Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring?

Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring
Who Killed Iji? – Source: Boss Fight Database Iji was killed by Black Knife assassins for betraying the Golden Order. It is implied that the Two Fingers ordered the assassination of Iji. Basically, War Counselor Iji was in service of Ranni The Witch. This information is given to the player upon their first encounter with Ranni.

  1. Progressing through Ranni’s questline reveals that Ranni’s goal is to betray the Golden Order and to begin a new era in The Lands Between.
  2. Later down the questline, it is revealed to us by Iji that Blaidd (another servant of Ranni) has been put in his position by the Two Fingers under orders to kill Ranni if she ever chooses to betray the golden order.

Ultimately, Blaidd realizes this and goes mad. It is then your job to kill Blaidd outside Ranni’s rise. When Iji is notified of Blaidd’s death he will tell you that he believes his time is also up. Resting at a Site of Grace will then reveal Iji’s dead body covered in black flame, his helmet off, and the bodies of three dead Black Knife assassins next to his corpse.

The information on Iji’s helmet revealed that it repelled forces such as the Black Knife assassins. Iji’s last words, and his helmet being off when he died, made many fans believe that Iji’s death was suicide. He removed the helmet intentionally to make the assassins come for him. The second conclusion is that the Black Knife assassins came to him due to his support of Ranni, making him a traitor to the Golden Order.

Who died in the night of black knives?

The Night of Black Knives was an event that would serve as the catalyst of the conflict known as The Shattering. It involves the assassination of Godwyn the Golden, the son of Queen Marika the Eternal.

Does Rinnai control the black knives?

What Was The Night Of Black Knives? – Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring The most important thing to know when talking about this event is what exactly happened. On the night in question, a number of elite warriors known as the Black Knife Assassins were contracted to seek out and kill Godwyn, The exact details of the night are not revealed to us, but the assassins managed to restrain Godwyn and killed him with their special Black Knives.

This act killed the soul of Godwyn, but not his flesh, This meant that Godwyn was trapped between death because both the body and soul must die for someone to die completely, Godwyn was the son of Marika and Radagon. The death of her son, understandably, sent Marika a little off the deep end. Because Godwyn was murdered, she shattered the Elden Rune, and its pieces were all distributed amongst the children of Radagon, Rennala, and Marika,

It is not explained whether the Demigods squabbled for the shattered remains of the Great Rune, or if Radagon bestowed each one with a particular piece. Either way, The Shattering is responsible for the Demigods we know during our playthrough, Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring Only two of the Black Knives are named in the game, and are also the two most important. These are Black Knife Tiche, Alecto was the leader of the Black Knife assassins and the mother of Tiche, After slaying Godwyn, the assassins fled the city, and Tiche died protecting her mother.

This is not Tiche’s only claim to fame, however: she was the one who dealt the fatal strike to Godwyn that night. The Black Knife assassins are an interesting group. They come from the Eternal City, though it is not clear exactly who contracted them for this plot. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Black Knives is that, according to the Black Knife Armor set, they were all Numen,

This is significant for two reasons. The first is that Marika is also accepted to be of Numen blood. Numen are rumored to have originated from somewhere outside the Lands Between, likely meaning that they are aliens or celestial beings. It is also significant that all the Black Knives are women.

  1. With this information, and the fact that Marika is also Numen, we may be able to conclude that Numen can only be women.
  2. If death did not exist until Godwyn died, you may be wondering how he was able to die at all in the first place.
  3. Every member of the Black Knives wielded a special dagger that mimicked the Rune of Death,

Essentially, each woman was carrying an artificial Rune of Death in their pockets. After death was introduced to the world, it was a little easier to kill Demigods, but the Rune of Death would still have to be used. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring This is an interesting topic, as we don’t concretely know who contracted the Black Knives to kill Godwyn. We have two very likely candidates though. It was either Ranni the Witch, or Queen Marika herself, Now, Ranni is the much more likely of the two to be the culprit.

However, there is an interesting discrepancy that may pin the blame squarely on the mother of the murdered. Ranni admits directly to us that she orchestrated the Night of the Black Knives to us during her questline more than once, She drops it first early in the quest, and then later expands on why she did it.

She claims that she knows the Greater Will is in control of the Lands Between, and she wanted to rid the world of its influence and install the Outer God of the Moon to rule in its place. This gives her good motive, and since the Numen have such close ties to the stars and space, it is not a stretch to think that Ranni’s studies led her to their Eternal City. Here we get into where certain discrepancies and missing information in Ranni’s accounting begin to make a new picture form. Prior to the death of Godwyn, no one in the Lands Between had ever died, Death was not a concept, and simply didn’t exist. However, when he was killed, the Rune of Death came into existence, and death crept into the world of the gods.

