what's your perspective based on friends list, forum activity here and reddit, etc?
My list is basically the same, inactives get cleaned and then I always get more requests. So seems stable for the moment.
On the survey that Enix did for "what games did you play" both Brave Frontier and Puzzles and Dragons were both on the list, plus they got a 3ds game. I mean honestly, I think we're doing just fine.
But this upcoming power creep is frustrating :| a 36x minimum is quite the jump
Looks like I won't be rolling my 73 non IAP stones (and counting) until these monsters hit N/A!
My list usually has 0-1 empty slot. I feel bored and demotivated though, especially given how monotonous my friend list has become nowadays.
Overall, my gut feeling is that NA player base plateaued.
We lost some high ranking players recently. Gungho NA should take note and release reasonable QoL changes like sta overflow and speed up the pace of updates to keep up closer to JP.
Yeah some top players are quitting, the highest rank person in NA quit (rank 937 as of last night) around a month ago and gave his account to someone else
Not even Sta overflow. More like better skill up
and stone everyday (like Brave Frontier)
Is that player on this forum? Why did he quit?
he just got bored i guess, he still posts on PG
PAD as a whole has been dying since December 2014 with a steady decline up to now. Cute fiscal year.
Stock prices arent the same as user base, but that's interested.
A week or so ago King (candy crush) was the #1 shorted stock in the US.
They could do some advertising. Get Kate Upton's Gargoyle-Sister to limp out of her lair in a scantly clad outfit that barely covers her hunchback. Any kind of advertising would be good.
No, but most analytics would show a general trend/correlation. Gungho's has been going down for 3 months and counting, the mature market doesn't help much either.
i mean we're considerably behind in updates...like 3 months or more at this point
While I understand the licensing issue stuff with colabs, it blows my mind that they just treat NA player like crap with simple server-side content upgrades. I mean, the code is already written and there is absolutely no reason to keep us waiting for upgraded, non-licensed content.
The stones are more expensive
The content are 3 months behind Japan
Fewer free magic stones
Gungho treat non-japan players as second-class citizens
No wonder it is not popular in the NA or EU! I played in the NA version to the 167 rank, then I just could't stand such discrimination and go to JP version. Believe me when I say it is much more interesting when you can play the newest content and collaborations at first hand.
But...aren't you shooting yourself in the foot? The whole decline is because things got stagnant, wouldn't burning through new content in JP version make it boring when it is finally released in NA?
True, the company performance is global though, with JP suffering similar issues especially with more fierce competitors native in JP's gaming markets.
Nexon America has been in the red for the last 5-6 years, with only a slight increase this first quarter. It's asinine to attempt to use this information as a method to measure a companies success, when the entire global economy has been having problems to begin with.
