Why isn t Elden Ring available on Xbox?

Elden Ring on Xbox Game Pass Was a Bug, Microsoft Says – IGN

Nope, definitely isn’t on Xbox Game Pass.Microsoft has confirmed that, while some users saw Elden Ring appear on Xbox Cloud Gaming as part of Xbox Game Pass, it was just a bug that has now been fixed.”If you’ve seen Elden Ring and other games appear as if they might be playable on Xbox Cloud Gaming or Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft says this is a bug and it has rolled out a fix,” said The Verge editor Tom Warren,

if you’ve seen Elden Ring and other games appear as if they might be playable on Xbox Cloud Gaming or Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft says this is a bug and it has rolled out a fix — Tom Warren (@tomwarren) Several games including Elden Ring, GTA V, and Soul Hackers 2 appeared on store pages and an ad promoting Xbox Cloud Gaming earlier today.

  • But while many speculated that this meant an Xbox Game Pass debut for the titles, it looks as though it was all an unintended mistake.
  • We’re aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles as available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate,” a Microsoft spokesperson told,
  • We rolled out a fix and this is now updated.” Of course, it’s no surprise that gamers and Game Pass subscribers jumped to conclusions.

After all, it wouldn’t be the first time a game had leaked in this manner before being added to the Game Pass catalog. Madden NFL 23 was previously listed on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the same manner that Elden Ring appeared here. Equally, we’ve seen plenty of red herrings too. When Can I Play Elden Ring Xbox

Is Elden Ring on Ultimate Game Pass?

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has popped up on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as one of its free-to-play titles. Xbox Game Pass, a subscription-based platform known for harvesting some of the best games of all time, recently added Elden Ring, the highest performing game of 2022, to its library.

  1. The problem is, it’s not official, and has in fact been uploaded in error.
  2. So, if you happened to stumble upon it in the last 24 hours, be mindful that it isn’t permanent.
  3. First spotted by Game Pass Counter, Elden Ring was in line to become the next all-star of Game Pass.
  4. Unfortunately, though, Microsoft released a short statement claiming that it was an error on their part, and that a patch has since rolled out to cover up its existence on the storefront.

Therefore, if you had hopes of saving a pretty penny by playing the best-selling game of 2022 via your Game Pass subscription, then you are, at least for the time being, out of luck. Can I play Elden Ring if I haven’t played any souls games?

Elden Ring NemPlays I have turned into an Elden Ring evangelist, a complete 180 for a game I planned to avoid for a while, given that it was being released at the same time as Horizon Forbidden West and Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen. I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to it, frankly.

  • But it was also becauseFromSoftware games are not really my thing.
  • Yes, I’ve beaten Bloodborne, but even after that it wasn’t an experience I was rushing back for, which is why I didn’t play Sekiro.
  • Way before that I had bounced off Demon’s Souls, and as such, I’ve never played the Dark Souls trilogy.

MORE FROM FORBES Ten Things I Wish I Knew When I Started ‘Elden Ring’ By Paul Tassi Well, I’m here to tell you that if you have no or negative Souls experiences, that should not affect your decision to play Elden Ring, a game that I would without question, recommend to more or less everyone so they can experience easily one of the best games of the last ten years, and arguably the best conceived and realized open world map in video game history.

I’m genuinely not sure there’s anything to top it, Skyrim and Breath of the Wild included. I talked a bit yesterday about an ” easy mode ” build that helps you coast through the game with magic, but I want to talk a more generally today about why it’s more approachable than past games. Elden Ring From A Hundred Ways To Play – While certainly there are multiple builds in Souls games, they all have a somewhat familiar cadence combat that is brutally punishing, given that it’s almost entirely melee based.

Here, the introduction of three main trees of magic open up a huge chunk of the game to dramatically different playstyles than previous games, and ones you are not locked into with the ability to respec your character to go down different paths a short way into the game (uh well like, 50 levels into the game, which is short in the grand scheme of things).

  1. Save Points Are Everywhere – You will generally no longer find those massively stretches of time between checkpoints where you go through an entire section of a Souls game and lose all your materials when you die unless you trek all the way back to it.
  2. In 50+ hours so far, I’ve found those very, very few of those sections and have permanently lost very few runes (essentially the game’s equivalent of XP).