However, at the exact same instant of Godwyn’s slaying, there was a witch, kneeling atop one of the highest towers in the land, taking her own life. We know this because Godwyn’s death did not produce the entire Rune of Death. Instead, it was fractured into two halves, one of which lies over the dead and decayed body of Ranni the Witch.

Ranni died in body, while Godwyn died in soul, but their two deaths were almost instantaneous of one another, causing the Rune of Death to fracture, In order for Ranni to have died at the same instant as Godwyn, either Marika or Ranni must have known about the other’s plan,

  • This is where things get muddy, as both have very compelling motives.
  • At first glance, this plan does seem to have all the hallmarks of Ranni.
  • A perfectly orchestrated plan to slay a Demigod, perfectly timed so that she could ascend to her soul form.
  • Ranni wanted to overthrow Marika, and to do that she would need the power to kill a god.

A power that only existed in the Rune of Death. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring Ranni certainly had the motive, but did she have the means? The Black Knives could have been from Nokron, which Ranni could have accessed. However, the game only tells us that the assassins came from “The Eternal City”. There is a second Eternal City called Nokstella that is inaccessible is killed; hundreds of years after Godwyn. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring Image courtesy of Youtube.com The killing of Godwyn brought Destined Death into the world. This was a very unfavorable outcome for the ultra-powerful ruling elite of The Lands between like Marika and Radagon who were meant to have an eternal rule, However, for the common people left to roam the lands and slowly lose their minds, death would have seemed like a reprieve.

The Night of Black Knives is the catalyst for almost every event in Elden Ring, and we see the fallout of it anywhere we go, Those Who Live in Death used Deathroot to avoid the fate of being etched into the Erdtree, and to hopefully be released from the fate of being recycled by it. Small cults like this popped up all over the land, causing the Golden Order to retaliate and create new Incantations to combat them,

This turning away from fundamentalism surely inspired others to turn away from the Greater Will and to seeking other Outer Gods to take its place. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring It seems that even the Demigods were influenced by the event. in the system implemented by the Greater Will, and seemed to agree with Ranni in the fact that it needed to be overthrown. Where he differed was in thinking that all Outer Gods needed to be overthrown.

This night may have resonated with him to create a way that would dispel an Outer Gods influence without killing the host. The effects of releasing death onto The Lands Between are almost innumerable. One thing is for certain though: that night showed the common people that a god could die, and that fact shook Marika to her core.

Why is Elden Ring dead?

ELDEN RING Isn’t Dead, You’ve Just Been Bamboozled Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring There’s been a lot of talks lately about the player base stats for Elden Ring and claims that the latest title by is dying out. Here’s the thing though – in a game that was built to mainly be played single-player, the online aspect is only just an add-on concept.

Not only that, but a player base going from nearly one million to 500,000 would be bad for literally any other game BUT Elden Ring, Looking up now as I write this and it looks like the number has gone down a bit further to just under 400,000 players. The reason this doesn’t mean anything for Elden Ring has a little bit to do with the fact I brought up before, but as for the main reason: most players have simply been bamboozled! As someone who never got into the Souls games and only really enjoyed challenging titles to be in a 2D or puzzle-based experience, I can still honestly say that purchasing Elden Ring crossed my mind.

It looks amazing, everybody I saw playing it was having a blast, it was all the internet talked about for weeks at a time, and the hype was driven by countless factors. However, I knew to remind myself that the genre of the game simply means that I will not enjoy my time on the game. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring This is a title that, like the previous Souls titles, offers a ‘Git Gud’ experience. If you don’t have the patience to practice and hone your skills, you’re gonna have a bad time. And that is exactly what happened to the majority of players. Look at the achievement records alone! So many players haven’t even beaten the first boss! So no, Elden Ring isn’t a dying game.

Was Melina a Black Knife Assassin?

Home Gaming News Elden Ring Video Compares Melina’s Weapon with the Black Knife

An Elden Ring player notices a detail about Melina’s weapon of choice that has major implications for the character’s role in the game’s lore. Why Is Iji Dead Elden Ring FromSoftware games are known for having incredibly deep stories and character connections which can be completely missed by the player. The company’s latest game, Elden Ring, is no exception to this as very little about the game’s intricate plot will ever be overtly explained to the player.

Instead, Elden Ring ‘s story has to be collected piece by piece through character dialogue, item descriptions, and things as subtle as an NPC’s choice of weapon. The Elden Ring player community adores this aspect of the game, as there are YouTube channels, subreddits, and countless internet forums dedicated to pooling theories and piecing together the game’s lore.

