What To Level Up In Elden Ring
Best stats to level up in Elden Ring – Whenever you level up, you’re faced with another choice: which of your 8 stats to increase. Below, we’ll cover which of your stats you should prioritise early on in your adventure. If you’re not opting for a specific Elden Ring build, here’s our recommended order of importance for levelling up your stats:

  1. Endurance
  2. Vigor
  3. Dexterity
  4. Strength
  5. Intelligence
  6. Faith
  7. Mind
  8. Arcane

What To Level Up In Elden Ring Endurance is the most important stat to level up early on, no matter your chosen Elden Ring class, because it increases your stamina. Stamina is required for attacking, blocking, dodging, running, and just generally staying alive during fights. It’s by far the thing you need most at the beginning of the game.

  • Endurance also increases your equip load, so that you can equip some of the best armor in Elden Ring,
  • Vigor is next, because it increases your maximum health.
  • Doing this can make fights a lot easier, because suddenly you take two hits to die, instead of just one fateful smack.
  • Dexterity and Strength are required stats for handling most weapons.

They also scale up the damage you deal with those weapons, but the effect is slight enough to be overshadowed by simply upgrading your weapon using Smithing Stones, I’d recommend setting your eyes on some of the best weapons you can find early on, and increasing your Strength and Dexterity until you reach the requirements.

  • Intelligence and Faith govern your power with Sorceries and Incantations, respectively.
  • Spells are very powerful in Elden Ring – but again, the damage scaling you receive by upgrading these stats is quite slight.
  • Don’t just pump these stats full of points: work towards a spell requirement goal.
  • Mind improves your maximum FP, which is your mana.

It’s worth putting a few points in your Mind stat over the course of your first few dozen levels, but otherwise you can more or less leave it unless you’re going for a dedicated spellcaster setup. Arcane improves your item discovery, which is your chance of finding items to loot on corpses.

  1. It’s nice, but certainly not worth prioritising unless you happen to find a spell or weapon that requires a certain amount of Arcane knowledge, such as Reduvia – one of our favourite early weapons in Elden Ring,
  2. That wraps up our guide on how to level up in Elden Ring.
  3. If you want to upgrade your character further, take a look at our Elden Ring Golden Seeds and Elden Ring Sacred Tears locations guides.

What should I be leveling up in Elden Ring?

Let’s call it “The V.E.S. Method” – Or don’t, I don’t care. That’s a pretty dumb name, but it gets to the point. If you’re new to Elden Ring and just want to bulldoze your way through the game with the biggest possible margin of error you can give yourself, invest heavily in Vigor, Endurance, and Strength.

What stats are best for Elden Ring?

Best Elden Ring Strength build – What To Level Up In Elden Ring (Image credit: Windows Central)

Starting class: Hero, Vagabond Important stats: 60 Vigor, 35 Endurance, 60 Strength Weapons: Strength-scaling weapons (use two hands for extra damage), medium or greatshield

If you want to make a pure Strength character, this build is your best option. The three main stats you need to level are Vigor, Endurance, and Strength. You’ll need plenty of health and stamina to wear heavy armor and tank hits, and since two-handing your weapons increases your effective Strength by 50%, having 60 Strength effectively gives you 90 Strength whenever you use your weapons this way.

This gives you incredible damage output that will flatten any enemy or player you encounter, especially if they’re lightly armored and don’t have a lot of health. Alternatively, you can Power Stance two weapons of the same weapon class to deal maximum damage, though you won’t be able to block any attacks while doing this.

This method of attack is excellent in many boss fights since Power Stanced jump attacks are quick and deal heavy damage, though they do drain stamina very quickly. Note that using your weapons with one hand and one of the best Elden Ring shields is also an effective option.

Your high Endurance paired with an upgraded medium or greatshield will allow you to block tons of physical attacks with ease, and you can boost your damage even further with critical ripostes after parries if you’re good at it (you’ll need a small or medium shield for this). Guard counters (heavy attacking after blocking an attack) are also particularly devastating with Strength weapons since their high stagger damage stacks with the stagger damage of the guard counter itself.

It’s possible to stagger tough enemies and many bosses in just a few attacks while guard countering with Strength weapons, and against less dangerous foes, this move will typically stagger them in a single hit.

Should I level up early Elden Ring?

Seaside Ruins – 577 Runes per run – What To Level Up In Elden Ring The mob of knights and goblins is located to the east, within the indicated area. The Seaside Ruins Site of Grace is located to the southeast of where the player first emerges into the Lands Between. From this Site of Grace, players will head east to find a group of knights fighting a group of goblins.

