be better off fighting a boss yourself. Most veteran FromSoftware fans will know that enemies receive pretty substantial buffs whenever you summon another player into the game. This is mainly to prevent the boss from being an absolute cakewalk, increasing an enemy’s power to make sure its still a challenge if multiple players were to take it on at the same time.
Before today, we didn’t know just how strong these buffs were. Now we do. This new information is thanks to Elden Ring and Dark Souls savant Illusory Wall who posted the information to their Twitter account yesterday. According to Illusory Wall, bosses receive a variety of buffs depending on how many people you’ve summoned into your world.
If you’ve summoned just one person, bosses will receive a 60 percent buff to their health as well as a 50 percent buff to its resistances. If you were to summon two other players to your world, the buffs increase even more. Boss health gets a 130 percent buff as well as 100 percent buff to its poison resistance and a small 10 percent buff to its damage.
Other resistances remain at a 50 percent buff, although Illusory Wall does think this is a little odd and thinks it could be a potential bug/oversight that could be patched in the future. These buffs even apply to regular enemies, although they’re a lot smaller than the buffs that bosses receive. According to Illusory Wall, most regular enemies in the world will receive a 25 percent buff to health and a 50 percent buff to resistances, although this can vary.
However, if there’s one Elden Ring player out there that isn’t phased by these buffs, it’s community legend “Let me solo her”, In case you’re unaware, “Let me solo her” is a naked person with a jar on their head that hangs around the entrance to the Malenia boss fight.

Is there anything inappropriate in Elden Ring?
Parent reviews for Elden Ring July 10, 2022 I’ve probably played myself more than most other adults on here (about 120hrs), and the things I think you’d need to consider are: Blood/Gore: 1) Mohgwyn Palace is literally soaked in blood and to reach it you have to traverse a lake of ankle deep blood (also has a collectable called “blood tainted excrement”).2) One of the major bosses (probably the first you’ll reach) is called Godrick the Grafted because he grafts the body parts of his vanquished foes onto himself and certain minions.
The dungeon leading up to that fight also features a ceiling from which dangle conglomerations of limbs.3) A character called the “dung eater” and his quest-line likely contains some disturbing material, but I haven’t been interested enough to find out.4) Late in the story, your companion character self-immolates.5) deep within various crypts are chambers of bodies wrapped up in the roots of a great tree.6) overall, the game is replete with gruesome images/concepts in most dungeons and storylines.
Dead bodies everywhere. While the game does have an option to turn blood/gore “off” (which I did from the beginning), it doesn’t seem to remove much. Sexuality: 1) Malenia (a very late game and optional boss that will likely only be reachable by highly skilled adult players) has a 2nd stage in which she’s entirely nude.
She’s decayed and as a result has no visible nipples or genitalia, but still quite nude.2) the final boss cutscene features breasts of a major character, again no nipples.3) a major plot point is that a divine character has both male and female identities, and somehow produces offspring. The lore was written by the guy behind Game of Thrones.
Miscellaneous: 1) the prominent divine figure is commonly portrayed in manner of crucifixion.2) although maybe there’s some way to justify calling the player character a hero, I think that’s a bit of a stretch. Each of the possible endings is largely morally ambiguous and motivated by self-interest rather than a valiant quest to overthrow evil or fix the world.9 people found this helpful.
April 20, 2022 Absolutely amazing game, could be rated T if you turn off blood and gore, definitely recommend it! 5 people found this helpful. April 11, 2022 I love this game, I’m not that big on video games most of the time but this was an exemption. Me and my mom went to Walmart last week and he was begging me to get this game.
It said it was rated mature so I got it to try myself to see if it was ok for him to play. After playing it for quite a while I came to the conclusion that this game should be at most rated T, I’m almost completely done with the game and there has been no language at all.
- There is blood because of the usage of swords, hammers, axes and, a bit of magic but there is an option in game to turn off blood and gore.
- There is one boss that you fight where her second form has her only covered in scales but I’ve seen worse in T rated games, there is no drugs or alcohol in the game.
This is probably the best game I’ve played ever and I don’t understand why how stuff is rated these days. So in conclusion if your ok with some violence and a woman wearing scales then I think a child from 10-11 or over would be perfectly fine for this game.3 people found this helpful.
- July 14, 2022 Great fantasy game for most Children 10 and up.
