What does the Dung Eater do to corpses?

7 He Holds The Key To One Of The Bad Endings – Where Is The Outer Moat In Elden Ring So what exactly is Dung Eater’s motivation for slaying and defiling the corpses of his victims? Well, apparently, he’s not just evil for evil’s sake. Like all beings who are vying for the Elden Throne or the Elden Ring’s power, Dung Eater’s goal is to curse all beings in the Lands Between,

  1. He does this through his aforementioned Seedbed Curses, which grows on the corpses of his victims.
  2. This is so that they’ll be cursed if they ever get reborn and so will their children and their children too.
  3. If players return five Seedbed Curses to Dung Eater, he gives them a special rune that unlocks an ending where everyone gets cursed.

It’s not clear what exactly the curse does, but it’s a pox that makes the accursed grow Omen horns.

Who should I give Seluvis’s potion to?

Who should you give Seluvis’ potion to in Elden Ring? – Here are all of the NPCs you can give the potion to in Seluvis’ quest:

  • If you give the potion to Gideon and tell Seluvis you did as he asked, you’ll still be able to buy (opens in new tab) from Seluvis.
  • If you give the potion to Nepheli, she will turn into a doll and leave Roundtable Hold soon after, an eternal slave to Seluvis. You can then buy her spirit summon from Seluvis later on but her quest will stop here,
  • There is also a third option, to save the potion and give it to the Loathsome Dung Eater when you find his physical form in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds under Leyndell, Royal Capital. Doing this will also make the Dung Eater a summon available from Seluvis.

As long as you give the potion to someone and don’t progress Ranni’s quest to the point where you give her the Finger Slaying Blade, Seluvis will remain alive and you’ll be able to pursue his quest further to gather Amber Starlight and try to turn Ranni into a puppet.

Where does Dung Eater go after potion?

7. (Alternate choice) Give Seluvis’ Potion to the Dung Eater for a Puppet – You can end the quest early (again, preventing the Blessing of Despair ending), by turning the Dung Eater into a puppet summon. This requires a few steps, but effectively makes the Dung Eater into an imprisoned NPC you can summon like you do with your Ashes. If you want to do that, here’s the process:

Follow the Elden Ring Ranni questline and secret ending to the point where you talk to her in Ranni’s Rise, and her three minions, including Seluvis. Talk to Seluvis in his tower, South of Ranni’s, and he’ll give you “Seluvis’s Potion”.Take the Potion to the Dung Eater in his Subterranean Cell, not Roundtable Hold. Interact with him and administer it to him. (We’re told that if you wait until he falls unconscious and then kill him, you can get his armor without sabotaging this conclusion, though we haven’t tried it ourselves).North of Ranni’s tower are some ruins with an illusion floor that disappears when attacked. Go down the steps and read the message inside about not touching.Head back to Seluvis and confront him, and he’ll make the Dung Eater into a puppet in exchange for 5 Starlight Shards.

Where is Dung Eater after potion?

Elden Ring Dung Eater Puppet Guide –

To obtain the Dung Eater Puppet, start by beginning Ranni the Witch’s quest at Ranni’s Rise After speaking to Ranni, speak to the spirit versions of Iji, Blaidd, and Seluvis in her tower and exhaust each of their dialogues, then speak to Ranni again.

After speaking to Seluvis, he will reveal to you that you can meet him in his tower near by, where he resides in his tower directly south of Ranni’s rise. Going to his tower and speaking to him until his dialog is exhausted will have him give you a simple quest to find Nepheli and ensure she drinks Seluvis’s Potion.

Do NOT use it on Nepheli. Instead, hold onto it until you progress the Dung Eater’s questline far enough. Progressing past the point in Ranni’s Quest where you give her the Fingerslayer Blade will lock the player out of Dung Eater Ashes until NG+.

After you meet Seluvis, go a bit north, to the ruined building that’s half way between Renna’s Rise and Ranni’s Rise. Roll over the flat stone floor in the top-most area, which will break the illusion and allow you to enter Seluvis’s lab. Explore the lab and activate the glowing message. To it’s left is another illusionary wall, which will reveal an additional secret chamber. Now return to Seluvis and talk to him about this chamber you’ve found. This will allow you to pick a free puppet ash. This will also advance his questline, Follow the Dung Eater questline, up until you’re able to meet his real body tied to a chair in the sewer-gaol in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds underneath Leyndell, Royal Capital, This will require progressing the main story to Altus Plateau and obtaining at least one Seedbed Curse, which you must show to him in Roundtable Hold so that he’ll give you the key to his cell. After you fight him in th eOuter Moat, go find him tied to a chair in the sewer-gaol. Exhaust his dialogue, and the option to administer Seluvis’s Potion will appear. Do so to trigger dialogue of the Dung Eater sounding worried. You are now finished with both the Dung Eater part of getting his puppet, the Dung Eater questline (as it can no longer be completed). You can also kill the Dung Eater right after administering the potion (don’t leave or reset or his body will vanish) to obtain the Omen Set, If you do this, his body will not be found in Seluvis’s laboratory, but you’ll still be able to get his Ashes. Return to Seluvis’s Rise, and comment on the fact Nepheli hasn’t appeared in his lab as a puppet. This makes him wonder if he didn’t use the right ingredients. Then, if the dialog option for getting your own puppet has not yet appeared in Seluvis’s options, you may need to buy some of his sorceries, or possibly summon your free puppet, or possibly just leave the area and fast-travel back. It’s a bit murky exactly what will trigger him to offer to sell you the Dung Eater Ashes. Once he does, you’ll need to bring him 5 Starlight Shards to purchase the Ashes.