Past games in this genre could often feel like you were standing in place, not making progress because of the difficulty, but I’ve simply never found that here. And if you do run into a difficulty wall you can always justleave, go explore somewhere else on the vast map, and come back when you’re ready.

Elden Ring FromSoftware You Can Farm Up – Speaking of being ready, farming has been present to at least some extent in past FromSoftware games, but it’s a lot more potentially prevalent in Elden Ring, meaning you can overlevel for a lot of fights rather than needing to get through them purely by never making mistakes close to 100% of the time.

I’ve run into many situations where I’ve found enemy clusters to farm for a few levels here and there, and if you really want to farm up, there are guides for the highest yield spots on the map to give your character big boosts (you especially are going to want to invest in Vigor/Health as a new player).

  • It’s As Much Of A Mystery Or A Walkthrough As You Want – I would absolutely recommend playing as much of Elden Ring blind for as long as you can, as that’s part of the charm of the map, figuring out all the unexpected places and dungeons and puzzles you’ll find.
  • But with that said, the game can be cryptic to the point where you can miss a lot of stuff with a totally blind playthrough, including breaking some quests if you don’t do them right.

The good news is that at this stage, the online guide industry has you covered with walkthroughs of every major and minor landmark on the map, or the locations of the best weapons and armor. While I am not going through all of those myself, at this point, after doing so much myself, the ability to look up the odd puzzle solution or spell location here and there is helpful.

  1. But if you want total hand-holding for the duration, that’s there for you too, no judgement (well, no judgement as long as you don’t post about it on Twitter).
  2. Just buy it.
  3. I can almost promise you will not regret it, and that’s coming from someone who was a skeptic at the start.
  4. No matter your past history with FromSoft game, Elden Ring is something that should be experienced by everyone.

Can people play Elden Ring early?

Elden Ring Release Times North America – When Can I Play Elden Ring Xbox

February 24 at 9:00pm PT on consoles/3:00pm PT on PC February 24 at 11:00pm CT on consoles/5:00pm CT on PC February 25 at midnight local time ET on consoles/February 24 at 6:00pm ET on PC

As demonstrated by the Elden Ring release time map, the game will be playable on PC earlier than consoles. For example, those on the west coast will be able to play Elden Ring on PC starting at 3:00pm PT, while west coast gamers on PlayStation and Xbox will have to wait until 9:00pm PT to get their hands on the game.

No reason has been given for this discrepancy at the time of this writing. The downside to the staggered launches of the PC and console versions of the game is that it gives PC gamers a head-start, increasing the odds of Elden Ring console gamers getting things spoiled for them. PC gamers will only get to play six hours earlier or so, but Elden Ring spoilers are already a problem that the community is dealing with before the game has even properly released.

Regardless of what platform they’re playing the game on, all Elden Ring fans will have the chance to pre-load it ahead of time. Elden Ring Xbox pre-loading is available now, while those on PC and PlayStation will be able to pre-load 48 hours before launch, so sometime this coming Wednesday, February 23.

Does time of day matter in Elden Ring?

Much of Elden Ring’s content can be found exclusively at night, as many enemies and bosses do not roam the Lands Between during the day. When Can I Play Elden Ring Xbox With the release of Elden Ring, FromSoftware introduced day and night cycles and even went as far as locking some content behind a specific time of day. Although we saw something similar in Bloodborne, one of the developer’s previous games, the time of day was closely tied to the game’s story and, as such, would only change when a player’s progressed far enough into it.

Players are given much more freedom to control the day/night in Elden Ring, as not only does it affect hidden content but even other gameplay aspects. The first difference players might notice is that at night it is much easier to move stealthily, as the enemy’s visual detection distance is greatly reduced.

This can be very helpful to players as infiltrating many areas of the game via stealth can often offer a meaningful advantage. The other main aspect affected by the time of day is what kind of enemies players will encounter. The Lands Between is home to a great variety of creatures, and some, like bats, will only come out of hiding during dusk and nighttime.