- Not very much blood and all in all a great game.

- May 18, 2022 There is virtually no sex/nudity or profanity, and there is no drinking or drug usage.
- The main concern is Violence, which, while bloody, isn’t graphic (No detachment of limbs or extremities, etc.) The game is quite humbling, and is probably the best FromSoftware game for your kid to start off with, if they’re interested.9.5/10 game; beautiful graphics, strong storyline, and lots of fun.
This title has: 2 people found this helpful. March 30, 2022 An excellent game which can provide an intellectually stimulating challenge for a mature child. This is a complex RPG with very little guidance or hand-holding. For example there are no quest markers on the map, nor is there anything like a quest journal, so the player needs to pay close attention to any information they are given and make intelligent inference from it.
- The combat is challenging, requiring good reactions, patience and a understanding of the underlying systems.
- There are many different approaches to melee and ranged combat possible and several distinct styles of magic.
- The game features some blood and physical violence, but not in a manner that I would consider disturbing.
I would not consider the game to be scary, the enemies are monstrous but also fantastical and do not convey a sense of threat. My son is a smart and mature 9yr old, he is about 1/3 through the game and has been really enjoying it. I have enjoyed watching him figure things out for himself, and we share tips! Due to the challenge and complexity, I would only recomend the game for children with a decent amount of prior experience of both action orientated games and also games with rpg elements (e.g.
Understanding stats and levelling up). This title has: 2 people found this helpful. March 28, 2022 In Elden Ring, you explore a vast open world, complete with side quests, boss battles, loot, and dungeons. The combat has blood/bloodstains, but nothing worse than a T game. If you’re worried about whom the character is fighting, you fight humanoids, beasts, animals, ghosts, wizards, giant hands, knights, dragons, and more.
Even though Elden Ring uses blood sparingly in its combat design, due to many of the enemies being mythical beasts and ghosts, not all of the enemies even emit blood, although parents should note that when ghosts are attacked they spray a white fluid.
As for nudity and sex, the only thing even hinting at being suggestive is a boss where the only thing covering their body is scales, but I’ve seen worse in E10+ games. The main part of the game that is violent is the environment, with corpses and body parts littered throughout, but if your child has played games with a dark environment, such as Dead Cells, it will be fine since its dungeons are about equal in terms of disturbing imagery, such as dismembered body parts and corpses.
But, as mentioned before, there is absolutely zero gore and/or dismemberment in combat, just blood splatters that appear on screen for about a second before disappearing and creating a bloodstain on the ground. If you’re concerned about language, I haven’t noticed any swear words so far, but according to the ESRB, there are two instances throughout the span of the game where sh*t is said, which is about as many swear words as some PG movies have, so you really don’t have to worry about swearing in this game.
The one thing parents should watch out for is during the boss fight: Godrick the Grafted, when the player gets the boss down to half of its health, it will initiate a cutscene where he proceeds to chop off his arm, rip a dragon’s head off of its body, and place it on his severed arm. But, this can be easily solved, since you can skip through the cutscene with just the press of a button, so when your child reaches the boss fight, be sure to be in the same room as them so you can skip the cutscene.
Lastly, there isn’t any usage of drugs or alcohol in the game, so you don’t need to worry about characters getting intoxicated or smoking. Other than that, there isn’t anything parents need to worry about, so if your child is 11+, I’d recommend Elden Ring, since it has a great story created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R.
- Martin, buttery-smooth combat, and a gorgeous, huge open world that will leave players in awe.2 people found this helpful.

- December 31, 2022 Best game ever.
- My kids and I both love it, there’s no sex/nudity, it does have violence but you can turn blood off.
This title has: 1 person found this helpful. December 31, 2022 My kids love this game. I personally think that the rating for this game should be lowered, as there’s no sex/nudity and you can turn off blood in the settings. It’s a really well made game, and since i’ve bought it there’s been no difference in their behavior.

Is it cheating to use NPC summons Elden Ring?
