Red Cotton (Still Needs to Be Evoed)
I've been using Napoleon, Revo Sakuya, and NYKanna in addition to RedCotton. NYKanna, if you have her, is amazing....6 two prongs hits like a truck.
But I don't have Ed or Ilmina.
Use whatever Fire/Light or Light/Fire cards you have. It doesn't really matter whether it's a TPA or 7c based, the team will have high survivability except for a gravity.
But it has 4x recover as well!
Doesn't help you from 100+% gravity. For example, Hera-Nyx with 99% gravity followed by a normal attack on the same turn, or even Sha Wujing when you failed to FUA.
Cooped A5 (or whatever we're calling it) with a friend who isn't on discord during runs. He just lazy matches Hera-Nyx last night...splat. There goes that run.
Kind of a luxury team, I’m running Ilmina/Elena/R.Cotton/Amen at the moment. I have Gilgamesh on Cotton but might move him to Amen, should put some Awoken Bind Clear on Cotton. Right now just have Onion Knight for the move time debuff clear, will miss the time bebuff clear though.
Still hoping for a Rin instead of Amen, but other than that, can’t really see how I could do better.
Anyone have any advice on a VDP sub if I don't have Ilmina??
Currently running Rin/Ilmina/Napoleon/Cotton.
Napoleon adds some survivability and Rin has a 2 turn AS, so good candidate or Fujin assist.
Cotton will be my VDP, my Ilmina has Unbindable SA. But Mega Odin or Krishna would be good options. Odin would be really good too. Add combos and 2x VDP should let him hit like a truck.
Am i doing it wrong?
I feel like you're missing out on the best parts of both cards going that route. Ilmina makes a great VDP because she has and can take a lot of relevant killers. You can blow up stuff making a VDP with minimal combos meaning more room for other actives. 2x 7c is pretty common but with a third 7c, Cotton becomes one of the best solo cards in anyone's box with FUA and other great awakenings. Plus, to make the VDP super worthwhile, you probably want to hit 7c on her since she only has the one VDP and no killers, and that generally means giving up active slots to make it consistent. Just seems life is easier the other way around. If it works for you though, nothing wrong with that.
@ko300zx damage hasn't really been a big prob with the team and I figured Shirou's active would fix any combo count requirements for 7c and VDP. That said, perhaps you're right, one sub being bindable isn't really the end of the world, though I do pair Ilmina with Madoo and a bindable leader is much more of a problem.
Either way I only have around 90+s, no SA on Cotton yet and a Shirou with an SB and not the Fat Finger. So I guess, short term, what way I will lean will ultimately be determined by what SA Cotton gets first
Yeah depends on what you run. If damage is no problem, don't even worry about it til later down the road. We don't have Den-O so Cotton is pretty much the best damage dealer we have for Shirou. If you ever move onto anything down the road that requires a little more power, maybe its something to rethink.
What about kyo? I mean I know he's not light...but hes got 7cc a VDP sa and a great active.
@ko300zx this team probably does a cool 30-100m card-damage off natural boards and Ilmina/Elena are just packed with killers making it much higher. On active use it gets just plain silly with 2x7c Cotton alone doing 70-150m alone off an Ilm or esp an Elena board with her skyfall buff. This may just be a flat out broken leader, even by D.Meta standards (though building Rainbow is doable with D.Meta).
@Cheeseghost Kyo is about 80% there. Cotton has the Light sub, is unbindable and a short enough cooldown to be a platform for inherits. But in general, Kyo is still a pretty great sub, he can be the teams primary damage dealer and/or VDP and comes with a bicolor killboard type active which you should have anyway and comes with a couple fingers to boot.
Not broken. You'll get that number from Yog leaders. Both has the same ATK multiplier, and both suffers from gravity attack.
Yeah but up to 4x HP/RCV at all times (assuming R/L team) makes recovery a lot breezier. And pre-empts not being a prob makes a big diff. Yog isn’t really a “universal” team, it’s exceptional at what it’s good at though.