But Elden Ring ‘s ambiguous nature can sometimes leave certain characters in an unclear position in the game’s lore. One of the most mysterious characters in Elden Ring is Melina, who the player will enter into an alliance with at the beginning of the game, which allows the player to both level up and use the horse mount, Torrent.

Beyond this, not much is known about Melina or her motivations, although there has been a lot of speculation about Melina’s true identity in the lore of Elden Ring, A Reddit user named Razhork has shared a comparison clip which shows a very subtle design choice about Melina’s weapon, the Blade of Calling, which ties Melina to the game’s Black Knife Assassins.

Many players have likely never seen Melina’s Blade of Calling because she only wields it if the player summons her to assist with the Morgott the Omen King boss fight. Razhork’s Reddit post reveals, however, that the blade is functionally identical to the Black Knife wielded by the Black Knife Assassins who, in the game’s lore, killed Godwyn the Golden in the events preceding Elden Ring ‘s story,

Crucially, this assassination was done using knives imbued with the Rune of Death. Razhork states that Melina’s weapon is a modified Black Knife, but what is more likely is that the Black Knives were originally Blades of Calling before coming into contact with the Rune of Death. The most important aspect of this connection is that the Elden Ring community had already worked out that Ranni the Witch had at least partly orchestrated The Night of the Black Knives in order to free herself from her mortal body.

This weapon comparison provides another possible connection between Melina and Ranni in Elden Ring’s lore, as many fans are certain these two characters are connected in some important aspect due to them each having one closed eye. If fans have learned anything from exploring the world of Elden Ring, it is that no detail is too small when it comes to explaining the lore of the game.

Is everything dead in Elden Ring?

Disturbing ‘Elden Ring’ Detail Confirms Where All The Children Have Gone Ready to feel bad? It turns out that one of the groups of enemies you merrily hack your way through in Elden Ring are actually dead children. Oof. Take a look at some of the best Elden Ring wins and fails below! As pointed out over on (via ), the Jellyfish in Elden Ring are the trapped spirits of dead children.

  1. As I’m sure you’ll know because this game’s lore is super easy to follow, the destruction of the Elden Ring throws the cycle of birth and death into complete chaos.
  2. As a result, people are unable to pass on to the afterlife as intended.
  3. And the children? For some reason, they turn into jellyfish.
  4. Why jellyfish, exactly? That’s a question for a five hour Elden Ring lore deep dive on YouTube, I’m afraid.

A few players have stumbled onto this disturbing fact via a brief sidequest involving the Jellyfish Spirit Summon. The summon players can take into battle is called Aurelia, and one player actually managed to find their grave (alongside Aureliette’s) in the Mountaintop Cemetery.

So far so depressing. It turns out Aureliette’s spirit is waiting for Aurelia at the Stargazers’ Ruins, just north of Freezing Lake. She mentions that Aurelia promised they’d go to see the stars when they turned 14, implying that they were barely teenagers when they died. To reunite the two, you need to summon your own jellyfish NPC while stood in front of Aureliette, at which point the two of them will disappear together.

Elden Ring – Who Murdered Iji?

Presumably to go see those stars at long last. TLDR: you’ve been killing kids in Elden Ring, and you need to go ask the turtle pope for forgiveness immediately. : Disturbing ‘Elden Ring’ Detail Confirms Where All The Children Have Gone

Is Tarnished dead in Elden Ring?

The Homeland – Before understanding who the Tarnished are, one must understand their home and history. Tarnished were once inhabitants of The Lands Between prior to gaining their current title. It was a kingdom ruled by the Greater Will through its Elden Ring vessel Queen Marika the Eternal, who watched over the Erdtree.

  • Queen Marika was the vessel of the Elden Ring and ruled over the land with her male half – Radagon.
  • Being the vessel of the Elden Ring gave her the status of Goddess, and she was to rule over the Lands Between, but there were those that would not hear of such a thing.
  • She and her consort-husband, the Elden Lord Godfrey, would fight all of those in opposition to the Erdtree.

Eventually, she removed the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring as she desired a world without Destined Death. This later prevented the Tarnished (who fell from the Grace of the Erdtree) from dying, leading to their banishment from the Lands between. It wasn’t Queen Marika’s only defiance in the face of the Outer God that helped her ascend to Godhood.

If Elden Ring players don’t kill skeletons the right way, then they will keep coming back to life -here’s how to deal with them. Most of them will die normally when players lower their health bar to zero, but some opponents will not go down the first time they “die,” and those enemies are skeletons.