Taking down the entire group will net players 577 Runes, which is a pretty low amount. The advantage to this method is that the enemies are distracted with killing each other, so it’s easy to run in and start killing them before they start to focus on you. You receive Runes whenever an enemy dies nearby, even if another enemy kills it.

The Site of Grace is nearby, so a run should only take 2 to 3 minutes. It’s not the most efficient method, but it is the safest. Regardless of which method you choose, getting some extra levels and stat points early on in Elden Ring will be useful, especially when trying to beat the first main boss of the game Margit The Fell Omen,

Is the samurai good in Elden Ring?

Home Gaming News Elden Ring Clip Shows Why the Samurai is the Most OP Starting Class

An Elden Ring player shows off some serious martial prowess with the Samurai starting class when facing one of the game’s most notorious threats. What To Level Up In Elden Ring Elden Ring is not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination. While some builds will cut through the game faster than others, it is and always will be an enormous game filled with huge challenges, easily warranting the official Elden Ring guide coming out in Japan,

Every step along the road of Elden Ring expects more of the player than the previous part, with higher stats and more powerful builds being necessary. For all that though, a huge part of the game is decided by the starting build that a player chooses, and one player makes a convincing argument about which one is best: the Samurai.

Players in Elden Ring frequently push themselves to find the limits of what the game can handle. Sometimes this is hitting the actual rune cap of the game, sometimes it’s finding the absolute best build for every boss. And sometimes, as is the case with Redditor Noraje_, it’s demonstrating the power of the Samurai.

Rather than a detailed argument, Noraje_ used a video for evidence showing their Samurai taking down the first boss of the game, a Grafted Scion, using its starting equipment. This is impressive for a couple of reasons. The first is that the Grafted Scion is meant to be a scripted loss at the start of the game.

On a starting playthrough, very few players can bring it down, even knowing what to expect. The second reason is that not only does Noraje_ take down the Scion, but they also take it down easily using the Samurai. Utilizing the skill Unsheathe and a couple of well-placed jumping attacks, the Samurai staggers, bleeds, and destroys the Scion.

  • All of this without even resorting to the Samurai’s other weapon, the bow.
  • It’s so one-sided it’s almost enough to convince players that the Samurai could beat the final boss of Elden Ring alone and unaltered.
  • The Samurai does objectively have a lot going for it as a starting class, with good armor, a light shield, and a very powerful starting weapon: a katana.

Balanced in speed and strength and with the aforementioned Unsheathe skill, plus a starting longbow, there’s a lot to love. Granted, sometimes Unsheathe makes things go horribly wrong, but that’s mostly in PVP situations. It’s certainly an inspirational video for anyone hung up on the starting Grafted Scion fight and a useful advocation for the Samurai as a starting class.

How high should I level Dex Elden Ring?

Dexterity – Much like Strength, Dexterity is another Elden ring Stat that affects melee weapons. Where strength affects bigger, beefier weapons, dexterity affects smaller, tinier weapons. Dexterity builds are some of the most fun ways to play Fromsoft games due to how fun the movesets are and how quick dexterity builds are.

Like Strength, Dexterity can also be used for hybrid builds and quality builds alongside pure dex builds. Dexterity also affects the nimbleness of your character (literally speaking). From the casting time of spells to the player getting kicked out of their horse during combat to reduced fall damage. Dexterity does this all.

Dexterity also boosts the damage of dex weapons alongside letting the player wield them. All in all, Dex is also one of the best stats in Elden Ring. For dex builds, we recommend a dexterity level of at least 50. You can check more on Dexterity through our Best Elden Ring Dex Weapons article.

When should I start upgrading my Elden Ring?

  1. Home
  2. PS5
  3. Action
  4. Elden Ring

(Image credit: Bandai Namco) It’s important to know how to upgrade weapons in Elden Ring as strengthening weapons is as vital as levelling up – increasing your character stats will only go so far if you don’t improve your gear as well. There’s an element of gatekeeping here with +1, +2, +3 or more level Elden Ring weapons dealing increasing damage and make higher level areas more accessible.

As you find Elden Ring map fragments and unlock more of the map you’ll eventually start to reach tougher places where better weapons will make all the difference. You can upgrade Elden Ring weapons yourself at the start, using the anvil you find at the Church of Elleh, and the Elden Ring Smithing Stones you find in the world.

You’ll need a blacksmith eventually though to reach the higher levels in Elden Ring, which could leave you wondering what to do next for a while. So strengthening your weapons in Elden Ring ultimately involves finding a blacksmith, finding the right smithing stones, and understanding what the numbers mean for damage so you don’t waste limited stones on the wrong thing.
