Clearing Izanami took me so many tries. And that's with the ideal (or close to it) team. (Napoleon was second hatcher pull on my main account, after Valkyrie.)

    Yeah. Izanami is rough. :/

    Switching gears but . . .

I hate when I go to play a temple level and I accidentally choose not only the wrong element but the wrong (time versus regular).

    Things went poorly.

So I recently noticed a news item about the 8.0 update when logging in for my daily goodies. On a whim, I decided to actually, y'know, read about the update and wow, I am impressed.

    Here are the relevant links:

    http://us.monster-strike.com/news/version_80_update_part_1.html

    http://us.monster-strike.com/news/version_80_update_part_2.html

    http://us.monster-strike.com/news/version_80_update_part_3.html

    http://us.monster-strike.com/news/other_version_80_information.html

Here are just the first 2 items in the long list of changes:

    And some other major changes:

    Big stuff!

Possibly big enough to get me playing again!

    ...Possibly.

EDIT: But we'll see if they do anything about the general crapulence of 4* monsters and the abysmal hatcher 5* pull rates.

I'm pretty excited for the update actually! The library of memories is one reason. The medal system looks interesting but holy grinding Batman.

My wife and I recently ran the Kamaitachi dungeon on Savage together for the guaranteed clear. It was really fun to play MS with her again.

She needs Behemoth to ascend her Micha, so we'll likely pull up the Library and play that soon, too.

It's good to be back! :)

I don't know if 8.0 is enough to reverse the tide of players leaving the game, but it finally feels like XFlag listened to player input and is making an effort to retain players, bring old players back, and bring in new players as well. Whether or not it's successful, it is encouraging to see a concerted effort on their part.

We can regroup back together... Right? Tek7 + Otter + Me?

Anyway, bought myself Olive after doing a Golden 10-Shot Feature Hatcher which got me those:

Average luck if you ask me.
And I decided to do some Trials because I had nothing else to do other than run that.
I will admit, it's literally a cakewalk if you know what the gimmicks are by thinking about the Quest title on each set.
Excluding the very first Quest set: Enter the Fray, that had no gimmicks.
Also thank goodness for the Library. I can probably get Max Luck Tengu that I can use later on for The Water Walking Prince.
And I max lucked another Cthulhu because why not?

    I'm down for some co-op!

I don't have WhatsApp or LINE installed, but I've seen players using Discord to share MS lobby links. Maybe we could try that?

Yes. We can start here: https://discord.gg/QWvbWAj
I think you still need LINE or WhatsApp for hosting but at least you don't have to send text messages to annoy them.

I'm down to try, but I won't be able to until I get my roof fixed (lots of snow, took down a building. NO BUENO WEEKEND FOR ME)

First try clear on Kushi Zero. That also gave me the egg from there as well.

And I max lucked Deathscoil Redux. There's a lot more max luck monsters I left out so far so time to spend more time trying to either wait for the Easter event to come back or focus on trying to get an Ableberry slot later.

Congrats! What team did you run?

I haven't attempted any of the Zero quests. I gave up on Impossibles after several consecutive failures on the second series of Impossible quests (e.g. Ashura, Bishamonten, Marici, etc.) and never went backs, so kudos to players with the skills, monsters, and tenacity to clear the newer Impossibles. :)

On co-op did this with 2x Blossom Warrior Pink, Lin Zi (Trans), and Apollo (ASC). Every single Ableberry synergies soon well I will admit that it could've been worse.

Speaking of transcensions, are you guys finding it takes an absurd bummer runs on the dragon gem levels to get a drop?

I want to transcend Valkyrie and Susano'o (and now Ryoma and Sanada as well), but collecting the gems is such a hassle.

I wish XFlag would give gems as quest rewards like GungHo gives jewels away as clear bonuses.

EDIT: I mean, seriously, what does it take to get a fire dragon gem to drop?

EDIT#2: And I need 8 of them on my main account alone: 3 for Ryoma, 3 for Sanada, and 2 for Valkyrie.

For the most part, I'm enjoying returning to MS, but the abysmal dragon gem drop rate sours the mood.

It takes a sacrifice and a fortnight to get dragon gems to drop. Needed one wood for my Aladdin and I have to get the materials for Ryoma and Sanada as well. And I find the dungeons stupidly boring.

They are indeed amazingly dull. I hope Monster Strike follows the same trend that PAD does: Introduce incredibly rare evolution materials (that only serve to artificially slow and gate the player's progress) then make them easier and more convenient to acquire over time.

Remember when GungHo first introduced jewels? They were a nightmare to collect. Now there's Jewel Rush and, with the right farming team, you can snag 3 from an urgent dungeon in under 2 minutes. Oh, how times have changed.

I remember the dark early days for sure. I thought I'd never see a jewel.

My alt account on iPad can't coop for some weird reason (probably, slow and old iPad can't do location right) and the account is woefully behind :(

Lucy is still one of the strongest monsters in the game. I have on my alt account and can confirm she's fantastic.

In my opinion, her evolution is more fun to play, but the Barrier ability on her ascension is just too strong to pass up.
