It depends on your box, but I can't see ever needing more than 4. It's basically about sttd farming (works well with a Dios lead), and to a lesser extent buttons after an armor break (since Arthur doesn't do true damage). For every Rodin or Rodin Tamazo you have available for sttd, you can pretty safely subtract an Arthur from that maximum of 4. I keep 3, and I've fed the rest for +'s.
What about Ra's? How do they fit into the mix? I've got three of them, and they're usually my standard push button for stuff, but I realize that sometimes 77,777 isn't always enough?
Ra deals "true damage" (damage that ignores armor) and would be for more common button farming of high armor but low health stuff ie - a lot of evo mats, tamadra dungeons, tans etc And can be used straight up or as an inheritable laser in various MP farming builds.
Ra doesn't do enough damage to kill the enemies in sttd which are higher health enemies without much armor. So Ra is really good, but a different tool for a different purpose.
On the flipside Arthur is more niche - he does enough damage to clear the first four sttd floors (when levelled or +'d appropriately), but it's not "true damage" so he'll barely dent enemies with really high armor that Ra by-passes. If you were to use Arthur as a more generic button for something like a tama dungeon, you would need to break the armor of the tamas first using Anji or Balboa.
Yeah, I mostly use Ra for easy farms of any of the high defense dungeons - XP dragons, tamadra, tans, predra and the like. I have enough true damage cards that I can field a full team of them, but yeah, it doesn't do much in a dungeon with higher HP.