It’s in the game, so not cheating. It’s there to make life easier for you. I feel it trivializes some fights so I don’t use them a lot. But if you want an easier fight, it’s there for you Its a game mechanic the devs added. Iits like asking if weapons are cheating because they make the game easier. But they do get waaaay to easy. Some bosses like magrit were developed with the intention of using npc summons and spirits. Most other bosses in side dungeons you can clear solo. Summoning other players (not npcs) is akin to cheating, yes, but it’s there if people want to play with their friends or whatever It’s in the game, so not cheating. It’s there to make life easier for you. I feel it trivializes some fights so I don’t use them a lot. But if you want an easier fight, it’s there for you Lmfao suddenly it’s legit now. yes, so is rolling and jumping, the horse too oh and fast travel. Oku 13 Mar, 2022 @ 12:42pm yes and you will be soft banned for using them. 13 Mar, 2022 @ 12:43pm most significant bosses in the souls games have an npc you can summon – in NG i always use them weither i need the help or not (sometimes this is needed for quest progression) and if there is no npc to summon – i am happy to bring in a single fellow for jolly cooperation if there are signs around, if not i go ahead and solo – i never bring two blues, because if both die or are bad i’m stuck with a sighnificantly up-scaled boss that my mana pool usually cant handle i’m not a casual and i don’t need to get carried, but it seems like most major bosses are intended to be a cooperative fight even if it is just with NPCs so i think the ‘solo only’ no summons, no ashes crew is silly (thought I have only uses ashes in exactly 1 boss fight so far!) because that is clearly not the intended way to play 737 13 Mar, 2022 @ 12:44pm I never use summons if I can help it. However there are some fights like Niall that kinda make you summon. Gank bosses in delves I definitely summon. It’s completely possible to do it solo though. I just saw a video of a guy beating Malenia as a level 1 wretch, no damage and solo. If you’re asking whether a game mechanic is “cheating”, you’re asking the wrong question. The question you SHOULD be asking is “Why do I care what randos on the internet think is cheating in my single-player experience?” No matter what limitations you put on yourself, there will always be someone who says you did is less legitimately than them. It’s in the game, so not cheating. It’s there to make life easier for you. I feel it trivializes some fights so I don’t use them a lot. Git gud dude Originally posted by Shady_Milkman : I feel like it makes a lot of boss fights too easy I’ve found ER to be both the hardest and the easiest game out of all of them, because of the huge array of powerful tools the game provides. Not “cheating” but it’s easy mode, it’s always been there for people who can’t solo. It robs people from the sense of accomplishment but hey, it’s up to you. Sit back while I get to fight the boss again, win win. Or if you meant the offline spirit summons, then yes those make the game significantly easier too. Can you summon players anywhere in Elden Ring?
Important Elden Ring Co-Op Information – Before diving head-first into Elden Ring with a friend, there are a few things to note about how its co-op works. There are a few limitations that make the game’s multiplayer mode far from seamless that are good to keep in mind when playing.
You cannot ride Torrent : If you’ve summoned a collaborator while outside any of Elden Ring ‘s legacy dungeons (ie. in the open world,) you won’t be able to summon your spectral steed, To a certain extent, this decision makes sense as it keeps players from being able to get too far away from one another. That said, it would be nice to simply be able to ride Torrent together or give all collaborators playing a single game a horse of their own. You cannot load into a new area : One thing that really breaks up the co-op experience is the fact that if you want to travel to a new area with a collaborator, you’ll need to disconnect from the game, travel to where you want to go, then summon them once more. This means that once you’ve beaten a dungeon with a friend, you’ll need to reboot the multiplayer session in order to keep playing. You can’t just summon anywhere : The most frustrating thing about Elden Ring ‘s co-op is that players aren’t able to summon others anywhere they please. For example, areas where the boss has already been beaten become unavailable and you can’t bring new players in to explore a boss-less dungeon. Summoning requires a consumable item : I’ll detail this more below but in order to summon other players for co-op, you’ll need to have an abundance of Furlcalling Finger Remedy on hand. Luckily, it’s easy to craft, but it’s important to keep in mind if you’re looking to do a lot of summoning. Gold for friends, red for foes : When summoning players into your game, summon signs will be one of two colors: red or gold. Gold signs indicate that the person you’re summoning in is friendly and offering help while red means that it’s a player interested in PvP. If you don’t want to specifically summon someone to fight, avoid the red signs. Invasions : Playing online with friends is great as it means you have the opportunity to team up to take down the Land Between’s biggest threats, however, it also opens you up to hostile invaders. Other players are able to enter your world and attempt to kill you or your summons, effectively ending the session. Luckily, there are more of you than there are of them if you’ve got a friend or two with you, but they can still pose a threat.
